Alan worked on restoring my movement and stability after suffering for a long period of time with a sciatic nerve and piriformis muscle injury. I'm doing so much better. When I started therapy, I was struggling to walk; I am walking fine now. The therapy took time, but it was well worth every second. Ivy was always the lifter of my spirit and my hope. Her wonderful smile and excellent sense of humor kept me laughing and working towards improvement; it paid off. The other Peak Performance staff members are absolutely wonderful as well. I went in because I had some persistent neck stiffness from all the video editing I do. I've been to many chiropractors and massage therapists in the past, but never had any significant results from the treatments. The stiffness and pain was still there. Todd and his staff spent considerable time identifying the source of pain and walked me through exercises that stretched and strengthened problem areas that caused the pain. Love peak performance! Came here after a shoulder surgery and thanks to Todd and Jerome my shoulder recovered its range of motion and strength just within a couple of months! I came in here with a knee injury from snowboarding and I could hardly bend my knee without experiencing pain. And my leg muscles had diminished from not using it. It was a mess. As I limped inside the facility, I was greeted by Letty and Silvia who are the just the two sweetest women I've ever known. They took care of my insurance, billing, and scheduling and worked with me so that I would be able to fit in my therapy even though I had a very busy schedule at work. Todd evaluated me on my first visit inside a private room and explained how my therapy was going to go. He designed a specific program for my rehabilitation with exercises and stretches to get my range of motion back to normal and regain my strength. After the evaluation, all my exercises were done in an open gym area where the therapists and aides could keep a closer eye on me and make sure I was doing the exercises correctly. The staff was very attentive to everyone inside the facility. They worked as a team making sure everyone in rehab were being attended to. I often saw Alan as my secondary therapist if my schedule didn't permit me to come in early. Both therapists knew a lot about my injury and worked with me in achieving my goals! Exercises were also monitored by the aides, Jerome, Monique, and Leanel. Those guys do a great job working together with all the patients that come in the door. My overall experience here at Peak Performance PT was great! The entire Staff was very amazing, my knee is back to normal. And I can go back to snowboarding next season! read more

Both physical therapists I'm seeing are wonderful (Katie and Alan). They are supportive and knowledgeable, helping a lot for my treatment. The receptionist could do better in communication, though. She got confused with my insurance and later found out SHE was wrong. But during the process she was very impatient as if I caused the issue. I have a session on Wednesdays since late 2018. In 2019, I had my first session on 01/02. Before that I updated my insurance information. Nothing has changed and they charged me only the co-pay as usual. Today (01/09) when I got there, she told me there is a deductible for my policy and I need to pay an extra $80 dollars. Since I was in an EPO plan and was pretty sure there is no deductible, I decided to call my insurance to double check. I also told the receptionist for the session of 01/02, they did tell me there was no deductible in my 2019 insurance and charged co-pay only. She insisted on the deductible. While I was connecting with my insurance company, the receptionist was very impatient, keeping asking me to pay for and start my session first, as if I was the one to blame for the confusion. She could have called me about the deductible before I came for the session (she had indeed called me for other reasons before), so that we didn't have to waste time there. Later she found that she was wrong and there was no deductible. I ended up wasting 20 minutes calling my insurance company, while getting blamed for wasting the time because of HER confusion, and missing my 3pm appointment and having to wait for another 10 minutes for the 3:30pm slot read more

I had a rotator cuff tear surgery. Recovery of a rotator cuff massive tear surgery is a complicated matter. I went through 12 weeks of physical therapy at Peak Performance. They were competent and caring. Everyone there was helpful and attentive. The atmosphere of the place is relaxed, comforting, Friendly and encouraging. My therapist was Todd. He was excellent. Being owner and manager, he is a busy man. One thing I had to learn in working with him was that he has you in his care even if he is multi tasking 10 tasks. In the beginning I felt a bit neglected. But, I underestimated his multi tasking capabilities. He always attended to my concerns, gave me right therapy and good advice. Another positive mention I wish to make is Jason. Jason was particularly helpful in working details of exercises. Bottom line: Excellent! 5 stars. read more

