I don't get it. How can this place have such good reviews? They really did a number on my fixer-upper. They quoted me one price, but then oops, look at all these new charges that they weren't aware of when they started working. I can understand if they ripped open a wall and found bad wiring, that would make sense, but they started with supplies, time, labor, are you serious? Then I was talking to the contractor doing the work and he told me they just hire him on a job-to-job basis, basically freelance. He was telling me how the quote I was given (had to show him what the company was talking about) was no where near enough to finish the job and he wasn't even getting paid what the labor was quoted for. So they were cheating this poor guy too. He's probably not licensed, or documented, or something. The Owner, Doron, then tries to call and start with all this sweet talking and how's he's so, so sorry, and "not sure what was said to me" by the estimator employee. All of a sudden they need to "find out" and "look into" the problem when I told him I will be posting my reviews. Come on, at least play fair. If you're going to charge more for something, be upfront about it. Am I being targeted because there's no "man" in my house? Geez, totally unfair and unethical way to do business. Probably should report them to the Contractor's board, whatever CA has in it's place. Ended with an "understanding" and an incomplete job that I have to get finished. Lost my retainer and half of what I further paid. I don't know why most people changed their ratings back to 5 stars when they clearly stated that the company had a problem, but then "fixed" it after speaking to the CEO, or owner, etc. That's not the way business should be done. You shouldn't cheat people, get caught, then apologize for what you intentionally did and try to "work" things out. Come on! It's not a good feeling to live in a construction zone in your own home. I've learned my lesson. read more

My Casita. Thank you Pearl Remodeling for making my dream come true. Vlad was my Project Manager, and Ari was the foremen. I was about to throw in the towel, but my daughter did a bit of research and asked me to check out Pearl Remodeling, because of the reviews. This is why I'm doing a review for "You" the person who is apprehensive and nervous about making that move. As a single woman ready to retire I was scared of letting go of my hard earned money. You hear horror stories about contractors and after meeting 5 other contractors I was ready to give up. But my kids didn't want me to give up my dream, so I met with Vlad, and he listened. He didn't try to over talk me, or over sell me, he listened, and gave me food for thought. He was patient and respectful. It's just stunning. We did NOT have very high hopes when we first sought out to remodel our extremely tiny (4'x7') bathroom. The original homeowners did the best they could with the space but over the years it sustained significant water damage and was just generally outdated and bland (see "before" photos). When we started taking quotes Ben from Pearl Remodeling came in excited to take on the challenge. He immediately got to work and sent us a full schedule of work dates, as well as a place to upload all of our design elements (tile, faucet, vanity, etc.). We loved that we were empowered to choose all our own items instead of just picking from a handful of available options. At times this was stressful (see "during" photos), but we ended up with the most gorgeous space that much better reflects our style and the style of our home (see "after" photos!). Their work schedule was extremely tight, but they were very timely and got this job done in record time. Every worker who came into our space was SO nice and respectful, and you could tell that Ben had a very good relationship and took pride in his crew, they were all a pleasure to work with for the entire job. As a woman working with contractors, I cannot tell you how refreshing it was that I never once heard any of them say "is your husband around" or anything even remotely like that. Even after the remodel we've continued to stay in touch with Ben and have nothing but great things to say about our experience. We recommend him to everyone we know! read more

What a great experience with a group of professionals!! After reading all reviews on yelp I was hoping I would get the same experience most of these people were talking about, sure enough Marco comes out not only does he know construction but is also personable and honest. Its tough to find a good honest contractor these days Marco is one of them. I had a different contractor give me a bid cheaper than Marco but I decided to go with Marco since he was honest about a electrical problem that the other contractor had said it all had to be rewired, like the old saying goes go with your gut instinct! I didn't want any surprises as most these guys have so I thought I'd go with Marco since he said he would have his electrician inspect for the problem then he could price me, sure enough it was an easy fix that was put in for the initial price, at the point I knew I could trust these guys to where I would leave my keys back while golfing for them to go into my place and access my bathroom since they were working in the garage. To make long story short they added drywall in the garage, installed light fixtures, patched all walls, installed a door and painted entire garage and too not forget fixed the issue for the electrical that may of cost me additional for free all work looks amazing were ready for the next remodel with Pearl Remodeling which will be our kitchen next year!! I highly recommend Pearl Remodeling for their workmanship, great attitude and professionalism. I hired them to install an aluminum patio cover along the entire length of my garage, where a dilapidated trellis existed. Izhak ("Isaac"), the project manager, really listened to what I wanted, clearly explained the breadth of the project and was readily available when I had questions or concerns. For instance, the installation meant my 2 existing outdoor floodlights would need to be removed. Izhak worked it out such that the wiring for the floodlights was routed through conduit and made available for future lighting I plan to install along the garage wall. The team of workers, headed up by Elan and including Jose, Nick, Sully and Al, was great! The old trellis was removed quickly, but skillfully-- They deconstructed it with accurate hammer bangs rather than smashing it up. The whole job, from demo to finished aluminum patio cover, was 85% done by end of the 1st day, and all finished after about 90 minutes of work on the 2nd day. I have a swimming pool which is in very close proximity to the work they did and yet they managed to get the work done beautifully without any apparent trouble. I now have a fantastic patio cover and can finally entertain in this great outdoor space with shaded furniture--- Thanks to "Isaac" and the entire Pearl Remodeling team! read more

