I truly like the service here. We have been coming here for a few years now and we are always welcomed with a smile and without long waits. The staff is very knowledgeable about glasses and insurance. We have never have to wait long for an appointment either and they have flexible hours that can work for almost anyone. The space location is accessible by car or transportation. There is a bus stop on the street side. Plenty of parking available. I have been coming here for about 9 years. I initially chose this office because it was in my insurance network and the location was convenient. I have since moved to North Tacoma but still take the time to go to this office because I appreciate their friendly and professional service. Dr Robinson is great! She's so nice, and her exams are a breeze. The selection of frames varies, and I can be kind of picky about what frames I like, so some years I have purchased in-store and other years I've gone online. When I've purchased in-store, the staff was very helpful at making sure I got the most out of my insurance benefits, and laid out all of the lens types and extra features available, without pressuring me to spend more than I wanted. I highly recommend this eye care practice if you are in Tacoma! One extra thing: I really appreciate that they are taking all of the necessary precautions to keep their patients and staff safe during the COVID pandemic. Have gotten my daughters eye glasses here a year ago, not impressed with their service but it's very close to our house. Few days ago my daughter broke her glasses, I tried to stop by Cascade Pacific Eyecare couple of times now and every time the door is locked and no one is there. There are few signs on the door, one sign says that they work by appointment only. Also, it says not to knock on the door or try to pull it. Have tried to call to schedule an appointment, but every time it's an answering machine. So, I went to Pearl Eye Care Center where they are open and accept walk ins where I received a great service. Will never go back to Cascade, they can keep being afraid of being open to their clients because of virus until they go out of business for all I care. read more

I've been here twice now, each appt with a different doctor. I originally scheduled here because I wanted Dr. Shelby again, but I ended up with Dr. Gosnell I believe it was? Anyway, she's awesome, the doctors here are really the reason I come back. I was not impressed with the front desk girls the first time I came in, and I wasn't the second time either. The first time the front desk argued with me about my insurance, only to find that she had someone else's info up, not mine. They're just not very welcoming or professional. I stood at the desk for a few minutes awkwardly waiting for them to take my payment while the talked about other patients. I definitely recommend this business for the doctors, they get 5 stars....just don't expect outstanding customer service from the rest of the staff. read more

I went to Cascade three years ago, and my husband had an appointment the same day. They rushed us through our appointments. The glasses my husband got were so far off of why he needed that it actually caused him eye pain, and he actually saw better without them than with them. He went back to wearing his old glasses because they actually helped. They told me that I didn't need glasses except for reading, and that was so incorrect as to be laughable. They way overcharged for the glasses we got too - close to $400 each, and it was just for simple lenses. No special coatings, bifocals, progressives, or color changing lenses, just normal every day glasses. We will never go here again, and suggest that you do not do so either. read more

Cascade Pacific Eyecare was my fourth try to find what I was looking for in an eyecare professional. At last I have found Dr. Shelby Robinson and her office, which is kind of like walking into a small town. I have a difficult contact lens prescription and wear RGP (rigid gas permeable) lenses, which are less common. In 2015, I tried a large, reputable place in Puyallup (also with the name "Cascade" in it), but the doctor was cold and impersonable, and the place was more like busy factory floor: move 'em in and out. A couple of years later, I tried a smaller office in Puyallup that was recommended, but the doctor didn't deal with RGP lenses. Then in 2019 I no longer had eye insurance and went to a big-box retailer. Huge mistake and a horrible experience for someone like me who has aging eyes, astigmatism, and extreme nearsightedness. The optometrist seemed uninterested and flummoxed. Upon someone's recommendation, I finally made it over to Dr. Robinson, who took time to listen to my concerns, review my records, and provide a thorough exam. She asked lots of questions, which was good. When I received my new lenses, we went through two rounds of adjustments, and voilá, I have comfortable, progressive RPG lenses and can see both up close and at distance, which was the tricky part for a more "mature" set of eyes. I also ordered new eyeglasses. Though they were on the pricey side (I have a very expensive prescription), I would rather order in person, knowing they can make adjustments and provide more personalized service than online. They are slow in returning phone calls, so you may have to be patient. They never did actually answer the phone; you have to leave a message and then wait for a callback. read more

The doctor was an awesome woman! She was friendly and completely competent. She made me feel comfortable and not at all judged. The woman who took me back for my initial exam was also very kind and helpful. And the woman working at the front desk was lovely. She was very sweet, knowledgeable and helped me out figuring out my coverage and even helped me pick out my cute new classes. The space was clean and had a kids corner. There are times when you wish there was the negative five star button available. Ghetto trashy eye doctor office and is so sketchy. Not only that rude argumentative receptionists make this an experience to remember. I can't believe I wasted my time at this establishment and then trying charge me for contact fitting and wasting my time. I told them what contacts I was in before and they argued the whole time and tried having me come back again. I never would go back here as this location is falling apart and outdated office. The staff at this eye office is so unprofessional. The staff was dressed as if they were going to the club, belly exposed and bare shoulders. The doctor had a mini skirt with no stockings. My daughter was waiting for a contact prescription and we waited for well over a hour. This place I wouldn't even recommend it to me blind deceased grandmother. read more

I have been dealing with Cascade Pacific Eyecare for about 12 years. During most of that time I have received good service. The exams and prescriptions were good. The glasses were good. They honored the warranty's on the lenses and frames that I purchased. One of the upgrades I have now have is the scratch resistant coating, and the lenses have visible scratches. When I selected options for the lenses I was told the scratch resistance has a one year warrantee. It has been less than a year since I purchased the glasses. So sometime in the last few years they changed lens manufacturer. Today I was told that they would not make good on the warrantee. I will not be going back. read more

They don't carry the line of scrip safety glasses I wanted, so gal in optical gal called around Tacoma and found an office who carries the line ...and excepts my insurance, sweet! Hi everyone...I just had my first eye exam in 2 years..wow and I chose cascade pacific eye. The first time that I called here and made my appointment I spoke to this polite elderly receptionist, she was so helpful and polite...I was like wow this place is cool. On 11/12/15 I had my actual exam and guess what I saw this cool lady who used to work at Stadium Vidro, which was my absolute favorite place to go to. We talked and laughed...the music was cool too. Dr. Gosnell called my name. First off, I was so impressed by her level of professionalism, not only did she took her time to make everything good but the level of passion she putted in her work was just superb...GO DR. GOSNELL...WOOO. I had my eyes dilated so I had to stay a little longer. Everything was awesome but I wished they had a brochure about pricing on frames...would definitely recommend this place again. read more