I've been going to PT on and off for many, many years and have never been able to get the results I've gotten from PPPT. The healthcare industry can sometimes feel cold, like you are just another number, but at PPPT, you feel like they really care about you. I worked primarily with Alan, who is awesome! I also had a few visits with Dipali and Katie and as far as I can tell, all the therapists are great. They really care about improving your condition, and not just so you are no longer in pain, but to a point where you will stay pain free. At other places, I went in for my set number of sessions and just kept doing the same things even though it only helped marginally. At PPPT, they saw that improvement was limited and kept trying new things until they found the root cause. When I was able to get my range of motion back, they then worked with me to come up with a strengthening regiment so I could sustain my new healthy condition. They also really thought outside the box to modify my exercises so I could maintain them at home with a new baby. For example, I could lift my baby in a certain way instead of lifting weights, which ended up being fun for both of us! As a mom, I also appreciated that they were flexible with scheduling, and modifying the session if I needed to head home early. At the same time, I never felt rushed at my sessions and definitely felt like it was worth my time to find childcare so I could make my sessions. Lastly, and most importantly, going to PT was actually a pleasant experience. The environment is fun, music is always playing, it seems like everyone is happy and likes working together, the staff know your name and ask how you are doing. They even all dress up on Halloween and decorate for the holidays. read more

Before I went to Peak Performance, I had gone to another physical therapy facility awhile ago for a knee problem. I thought that facility was great and requested it after my hip replacement surgery. But after the surgery, I was referred to Peak performance by a reliable ortho surgeon. He said that Peak Performance was better because you get personal attention. and I thought, yeah, yeah. Hot dang!, the doc was right. I was impressed . I am really picky when it comes to customer service, given that I have run into crappy customer service that runs the gamut of businesses. This place , however, totally deserves 5 stars. I won't go into my own physical therapy regimen, but I will share with all of you that every person at Peak Performance is attentive, kind, professional and are multi-taskers. Todd, one of the owners and a physical therapist, has eyes in the back of his head, and maybe Neeva, too, the other owner, physical therapist. They would be with another patient, and I would hear, "watch the hip!" or "slow down". I didn't take offense. It is all for the best! Trust me. I wanted that feedback because it only helps. Those two cracked me up!!!! Their sense of humor is infectious. They can blend the humor with their technical know-how and compassion. When either of them or the rest of the awesome staff, Jerome, Katy, Leanel, or Monique (did I leave anybody out that worked w/me?) would notice I needed correcting during the exercises, they would tell me and I noticed the difference instantly. After all, if they are not paying attention and correct you, why waste your time doing the exercises? Would be my own stupidity to not listen. The staff were always available to ask questions about why and how a specific exercise would help my recovery. No matter how often I asked the same question, they were always professional, patient and compassionate in their answers. I would love to brag about them individually, but I don't know if you all reading this would continue reading. Let us not forget Sylvia and Letty. The two hilarious people who keep the business organized! They were always professional, but with such compassion and humor. I never had to worry about the accuracy of the scheduling nor the payments. Towards the end, I got to see Sylvia more often, She was a sweetheart: warm, kind, professional and so personable. Everybody has a wonderful sense of humor. Each person gets to know you and calls you by your first name. It's like the old tv show, "Cheers", where everybody knows your name. After suffering for 5 months with a hip injury, I finally found time to pursue physical therapy. In just 3 weeks (2 visits per week) I was back to my normal self and exercising with no pain! Peak Performance in Fremont came highly recommended by my Physical Medicine doctor with Palo Alto Medical Foundation. While I've been through PT at other places that had more space, equipment, and personalized attention by the therapists, I thoroughly enjoyed my Peak Performance PT experience. It's the positive family attitude by the staff that made the difference. Everyone seems to really enjoy working there and makes an effort to get to know each patient personally. I had no problems getting appointments on my first choice days. I highly recommend going when it's less busy and less crowded if possible. Generally, one therapist time slices to work with 2-4 patients at any given time. Unlike other practices where you may have a dedicated therapist throughout your appointment, here I was first assessed by the owner/director Todd Walker. Then due to vacation schedules, I hooked up with Alan Fong and stayed with him the rest of the time. The chemistry was great right off the bat and I felt like he really listened and heard my concerns and addressed my questions and even adjusted our routine to supplement my at home exercises. I also enjoyed my interactions with Monique, Jerome, and Leanelle. Like with anything, the more you put into your rehab the more you'll get out of it. However, you're much more likely to stick with your rehab if you enjoy the people you're working with advising you on your recovery. Over a period of two years, I have come here for their help in recovering from two different injuries. The first was a torn meniscus in my left knee and the second is intense lower back pain caused by aggravating two herniated discs. I have been to an assortment of physical therapists in the Kaiser Permanente Program and also in the Mills Peninsula Network for a variety of weekend warrior sports injuries: torn ligaments in both knees, two herniated discs/stenosis, tennis elbow and a tweaked shoulder. The PT's/staff at Kaiser and MP have been good, but the people who work at PPPT are stellar. I first worked with Todd to get me off crutches when I tore my meniscus last year. Todd and his program not only got me off crutches, but helped me to strengthen my leg, so I could postpone surgery indefinitely. Sidebar: I had surgery scheduled to repair my knee, but it conflicted with a trip to Asia that had been planned for nine years. My son was going to meet his birth mom and I was not going to miss it. Todd made it happen with his program and the support of his staff. I will always thank God for Todd for that. This year, our 130 lb Dougue De Bordeux broke a bone in her paw; at the vet she was too scared to exit the van. While attempting to bend, crawl and carry our injured pup out of the vehicle, I re-injured my spine. It was so bad, our very kind vet asked if she should call an ambulance. Thankfully, I made it home okay, but was laid up in bed for two days. Just getting out of bed, was a painful event. My doctor provided me with opioids and referrals for spine injections and physical therapy. Long story short: I've been working mostly with Alan on this injury and in three months, I'm off the opioids, and may actually be able to forego the epidurals. When I first came, I had pain shooting down my left leg. Getting out of bed was a painful 5-10 minute affair and climbing down the ONE stair in my house was a challenge. Today, the shooting pain is pretty much gone and I feel almost normal. Unless you've experienced nagging, debilitating back pain, it's hard to appreciate how Alan and Todd and their staff have helped me. It's answered prayer. I think what sets them apart is they are good communicators here. Todd and Alan ask about your progress, continuously. They ask if you have questions. They take the time to answer them so you understand what to do and why you should do it. They are also literally "hands on" professionals and watch you perform the exercises, correcting, advising and encouraging as needed. The assistants do this as well. The people here like their jobs and enjoy helping patients get better. I am a testimony to that. I have recommended PPPT to some family and they too have come away better. NOTE: I leave there sore and sweaty; they work you pretty good in an effort to bring healing and/or pain relief. I also have "homework," but if it helps relieve pain, I'm all for it. They have online videos I appreciate watching, to help me do the exercises right. It's not magic; you've got to help them help you, by doing your therapy at home as well as at their office. My brother had knee surgery and went to another PT; he didn't do his therapy as directed and he can't run or play softball any more. read more

