My contact lens prescription expired, and having been disappointed with previous Optical Centers I…read morehad been with - I decided to try Target Optical, located @ my favorite Super Target in Fridley, MN. So glad I did -my experiences with all the staff members have been top-notch and I was happy with my eye exam. Dr. Chad is knowledgeable and easy to converse with if you have questions or need his suggestions My concern with contact lenses were with my dry eyes and allergies. I tried out Accuvue Oasys first which I tried the first trial week and which I did not have much success with, but the second brand I tried out CooperVision's Biofinity was a perfect fit and I love them! I used my Target Red card so I got my 5% off plus received a $15 gift card for purchase for a whole year, too. Also a rebate offer with my purchase from the Contact Lenses. Great Deal! The only complaint as an optical center is that there is a very small selection of frames to choose from for glasses...so if you need lots of selections to try out this may not be the Optical Center to go to. Although the guarantee and warranty that they provide seem pretty impressive, if you find a pair that you like from their selection (that would be all you need really). As for a contact lens wearer like me , I am happy with the quality service (10 x better than America's Best), and the cheaper price (MUCHO compared to Lenscrafters). I do love the convenience that it is located @ a Super Target that I frequent and it is open all days of the week, too.

He prescribed bifocals that never worked. Even after having them remade, I have been suffering and unable to see through them unless they were at the tip of my nose for a year. Today I discovered that they measured my PD completely wrong!! Off by 15mm in an rx of -8.0+ I have been terrified all year that my vision was going away because my mother had cataracts in her late 30s. Really terrible experience that decreased my quality of life until my insurance would pay for another exam. Additionally, the plastic rayban frames are the crappiest, lowest QA glasses I have ever had in almost four decades. Go somewhere else.

I used to love Fridley Optical and Brad. That being said... new ownership has taken over (AEG…read moreCorporation). The new people working there are awful. They have treated me with disrespect, very condescending and got very mean spirited when all I was trying to do was get my $417.00 refund back. They couldn't credit my credit card because they received a new card reader that would not credit accounts from the old system. They sent the first check to a wrong address. They make it out that it's my fault and I should go to the post office and straighten it out. Fridley is the one that wrote it wrong. They said they corrected it, but the second check went to the same wrong address, I was lucky enough the postman figured it out and I got it. I'm still waiting for a check from October and the act like they do t know how to take care of the problem. Today the business did not open!!! I think a professional business would put a message on the phone.

Dr. Petronak is still there and he's great, but the opticians are horrible. Someone else mentioned in a review that they're condescending and that description is spot on. The moment we walked in recently we noticed things had changed drastically. Brad, who was one of the kindest people ever, was gone due to personal reasons, but aside from his absence, the atmosphere was unprofessional and kind if Walmart-y. Frames and lenses are overpriced, warranty is a joke, and it's a disorganized zoo where no one is available to help you. Try to ask valid questions and the staff shuts you down. Don't count on anyone calling you when your glasses are ready to be picked up. You pretty much need to just stop in to ask someone since no one answers the phone when you call. I hope Dr. Petronak leaves before this place ruins his great reputation. Brad, everyone misses you and we hope you're doing okay.

They could have contacted me and either canceled the appointment or asked me to contact my retina specialist to have them resend the info. What a waste of time. I'm never going back.

From the check-in the staff was RUDE! I was told my insurance benefit was $5 off the exam which left my payment responsibility at something like $225. I asked why my exam cost at the Maplewood store has always been $0 with same insurance, the young lady became even more defensive. When I was about to leave another lady approached me and said if I wanted to self-pay without the insurance the exam cost would be $89, I walked out. Your staff clearly knows nothing about looking up insurance benefits. I went to your competition Shopko Optical to get my eye exam for FREE because of my insurance & they only billed the insurance company $86! I also spent $811 at Shopko Optical for my new glasses, they will be my new go to for glasses each year going forward!!!!! Les Jobst