Just completed the renovation of a 65-year-old bathroom and I could not have selected a finer company than Pearl Remodeling (Lic. # 955824) and Project Manager Izhak (pronounced Isaac). As my first reno, I did not know what to expect or who to trust. A friend referred me to Pearl, and I was blessed beyond measure to have been given Izhak as our project manager. From Day 1, he assured me that he would a) walk with us through each step, b) be available or would call back immediately, and c) would go with us to select tile. He even found a wonderful vanity vendor! Izhak's word is his bond. He did all of what he promised and more. He is friendly, communicative and a man of his word. The entire crew of contract workers that Pearl assembled was efficient and took great pride in their work. That was MOST important to me - QUALITY WORK. The result was beyond my expectations. We did have setbacks that were outside of the scope of the contract with mold and subterranean termites, but Izhak found or recommended the subcontractors to handle it all and I could not have been more pleased. A Pearl contract comes with liability/worker's compensation insurance, and quality control. Payments are made in stages. This was a top-notch experience for us, and I am committed to working with Izhak and this company in the future. read more

Marco is glue that made this deal slide through. I don't trust contractors, but after showing up on time, speaking intelligibly about the said topic for more than an hour, and managing not to step on his foot with ill-advised non-sense, Marco passed the eye-ball test. I was right, this guy knows what he's doing, knows what he's talking about, and so I felt reasonably confident that he could get the job done. His team of workers exceeded my expectations. They under promised, and over delivered, finishing the project well before the deadline, and even threw in some extra's that made the design unique which was a nice personal touch. Back to Marco for a second. He is really good. He comes across like that one neighbor you know, that you can really relate to, and depend on. At the same time, this is business, and Marco is very adept at moving from "like a good neighbor mode" with jokes and laughs to, "sir I understand you have a lot of money riding on this, and I am going to completely get the job done, and exceed your expectations" mode. I had a lot of questions, and Marco was always 1 touch away, and he always answered the call. Pearl Remodeling has a great asset with Marco on their team. After several weeks of research and conducting interviews I ended up choosing Pearl Remodeling. Gal was assigned to me as the project manager. He was honest and upfront with the cost. Communication was easy. He was prompt and responsive to our questions. It was evident that he's passionate about his work and that he was eager to get the job and get the job done right from start to finish which was something to appreciate. After the preliminary designs, we come to find out that what we envisioned with our renovation would be over our budget. We were in deliberation whether to scale down the project or put a halt on the project. The decision did not come easy as we had had invested much time on it. Gal had put forth much effort into the project as well. It was very disappointing for both parties. Lastly, there was the cost of the design contract. After speaking with Jacob, Pearl Remodeling ended up sharing the cost of the design with us. This was a loss they were willing to shoulder to help their customers. Pearl Remodeling offers high-end customer service and construction work. I had the pleasure of working with Gal who made sure that I was always satisfied throughout the whole remodeling process. The best part is that he was reachable anytime through text, phone, and email. I've completely remodeled my master bedroom bathroom and upgraded from carpet to hardwood floors in my bedroom. In the bathroom I've upgraded to tiles on the floor and the walls and swapped my 1980s tub with a brand new whirlpool tub with frame-less glass doors. I've also upgraded my stand-up shower. I also upgraded the vanity counter top as well as brand new sinks and faucets, etc... Pearl Remodeling can do it all with piece of mind. They might be expensive, however, you truly get what you pay for, till the very last touch-up. We hired Pearl Remodeling to install a solar energy system for our home. We have been thinking about installing solar panels for our home for a long time now and quite frankly, I have no Idea why we didn't do this many years ago. Pearl send over Ortal who provided us with information about their system, the warranty, timing and even loan options. She answered all of our questions without hesitation and has been in touch with us all the way until final. She said that the unit will be installed and start producing power within 2 months and surprisingly enough, they were able to obtain the permit so fast that the unit was up and running less than 3 weeks after we sign. Everything about it is perfect. My husband and I are both creative people so attention to detail is key for us. Did we run into some hiccups along the way, sure, but that's bound to happen with an older home.The biggest plus was that Jacob oversaw the job himself and was more available, responsive, and accountable than any other contractor or project manager we've ever worked with. They are professional, on time, keep their word and their quality is amazing. They will make sure that every tiny detail will be in fact perfect. We hired Ben and Pearl Remodeling to remove the soffit in our hallway and completely remodel our guest bathroom. Ben was honest about the work at hand and gave us an appropriate quote and timeline when other contractors were just trying to get the job and would probably up charge us later. He was incredibly communicative from day 1 and super easy to reach if we had any questions or concerns. The workers were respectful and efficient, especially since we had to complete the job during quarantine and move in with family during the process. We have lived in our home for over forty years and have dealt with many service people, remodelers and construction workers. None of them compare to the outstanding job performed by Ken and his crew. I contacted Pearl to help with my garage conversion. I wanted to build a one bedroom, one bathroom, living room and a small kitchen. I was working with Ori, the project manager. He was great. I had a lot of questions and he answered each question. He was very patient and professional. They helped with the architectural drawings and getting the necessary permits from the city. Also, there was a DWP easement on my property and they worked with DWP to get that approval. I would highly recommend Pearl for any remodeling/construction job you may have. Gal came out for an estimate and had spent a long time explaining what needs to be done and gave me an estimate.
