However Rick and Scott are very honest and transparent mechanics. They are so kind and they have reasonable prices. They gave me reassurance throughout my whole process and they do great and efficient work. After my vehicle was at the shop overnight I drove away today feeling a little more at ease and much safer behind the wheel. Rick and his mechanics lack of attention and knowledge of a 2011 Ford caused my belt to come off and almost crashed my car on the freeway after I had him replace it. I didn't even make it 10 miles off of his lot before my car stopped working completely. I called, left a message, never heard back & I got it towed back to his shop the next day just for him to have no remorse and be extremely rude and raise his voice at a young lady and keep blaming my car just because 2 grown man can't admit they messed up. My dad talked to the mean old man Rick, the owner, and he took another 5 hours to "check it out" & tell us to come back just to say it was my car & something was bent so he couldn't properly put it on. That dent was never there. He was just covering himself, I believe he's shiesty and bent it himself just to blame my car & saying I need a pulley on my alternator replaced. Rick finally put on the belt CORRECTLY after & I drove to another mechanic who said it looks like someone took my alternator out & dropped it. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU ARE A FEMALE IN NEED THESE PEOPLE ARE UNTRUSTWORTHY AND DISRESPECTFUL & EVEN CREEPY TO WOMEN. They literally put my life in danger and just yelled abt it & covered it up; never apologized, never cared. Lawsuits will be filed. read more

It's a shame we dont feel the same way as other reviews here. A friend recommended this place to my dad. This guy ripped my dad off so hard. Wasnt able to fix the problem on my dads car, had to return twice! Kept chargring for anything he could find. After already paying out 250$ to fix a damn oil leak, he wanted him to pay 385 to keep GUESSING what the solution might be. Ended up just taking the car back to have someone else fix it. Might just take this to small claims court. read more

I had my car serviced to diagnose a clanking sound coming from rear driver side. The Peanuts Auto technician determined that my last mechanic failed to replace the braking clips and reused the old ones instead. They have also found the pads were wearing unevenly. They have corrected the problem. I just want to say Peanuts Auto Repair is definitely honest and professional. They have my business. PS: Stay away from Firestone and Evans Tire. I had my brakes done here about 9 months ago. A few weeks after my brakes were finished I got a flat tire. I went to put on my spare and as I was removing one of my lug nuts I noticed that it wasn't budging. I ended up having to call triple A. They told me that the lug nut was either stretched or misthreaded and it caused the whole stud to break off. I went back to Peanuts and explained that they were the last ones to put my wheels on. They ended up telling me that it was my fault because I took the wheel off incorrectly (I've put plenty of spare tires on with no issue). They charged me $50 for a new stud and labor. Fast forward to 9 months down the road, I've had 2 other studs literally just fall off of my vehicle and I am currently sitting in an auto repair shop. They just told me that even more of the studs broke off while trying to take the wheels off and that whoever put these on majorly over tightened them and that is why they are breaking off. Very upset that peanuts tried to tell me it was my fault, it is clear now what happened and I will not be giving any more business to them. read more

So I woke up at 2:30pm like I always do (don't judge... I work evenings) and remembered my Gina needed an oil change. Welp, most places close by 5pm and require an appointment. I checked on my trusty Yelp and it gave me some options. The one that looked most promising was Peanut's. I called and spoke to Scott who was very friendly and was willing to squeeze me in. So I drove a mile down the road from where I live and it's not the easiest of places to find but I pulled up around 4pm. First thing I noticed was a big Bulldog laying in the lobby. Scott tells me his name is Mugsy Malone and he's very friendly. Few minutes into my conversation with Scott, Mugsy rouses himself, lift his giant wrinkly head up, and levels a drowsy gaze at me. Then he saunters over, gives a cursory sniff, headbutts my leg, then with his curiosity satisfied, wanders over behind the counter. Now, down to brass tacts. I ask for an oil change and he scrolls through a menu of items and clicks on the one that says "$68.00" I presume nothing until he brings up the final estimate. $77 for an oil change?!?! He sees the shock on my face and explains that his guys aren't kids. Now, I'm a bit confused what the hell that means. He further explains that the mechanics here are all ASE certified and this demand more pay for their services. That's great that they can pass fifth grade English (have you read what ASE Certifications require?) but I'm still not about to shell out a Benji just to get a routine 3K mile oil change! After twice confirming that $77 is indeed the price for just the oil change - his additional explanation being that Infiniti is a luxury car - and does not include anything else, I thank him for his time and walked out. Pros: Very friendly, obliging, ever patient, and explains each step of the process. Cons: $77 for an oil change?! No, thank you. read more

