I took a dip in the swimming pool and found it refreshing. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Camp store is well stocked (camper accessories available). They will deliver firewood and bags of ice (2 bag / 2 bundle minimum) right to your site on a golf cart! The bathrooms were large, clean and well stocked. Grounds are well maintained. Would definitely come back to this place!

When brought up to the DCR they said it's useless to enforce this. Looks like I will not be camping at Willard Brook State Park again.

So I figured no notice is on the website, it must be open. Nope. There was a big red flag that said no swimming. This is something they should have noted on alerts. Instead the only notice was about trying to get little kids vaccinated. If you just want to hike you'll be fine, but the once fast moving brook has really shrunk up into a stagnant fraction of its former self. It reminds me of the negative transformation of the beach at Pearl Hill State Park over the past several decades. It's sad.

The campground itself is secluded and quiet. There are spots for RV and tent camping. Bathrooms are extremely clean and well kept. The lady that runs it is super nice, but don't speed on her grounds or she will destroy you. The lake is home to all kinds of wildlife and teeming with fish. Whether you have a ski boat or a canoe it is accommodating! Overall a great place to get away and enjoy nature!! Just don't tell anyone I told you about the secret spot.

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! we went there for the 4th of july and it was absolutely beautiful. we were…read moresurrounded by hundreds of hispanic people with music, food and they even allow alcohol. plenty of places to swim and they even have a dock with a water slide. it cost $10 on a holiday for parking and that includes using their grills and picnic tables so thats really good. get their about an hour and a half before they open so you can get a great spot!!!! although the lake is no more than a 3 minute walk from the farthest point. the only down side was that i couldnt bring my puppies :o( no dogs allowed. they also allow boating and water skiing. they have bathrooms inside as well as porta pottys and a little store on the property in case you forget anything.

There was a comment made during adult bingo, and someone said "lynch him lynch him" naturally as someone part of the bipoc community, I IMMEDIATELY felt uncomfortable. In addition, someone stated, "come as you are" & multiple other people said "this is a family campground." Yet, then proceeded to talk about...upside down pineapples, (look up the meaning) and other things. Again, this was an adult bingo, and I don't mind raunchy, but those were very discriminatory statements made. In addition, the "seasonal" campers, or possible group campers made us feel VERY uncomfortable at the pool.

Lorraine Campground at Harold Parker State Forest is one of the best camping locations in Mass.,…read moreespecially if you want to be in the woods and yet be close to civilization. The ~4000 acre forest has a dedicated entrance to the campground with several rangers assigned to it. The sites can be extremely spacious and isolated or be smaller and more social. It really is your choice. Safe swimming, fishing, bike riding, and hiking are abundant. The educational programs are posted, including weekly hikes, bike rides, and fishing lessons (they provide everything for novices). They even have a bonfire on Sat. nights during the camping season. The bathrooms are cleaned daily and are typically in excellent condition, including free showers and hot water. A donation is requested for the mandatory kiln-dried firewood ($5/bundle or $10/3 bundles). All sites have potable water. No sites have electricity. Alcohol is prohibited (and this is posted prominently). People who get caught drinking (typically because they are obnoxious) are asked to leave immediately. The state police barracks is just down the road, so help is nearby if others get rowdy. It is amazing to really be in the woods so close to Boston. Booking a site in advance online is highly recommended; walk-ins/drive-ups are permitted if there is space available. The fees are extremely reasonable ($12/night).
