Through no fault of their own my corals were delayed by UPS and left on a truck during one of the…read morecoldest days of the year. Most of my coral were a little haggered because of their good packaging but it was below freezing temps at night so the most expensive coral a very nice mushroom was destroyed. only the foot and a small piece of the head was left and the container looked like it had small pieces of cotton floating around in it. To their credit they not only replaced the coral but sent me pictures of corals in their shop that were not online and gave me the pick of the litter as the replacement. I was home when the package arrived and took pictures and put a thermometer in the box and send the pictures to them to show them what happened. Would do business with them again in a heart beat.

The care they provide for the fish, plants, and the overall organization and layout of the store is glorious. It is the kind of store you could find yourself popping into just to kill a little time, because it's lovely and the vibes are so nice. If you're an aquarist that dies a little inside everytime you see a betta being kept in someone's decorative antique thimble? Rest assured that their bettas are not kept in cups, but in lovely little temporary tank homes, that are all clean and well maintained. I didn't see a single betta that didn't pass the "curious, clear eyed, symmetrical, glide and dart" test. I also heard them teaching a couple about nitrogen cycling, tanks size, and letting them know that they really wouldn't advise buying their betta today. Though if you have the cash to burn they do have pre-cycled tanks ready for purchase. I've been here twice now. Once to get all the gear for my tank and fishless cycle, and then back about a month later to pick up my first betta, Mr. Pants. I'll be going back this weekend for a nerite snail, and the weekend after that for a couple of skrimps provided our betta accepts the snail w/o a fuss. So with all this glowing review, why only four stars and not five? Well, the service could me a smidge better. The lad that helped us on our first visit seemed like he really knew what he was doing, but was super awkward and really hard to talk to. We made it pretty clear that we were totally new to aquarium keeping, had nothing, and needed a full setup, but he left out several things we ended up finding out we needed. The most important of which was a water testing kit, which seems like the first thing that might come to mind if someone is buying all the stuff to do a fishless cycle? The guy that helped us out on our second visit was friendlier and easier to talk to, but did kind of seem like he was in a rush and helping us was a bit of a hassle, even though it was a Tuesday afternoon and there were like four people in the shop. I would normally grant space for a busy, popular store being perhaps understaffed, or overworked, but both times we went there were at least four employees on the floor, it was just that only one of them seemed to actually be there to assist customers. Anyway, none of that is enough to keep me from going back, obviously, but just know that you need to do your own research about what you need before going in, and be willing to overlook some less than stellar service. A small price to pay for access to their incredible and well kept stock.

There are also some turtles outside (back of parking lot). Located in an interesting dome structure (saltwater fish is on the second floor). Parents: I'd avoid a stroller, if possible. It's a bit cramped in here plus it can get crowded. Also, there are stairs to get to the top floor. Small parking lot in the back but also additional parking in the strip mall. "Austin Aqua-Dome", is a full aquarium shop of items needed for in home aquariums. They have exotic fishes and common fishes they have some I've never seen before. If you just want to come in and see if aquariums are in your future, this is the place you need to look for. The staff is super helpful and knowledgeable about what fish will be best for your aquarium. I highly recommend this place for your aquarium needs.

I have been using Aquarium Beautiful for over 3 years now for maintenance for my 55 gallon salt…read morewater tank. The first time I called them, I had a massive leak and they came to my rescue. They took my fish to their store Gallery of Pets on Duval, and "housed" them until the proper tank was located that would fit in my custom stand.
