The woman at the check in desk was polite, OVER-THE-TOP helpful, very understanding and also had a great sense of humor. The doc was straightforward, insightful & knowledgeable. He gave great advice. I didn't dislike my previous optometrist, but I always felt like I was getting ripped off. The staff at Pearl Vision never made me feel that way. They offered reasonable and affordable options and made sure I would not miss the boat! So if you don't want to miss the boat, especially if you can't see it ... I've been to several eye places in town. I like this one the best. The owners are very friendly, they take our insurance and your glasses usually come in before they promise. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. When I was picking out my glasses everyone participated. Very helpful. read more

My family of 5 have all used this location and I was skeptical after seeing the awful reviews. I had another bad experience elsewhere and thought I am going commercial to see if climbing ladders is better after a bad experience. We had a great experience!! Lisa who handled my insurance was very knowledgeable and sweet. She actually shared I was over paying for my insurance and saved me money. Booking, changing times, experience was all wonderful. I did have to call to ask if my glasses came after two weeks but the wait was worth it. Glasses and prescription where spot on. Thank you all! read more

This was my first trip to Pearl Vision of Bluffton. Everyone who works there was friendly, and the folks I dealt with personally were knowledgeable and helpful. I had an appointment to see the optometrist and got in very close to my scheduled time. The optometrist was quick and apparently quite good, because he tweaked my prescription and I can now see better with the new prescription. Choosing the right frame is never easy. I didn't bring anyone with me, so I depended on Amanda, the technician, for advice. She and I got on the same page quickly and after trying on multiple frames (I don't know how she kept them all straight) she helped me decide on, what I think, is the perfect frame for me. She never made me feel rushed or that she needed to get to a new customer. She considered all the things a good technician looks at when fitting the right frame on the right face. Her measurements were right on; I have blended bifocals and was worried about possible problem since the RX was different. I needn't have worried! Amanda has a good sense of humor, and she made the whole "ordeal" fun, which I appreciated, but always she kept to the business at hand. Overall, it was a fine experience and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this store to anyone looking for new glasses. read more

I don't know what exactly changed at this location but they're not NEARLY as friendly as they used to be. Cold, unwelcoming and rude. When you walk in they just stare at you blankly, if you're talking with one person the others just stare from their own desks, and the girl I did speak too was incredibly short and snippy. I received outstanding service at Pearle Vision. Amanda assisted me - I had a vision prescription from my own ophthalmologist - and she proved to be knowledgeable about frames, fitting, insurance and other details involved. She was helpful and honest, guiding me from a pair that was great looking but ill fitting on me, and patient, given the myriad questions I had about optional but to me important features, such as glare protection, transitional lenses. Overall, I give her high marks and because of my experience in her care, these carry over to Pearle Vision. read more

The Dr got my prescription wrong, not once but twice and wanted me to come in for round 3. I think I will pass! My prescription is not complex... I'm only nearsighted and even then it's not that bad. I've never had this issue in all my years of eye exams. Save your time & money. Go somewhere else. The ladies working there are friendly and it's not their fault the Dr cannot get it right, but I'm there for my eyes and need it done correctly. read more

I went here today for my eye exam and well of course for new glasses as I broke my frames and they weren't under warranty. I found my frames here last week. They have a huge selection of designer frames. The staff, the tech and Dr. Smith were so professional, pleasant, kind and helpful. They were particularly helping me choose my new frames. The frames are buy one get one free (sorry only 1 person to 2 frames, can't share). This offer is good until October 1, 2015. I will get my glasses within 7-10 days. I will go back next year for another yearly check up exam. read more

I've been a long time customer of Pearle Vision, but I'm now a very dissatisfied customer. They no longer are willing to replace prescription lenses (since my prescription changed) in some older frames. They've also decided they only want to carry a few Oakley sunglasses frames, which is a small fraction of their previous selection read more

If you need a prescription and plan on going online to save hundreds-don't go to Pearle-charge you 90 dollars and will refuse to give you your PD claiming some type of "liability" if they give you the wrong measurement. I had a disappointing experience at this store and can't recommend it to others. An order for new specs came in a week later with the wrong prescription installed. The store clerk acknowledged the error was on their side rather than my doctor's, and promised that new lenses would be expedited. A week later they still had not arrived and despite daily calls to the store, nobody there could provide me any information on the order or made much of an attempt to accommodate my growing dissatisfaction. The correct lenses finally arrived eighteen days after the original order - it actually took longer to get the correct lenses than to get the wrong ones. I understand that mistakes happen, but effort should then be made to make up for the mistake and manage expectations, rather than make promises that won't be followed through on. I give this store two stars for a good selection of frames but zero for customer service. read more