I guess this is the place to go if you've got a VW. Limped my JEEP over here because they had the best yelp reviews in the area and I needed my Jeep fixed that day. Check engine light pulled a few codes, including cam and crank sensor problems, as well as a charging problem. They rebuilt the alternator and put in a rebuilt distributor. Thanks for the work, guys. Just wish the labor rates weren't so high. If I wasn't in a bind, I would have fixed everything myself for less than half the cost with NEW parts. read more

To make a long story short, this is the only shop I will be visiting from now on. I dropped in based on the reviews. Larry an his dog, and indeed all of the gentlemen working at the shop, were immediately friendly and welcoming. Although the shop was busy, I was told I would be in and out in 15 minutes. My car had some superficial fender damage that was making this awful noise when the hanging plastic rubbed my tire. Fifteen minutes and fifteen dollars later, I was out and it was fixed. I have an older dodge truck that was leaking coolant. I thought it might be a radiator hose, but when I brought it in, Scott knew exactly what was wrong and showed me the issue himself. They were straight forward and honest about everything, and explained it all to me very clearly. I'm military, so my pockets obviously aren't deep, so they found me a part for less than half the price that a dealership would charge, and on top of that, Scott came in on his day off to get my truck all fixed up and back on the road. This is the best shop I've ever been to, and if I ever have any other problems these will be the guys I call. I can't say enough good about the shop or the mechanics. This place is definitely an honest mechanic and I will 100% be always coming back for any car troubles. I brought my 2005 Acura TL to be diagnosed and Scott was a huge help. To diagnose they normally charge about $80 for any severe problems but because it was an easy check they charged me only $33. They found my transmission had slipped and needed to be replaced or rebuilt. Unfortunately they don't work on transmissions anymore but they helped explain what kind of stuff to search for in another mechanic and referred us to one of the people they have worked with before. Scott was seriously a huge help, personally I know nothing about cars but he helped explain what was wrong in a way that made sense and made sure to explain what other stuff to look for to make sure other mechanics don't try to rip me off. As a broke college student this really helped out a lot. Rick, the owner, was out of town - but Scott was pretty great and I don't doubt these guy's experience. Thank you for the help Scott! Off one star for a bad deal. Off one for the worry. Off three for a fee without results that I couldn't afford in the first place. I haven't the money to pursue further repair options after their first attempt didn't find the problem. I had the car in to them for an engine misfire (one cylinder of five had the misfire) Not the first time I've seen a misfire for the same problem..no one ever figured it our. Codes kept reading misfire. At Peanuts, they decided to change the coils between cylinders to see if "somehow" that would solve the problem (various marks of coils had been used with mechanics as I had pursued solution for a misfire before) Charged me $500. I'm out of work, needed to borrow this, but Peanuts had so many good recommendations i figured it was worth the economic pain. Not so. Even with the determined misfire, the engine always sounded great, turned on without problem and idled smooth. After Peanuts switched the coils, it still sounds OK, but I detect a small difference in the smoothness of the engine when running. Point one of my discontent! $500 for NOTHING! :'( Point two: I have someone seriously interested in purchasing the car (son bought me a newer one), even knowing of the misfire and that tiny bit of difference in idle I'm afraid may be cause for question on buyers' part. The change in coils between cylinders DID NOT FIX the problem and no way can I afford to return for whatever more they "feel like" trying. I guess my discontent is that what they tried didn't work and it cost me $500, with the only option being that they "try again" and charge me. read more

The clutch went Limp on my 71 VW Bug. I towed it to Peanuts ( as they were highly recommended here on yelp) When I called and explained my problem. Rick knew exactly what it was and quoted me an estimated price, and that was the cost for that part. While they were working on the car, they informed me that my master brake cylinder was going out. ( I had been having issues with my brakes but thought they just needed to be bled, I didn't tell Rick about this) I was impressed that they called me to tell me. I approved this work too. They showed me all the old parts and what the issues were. They even tightened up a few little things for me. Their customer service was impeccable My Car runs like a champ. there were no games, they were straight across the board with me. My Car was in and out within 1 day.
