My mother-in-law just passed away in this facility. She passed from complications following a…read morebrain bleed from a fall under their "care." This was after she got kicked in the stomach by another resident, her purse was stolen, and she was neglected and ignored by many. She never received a documented care plan and all we experienced was routine shoulder shrugging. There are a lot of sad parts of this long story but few are as pathetic as the fact that the only time we feel their sense of urgency is now, on Yelp where they're suddenly interested in talking. That says everything to our family about this facility's priorities.

Families, please do your research…read more What I witnessed at this facility was a huge gap between what was promised and what was delivered in terms of care. The administration is not only poorly managed but seems indifferent to the well-being of its residents. The turnover rate for staff is alarmingly high, which speaks volumes about the toxic work environment and lack of training or support provided to employees. As a result, the level of care my mother received was inconsistent at best, and at worst, neglectful. Some of the staff were caring people, without a doubt, but staff were frequently overwhelmed, confused and unfamiliar with residents due to turnover. Communication from the administration to families was almost nonexistent. When I reached out with concerns, I was met with indifference or vague reassurances that were never followed through on. Clearly, the main concern of the administration is profits. This is not the kind of care anyone deserves, especially our senior loved ones who should be treated with dignity and respect.

As a family member of someone who is addicted to alcohol, I am grateful to Healing Transitions…read more They offer a wonderful, free, family support class each Wed. night. The first 30 minutes are educational with a topic area or a guest speaker. The other great thing about HT is that their motto is to never turn anyone away. Anyone who knows someone or has struggled themselves with addiction can tell you it's nearly impossible to find a place that will take someone for free for more than a few days. Their program is designed to get the person with addiction to be able to be independent with money saved (due to partnerships with employers) by the time they graduate from the program, which I think is 14-18 months long, if the person is committed. HT can even help with transportation, at times. Even though they don't do medical detox, they will take your loved one to the hospital if medical detox is needed. Some people aren't ready to complete the program on the first try or the third try, but they do come back. The family program is also helpful so that family members understand their role in the addiction cycle. I give HT 5 starts for their commitment and their mission to not turn anyone away.

They feed him a 4:30 pm. I started reviewing the reviews and they were horrified at the time we knew what we had to do. We return the next morning to pick him up and we were greeted by a very unprofessional staff member who kept stating no visitation until the weekend. My husband and I thought we were going to fight to get our son. I finally told another staff member what we were told the day before and we were not leaving without our son. Please do not send anyone you love to this establishment.

BUYER BEWARE!!! My mother was a resident of Preston Pointe,…read morean independent senior living facility, for less than one month when she fell and broke her arm. The financial burden and stress which occurred next would completely take my family by surprise. When we moved Mom out of my house to a separate living situation, I wanted to make it her last move and ensure that her needs would be met without needing to move her again. Grant Fessler, the "Lifestyle Counselor", provided me with the impression that she would be able to transition in place if she needed more care. That proved to be a totally false statement. What happened was that we were required to pay an on-site service $22 per hour for 24-hour care if Mom was to remain at Preston Pointe once she completed her rehabilitation elsewhere. The 24-hour care requirement was put in place to ensure her safety and well-being, according to the staff I spoke with. With the cost of her living arrangements, that put her monthly cost at OVER $30,000. My main complaint is that Preston Pointe misled me. If they were really an organization that was focused first on care and less on profitability, they would have been very specific up-front about what it would cost for me to safely emulate their requirements for an assisted-living level of care at Preston Pointe. When my Mother returned from her rehabilitation, they required that my Mother have 24-hour care in order to protect their liability and that is all. I brought to their attention that my Mother did not need 24-hour care one-on-one but that was their requirement. I could not get anyone to budge on this requirement. This care was provided by an external company named Comfort Keepers. Comfort Keepers has a contract to provide the on-site care needed by residents of Preston Pointe. The Comfort Keepers person was limited in training and did not even have a CNA under their requirements. Essentially, I was paying for a glorified baby-sitter. I was livid. I had no recourse but to move my Mother to a dedicated Assisted Living Facility and out of Preston Pointe. I would advise that anyone who is looking into senior living for their elderly parents or other relatives ask some very pointed questions when a facility claims they can provide more than one level of care. Those questions should be centered around what does each level of care entail and what is the typical cost. I was blind-sided by this additional cost by a slick sales person who tried to convince me everything was do-able and that everything would be OK. He even told me that the 60-day move out notice would be waived if my Mother had to move for medical reasons or passed away. Again, the reality was that that did not happen. I also did not even get credit for the meals that my Mother did not eat while she was in rehabilitation for three weeks! Buyer beware! I would advise everyone not rush into these very emotional decisions about your loved ones. Use the experience of others to try avoiding complications for your future. Think about their entire lifespan left and the fact that you might need to move them more than once. I also advise anyone who thinks they need multiple levels of care available to pick a facility that says up front that they offer Independent Care and Assisted Living. There are very few standards that these businesses are held accountable to and so that means different things at different places.
