We ended up contracting Pearson for a large scale landscaping project in our backyard. Could not be happier with the results. Mark was professional and kept constant communication during the process. The work crew was on task and did a great job of cleaning up every day to minimize disruption to our lives. We ended up making several adjustments as the project moved along and found Mark and the whole team to be very receptive to our changes. We have been using Pearson Landscape Services for over 3 years and we couldn't be happier! We have an extensively landscaped yard and the crew has maintained the place very well. I also appreciate the fact that I can ask the crew to do something additional while they are here, and they will go out of their way to make sure that I am happy. I have never had a problem contacting Mark. I either shoot him an e-mail or give him a call and he is very responsive! We used Pearson for a remodel we did in central Austin. Mark came out, did a plan, we paid a deposit and they started the work. Everything seemed fine until at least 40% of the plants died because they were not the correct plants for the location. The contract came with a guarantee that the plants that died within a certain time frame, would be replaced free of charge. I called to tell them, but they never called back. I called so many times that I started writing the times down so that I could report the situation accurately in my Better Business Bureau report. Mark never fulfilled his contract with us even though we did with him: payment in full the minute the work was done. They are lacking in business ethics and I would avoid doing business with them. read more

Our experience with Mark Biechler and Scott Smith was great from the beginning. Mark and Scott came out for an initial consultation and both were very polite as well a knowledgeable about the local plants and materials. Mark Biechler, the designer, later presented us with a landscape plan that really captured just what we wanted for the property through a beautiful perspective drawing. Once the project started things kept going well. The Crews were very nice and kept the property very clean. The project generally moved along at a good pace with crews working from early morning to late afternoon. Pearson Landscape was not the lowest bidder of the three contractors interviewed. A little more was paid, but we are glad we paid a little more because the job came out so well and was completed in a timely manner. They redesigned the old garden into a beautiful landscape with a mix of eclectic shrubs and perennials. read more

Recently had Mark and team design and execute a major landscape enhancement in my front yard. So far I'm very pleased with the results. Mark has a good design eye, and was careful to deal with issues that are sometimes neglected in projects of this type, like proper drainage. His team was friendly and responsive. read more

Without a doubt, the worst service we've seen in a long time. Forget the fact that their company charges a fortune, but with that, you'd expect some pretty stellar results. Mark assured us that he was the man for the job, but the only way we could get things done was by sending angry emails. When he came out, he got in a screaming match with my husband; then after the final time we complained, he told us that he was moving on from residential in our area effective that day. So he left us high and dry, and we had to scramble to find another company. Then, weeks later, we realized that our lawn was dying. Our entire front yard was brown. After I went to check the sprinkler settings, it had been changed to only water 1 minute a week in the front yard. How that was changed, we'll never know...but we have a pretty good idea as this company was the only one who had access to this system. Do not use this company or you'll be in for a rude awakening. Initially everything seemed to go according to plan. Mark seemed very professional and honest. My wife and I know very little about plants, so our decision was based on having everything done by one company, so we would have a nice warranty on everything, including plants, lighting and irrigation. For us, having the 12 month warranty was huge; we are not wealthy, and 24,000.00 was a huge investment for us. (22,000 was the original bid, but wound up being 24,000 due to "misunderstandings".) The agreement was they would warranty all plants for 1 year providing they did the quarterly maintenance for a fee. This seemed reasonable, in fact we welcomed the quarterly maintenance, and felt it would help us learn. In a nutshell, when things began dying, they were extremely reluctant to back their warranty. Initially their excuse was that we were over watering, even though they set the watering schedule, and said they would adjust the schedule quarterly when they came out to do the quarterly maintenance. Next they claimed that because we live in Pflugerville, and that gas at the time was 4.00 gallon, they would not be able to do the maintenance; therefore we have no warranty.. After threats of lawsuits, they came out and did a quarterly "maintenance" that was a joke. We finally threw up our hands and told them to forget the maintenance, and we are on our own now with this abysmal investment.Buyer beware, but if you disregard this warning, make sure you have every detail in legally binding documents, and be prepared for legal fees. read more