I've been suffering with chronic pain on my neck, back, shoulder then went all the way down to my right hand for 9 years. It has been a difficult journey. I went to therapy multiple times already and it never went away. Luckily, I found Peak here in yelp and saw these awards and I wanted to see if the reviews were true. And my goodness they did not disappoint!!! Jason was my PT and he was beyond amazing. He taught me so much on how to listen to my own body. And how building your core is so important. This place is great. They take care of their patients very well. I have been their patients since last year till now. Their onsite patient care is very good. All Physical therapy assistants patiently show you how to do stretch and exercise. They always have smiles. The physical therapists explained very well about your condition and you can improve it. They went above and beyond to make sure you recovered. I had been worked with Alex, the physical therapist for several months. She is very dedicated and caring person. I had gone to Peak Performance for physical therapy due to a work place industry. On the administration side they were very easy to work with and I didn't have to worry about any paperwork or having to be the middle person tracking my approval status. Working out my visits was very easy. The facility was clean and organized. For PT I went for about 6 weeks working with Jerome and Alan. They were fantastic. They talked to me about my progress and made sure I was not feeling any pain during my sessions and what I was feeling during the days I was not visiting the office. They were friendly and helped me progress to helping my foot heal. They challenged me to be stronger and stretch my limits of what I thought I could do. Having never had experience with physical therapy before I had heard what a terrible time was in store for me. Torture and pain....... I was totally misinformed. I was recommended to Peak Performance by a friend who spoke very highly of the practice. I needed rehabilitation and strengthening after knee replacement surgery. I was impressed from the first appointment and throughout all my therapy. The front desk are professional and inviting. The gym area is very clean and upbeat. My first appointment was with Todd who listened carefully and explained throughly how things worked at Peak and where they expected to take me. I was more than happy with the care he gave me during the appointments I had with him. I changed my schedule to the afternoon and was cared for from then on by Alan Fong. I always felt heard and cared for by Alan. He could quickly modify any exercise to my ability while pushing me at the same time to be the best I could be. I was at the level of flexion and extension hoped for in a very short time because of his encouragement. He was always keen to make sure that you had the best form when doing exercises, clearly explaining what would damage and would enhance. He has eyes in the back of his head! I have been going to Peak Performance for sciatica that I had suffered with for months. I worked with both Todd and Alan and both were dedicated and excellent in their care and efforts to assess my injury and help me heal from my pain. The entire staff at Peak Performance are very personable and the whole team works to bring their patients back to health. Their PT aides are very committed to the patients and I always feel they are giving more than 100% effort toward the patients at all times. The patient is never kept waiting for the next step in their treatment as the aides keep things moving. I have to give a shout out to the PT aide Kyle in particular as he has been there most times I have gone and is super dedicated and impressive in his work ethics. I have been under their therapy treatment for two different issues. From the very beginning the staff is friendly, professional and helpful. They distribute the task among themselves so that always someone is supervising you. The staff at the check-in are very friendly and professional as well and make you feel welcome. Therapists had thoroughly consulted with me from the beginning and different stages of my treatment and modified the exercises as I made progress. They have explained to me why we are doing certain exercises. Understanding the background makes the task for purposeful and less boring. Often they gave me various tips to follow at home which helped me manage my pain better. Now both of my issues are under control and I am able to manage my pain better. My first experience with Dipali Patel DPT was when I twisted my knee and she and her team help me recover completely after 12 sessions so obviously when I sustained a back pain I went back to Dr Dipali who treated me for Sciatica and as before her whole team including the ladies at the reception desks were most professional. These ladies were always pleasant and accommodating in setting up my appointments with Dr Dipali only. The main reason why I enjoyed the whole experience was the way how Dr Dipali and her whole team work in unison during every one hour sessions. Her team is always alert so when I am not doing exactly what I was instructed to do, inevitably, either Dr Dipali or one of her team member would correct me immediately. Dr Dipali explains each exercise precisely as well as each session's progression to a total recovery. She has a very comforting demeanor while interacting with her patients...........a great asset indeed. Needless to say, my sciatica was successfully cured and my over all health is better and I am stronger as well due to the many strength training performed. In conclusion, I will entrust my physical therapy entirely to Dr Dipali and, of course, credit must also go to the owner of Peak Performance who runs a magnificent organization. The therapists are all very professional, and there's always one or more there. Todd, in particular, is excellent. He clearly enjoys being with people of all kinds, and is excellent at explaining the science behind what they're doing and trying to achieve. Sessions almost always start within 5 minutes or less of the appointed time. The assistants are well-trained, and never without supervision on the floor. They interact by electronic communication, so that when a patient is done with a task and looks idle, he/she is noticed by someone on the floor. They communicate that to the person in charge of their treatment, and the result is that very shortly he/she is taken to the next task. This eliminates time waste and maximizes the amount of treatment you get in the allotted time (usually an hour). read more

