The rest of my review because apparently I'm too wordy for Yelp on this one!
    L K.

Note: The only reason I am giving two stars is because I got my money back (kind of - my insurance was still billed for the lenses). Without this, it would be a one star review. Short story: It took me 65 days for them to get me a pair of sunglasses. Want the long story? Continue reading. Long story: This is going to be one epic saga of a review, because this was one epic of a saga to get a pair of sunglasses. Who would have thought it would take over two months, multiple phone calls, four visits, and an endless amount of anger? Here's my story. March 14. I dropped off my sunglasses frames to have prescription lenses put in them. This was after a phone call prior when they assured me they would be able to do this. I have a unique pair of Ray Ban sunglasses that I used to wear when I wore contacts and have not been able to wear them now that I reverted back to glasses. I worked with Nicole who assured me the lab could do this, paid my money, and walked out being told they would be ready for pick up March 29. March 29. Came and went. Didn't hear a word. I get it. Things run longer. But it's been over two weeks. April 8. I call. Nicole puts me on hold and says she can't find them and doesn't know what's going on. She says she'll look into it. Five minutes later. She calls me back and tells me the lab broke my frames and my glasses were "put in the special pile" for the manager to call me back. Why did it take three weeks and me having to call to see what was going on? She tells me I can come in to look at them and see what I want to do. April 10. I go in to look at them. The break doesn't look too bad, and Nicole assures me the tech can file the lenses down to put them in. Apparently once the lab breaks them, they won't touch them anymore. That should have been a red flag for me, but I really loved these frames and wanted it to work. April 12. Received a voicemail telling me my glasses are ready. April 13/14 (I don't remember the exact day at this point). I go in to look at the glasses. You would have to be blind (and I am partially blind, obviously, needing glasses and all) to think they looked anywhere near acceptable. The lenses had definitely been filed down, were completely filed down uneven and had large gaps where the color was missing. Imagine like coke bottle glasses on the sides, which looked even worse because it was clear there. I was seriously like, "WTF?" by then, and then I am told I can only work with Nicole on next steps and she was out. Well, great. April 15. Get a voicemail from Nicole saying what my next options were. Money back or pick out new frames. What I really want is MY frames! If they gave me my money back, now I'm basically back to square one, minus a pair of sunglasses! April 17. I call Nicole and agree to have them make me a new pair of sunglasses with the same style frame they have but in black. Not ideal for me, but as good as it is going to get. She tells me she will call the lab on Monday and put in a rush order and my glasses will be ready in a week to a week and a half. Guess what? You guessed it! Heard nothing. May 5. I call and now speak with Jasmine who can't figure out what is going on and will call the lab and call me back in 5 minutes. 5 minutes come and go. I call back 25 minutes later. Apparently she had to call the lab like "three times" and the lab said they were waiting for the mirror coating to cure. WTF? What mirror coating? I did not ask for this. She then proceeds to review my file and tells me she can give me $50 off. She then tells me she will follow-up with me Friday or Monday. Guess what again? Heard nothing. May 13. I (once again) have to call to see what is going on. Spoke with Jasmine who tells me the lab tech that she spoke with before didn't know what was going on and there was no mirror coating (well, then, why is it taking so long?). She then proceeds to tell me they should be ready on Friday if they pass QC/inspection. She also proceeds to tell me, "I left you a voicemail..." Yeah, right. You just didn't call me. May 15. I call because why didn't I get a call one way or another? Jasmine gets snippy and basically tells me that what she meant is the lab would have them ready on Friday, but they still had to be shipped. How the F do I know if your lab is in the back of your store, down the street, or in Arizona? Ready to me implies ready. Same day. The manager of the store now gets involved and leaves me a voicemail asking me to call him back. I call back and get placed on hold. Jasmine comes along and picks up the phone and says "I can have him call you back." Sure, like that's gone over real well over the past two months. I tell her I will call back. I call back a little while later and speak with Alan, the manager. He is apologetic and tells me they will refund me the entire amount. Great. At this point, I just want to be done with this whole thing. It's not even about the money any more.

Nguyen was super friendly, helpful and gave me some great insight on how to take care of my eyes between visits.

One of the most frustrating parts is that…read morethere's no clear way to contact the office besides calling the front desk--no email or direct way to address concerns. About a month ago, I called ahead specifically to ask if they could put prescription lenses into my Meta glasses. I was told yes, but that I'd need to schedule an eye exam first. I waited a full month for that appointment, came in today, went through the entire exam process, and only at the very end was I told they could not put lenses in my frames because I didn't purchase them there. This was especially confusing because I've brought in my own frames before and had lenses put in without any issue. I was then told they would be able to help if I had purchased Meta glasses directly through them, which felt inconsistent and frustrating. I did everything right on my end--I called ahead, asked questions, confirmed pricing, and came prepared. In the end, I used my yearly insurance benefit on an appointment that didn't meet my needs and walked out with nothing. It felt like a complete waste of time. Because of this experience, we'll be finding a new eye care provider. The lack of clear communication and consistency just doesn't work for me.

Our pediatrician recommended we take him to a legit optometrist place (and not just a large chain) to get him correctly examined. I found Family EyeCare Associates on Yelp and so glad I did! Check-in was simple and easy and all the front desk ladies working that morning absolutely loved my son and were great with him. During his exam, the eye care assistants (not sure what they are officially called, sorry!) were great with him and his five year old energy and silliness during the exam as well. We ended up seeing Dr. Pincock who was really kind and great with my son as well. He was super thorough in his exam with my son and made him really comfortable with every step of the process. We were able to find out that my son really was in need of glasses, and out the door (after insurance) for his exam and fancy bendable glasses, it was only $80! So glad to have discovered this spot and we'll continue to make them our primary eye care office.

Clip Joint Alert!!!…read more Wow! Don't go here. You will be over charged. I have not one but two VSP instances. I came here because they were listed as a VSP Primer Edge. Where as a VSP member my insurance was supposed to go further with agreed pricing, rebates, and discounts. I got nothing! First off the front end staff were all rude and monotoned. They did not even blink their eyes. That's a bad sign meaning they are going to give you rehearsed lines and screw you. When it was time to pay for everything they wanted $60 for the exam and $160 for a half year of contacts. For a year everything would have cost over $400 after insurance. I am doubly covered. Well covered. Every other place that I have been to with VSP agreed pricing and discounts I would only pay under $40 for everything. If I include glasses every thing would have been just under $100! Not 400! I told them they were over priced. They just stared at me with blank looks and gave me a rehearsed line. I paid the $60 exam fee, asked for an online prescription, and left.