Amazingly, I made it to age 55 before I broke anything but when I did it was a doozie. I fell and shattered my left forearm. After having surgery, which included the installation of a plate in my arm, my doctor prescribed physical therapy. I was in so much pain the first time I visited Peak Performance that I couldn't see how therapy was going to help my swollen, tingling, inflexible hand and wrist. I had previously gone to physical therapy after a car accident and truly didn't see the benefit it provided. I wish I had gone to Peak Performance after the car accident - I'll bet I wouldn't still be having back pain! From the first time I called Peak Performance to make my appointment I was treated with respect and professionalism. You are seen on time and the therapist spends time with you to understand your issues, explain your therapy treatment clearly, and then does a wonderful job of resolving your problems. To top it off, the entire team (from the front desk to the owners of the practice) are good humored and fun to be around. The atmosphere makes the time you are doing your therapy regardless of whether or not it is exercising or getting an ultrasound go by very quickly. Last week, I had an opportunity to talk with a nurse (in Chicago) who broke her hand/arm 2 days prior to me and had the same surgery. She is going to physical therapy and has not improved to the same level that I have. When we compared notes on our experiences, it was very clear that Peak Performance was providing the right kind of care. The nurse told me she wished that she lived in Fremont so that she could get her treatment at Peak Performance. That's when I knew I had to write a review to let everyone know the high level of service provided by Peak Performance. Take control of your health care and don't just accept any physical therapy practice recommended by your doctor. I have been going to physical therapy here for the past five weeks. It's a very relaxed environment. Laughing and smiling is a part of my hour of exercise. I'm not pressured into doing anything more then I'm comfortable with. And on the flip side of that about halfway through my 12 sessions I was encouraged to do more due to the progression of my strength that my therapist noticed from across the room while she was treating another client. I walked in there in severe pain, on a 6 week leave from work and so much stress. I am also overweight and out of shape so none of this was easy for me. So for me to have enjoyed Todd and Neeva at Peak Performance is a big deal. I absolutely recommend this place to anyone needing rehab from an injury or ailment. read more

After undergoing reconstructive surgery on my elbow I was referred to Peak Performance Physical Therapy by my doctor. From the time I first stepped through the door I was greeted by a friendly staff who made me feel right at home. Much of the therapy is done in an open gym forum, however for my initial visit I was given a private room where Todd (owner and MPT) assessed my condition, checked my range of motion, etc and got me going right away with ultrasound, infrared, and stim/ice treatments to reduce swelling, increase blood flow, etc. In the weeks that followed I have always had a wonderful experience at Peak Performance. Even though I've worked primarily with Todd, I have gotten to know all the staff and they all greet me when I come in. The gym floor is basic but functional. Much care is given on proper form and injury prevention. So much so that I was reading other reviews (particularly the one from Harjot) and I'm going to call major BS on the comment of "it was more like visiting a gym.they tell you the exercise to do once and hardly monitor." That could not be further from the truth. In the beginning Todd, Neeva (co-owner and MPT), and many of the aides were monitoring every repetition I did and also constantly asking about pain level, ease of movement, etc. Only after I healed more and gained more strength was I allowed to perform movements on less supervision which I would expect to be able to do. I don't need a babysitter to do a few arm curls! I'm happy to say it's been 7 weeks since I started my therapy and I am now able to return to my Krav Maga self defense class and even did some light sparring last night! I was extremely happy about that. All in all Peak Performance has exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend them to anyone in the Tri City area that has recently had surgery and needs a path back to recovery. read more

What I really loved about the place was the positivity, synergy and encouragement one needs to help get rid of injuries as quickly as possible. I suffered two injuries - Patellar Tendinitis and Achilles Tendinitis, both on the same leg. It had been bothering me for several months and seemed to be getting worse and painful. All therapists Alan, Dupali, and Alex were great and while I had sessions with all of them, for most part of my therapy I worked with Alan. Alan is experienced, skillful and knowledgeable. At the beginning of every session he would first catch up on how I felt things were going w.r.t discomfort, pain, and improvement and he seem to adapt his approach accordingly. I somehow developed trust in Alan's ability and followed his instructions carefully. With every week passing, I experienced tangible improvement in pain and discomfort. I was myself pleasantly surprised that by end of 9-10 weeks, both injuries seem to have been cured in such short span of time. Alan himself advised that my injuries were now resolved and I did not need more therapy sessions. I would give 5+ stars to Alan for his skills as a PT, the guidance and motivation he provided to help cure my injuries in such short time. Highly recommended! read more

Since this will be my 100th review, I thought I would make it a special one. But due to me trying to relive being 13 again at my B-Day Party, I suffered a serious knee injury. I completely blew out my ACL, have a severe tear in my MCL, did severe damage to the meniscus, and have a fracture in my tibia. In a few words, I really F* my knee up. So for #100, Peak Performance Physical Therapy is probably going to be one of the most significant businesses I will see in the next 3-6 months. Basically, they are going to help me learn how to walk again, help me get back to normal, and doing things that I did before my accident. So far I've only had 2 physical therapy sessions here (I'm wondering if I should update it as I go along as a "journal") but so far the environment has been extremely positive. Granted I don't have other Physical Therapists to compare to, but I'm extremely happy my Doctor recommended Peak Performance Physical Therapy and the two lead people Neeva and Todd Walker to me. From what I've seen so far, it's like a little mini-gym with message tables. I'm still at a point where the swelling needs to go down before I can have surgery, so mostly they have been message my knee and giving it electrical stimulants to help with the swelling and to help me bend my knee so I can attain 0 degrees before my surgery (I was at 30 degrees and now down to 15). On my second session, I did peddle a bike, and have to say, something so simple become on of the more physically difficult things I've done in awhile. Both Todd and Neeva Walker have been greater. Extremely positive people that will push you to do what you need to do but do it in a positive reinforcement manner. Both of them are nice and I'm happy to be working with them. The music in the background also helps a lot too. Kind of help gets you pumped up doing your thing and walking again. So far I have nothing but positive things to say about them and Peak Performance Physical Therapy and hoping things will stay this as I rehabilitate my knee. read more

I went there to Rehab my Leg after Surgery and was really Unhappy with the Lack of Attention mainly from Todd has an attention span of a flea! If a Dude starts talking sports he ignores you and stands there carrying on a conversation with some other persons patient! This happened more then 3 times and I couldn't help but think why am I paying for this! read more

Peak Performance was truly an excellent, comprehensive, and top notch physical therapy facility. From the front desk ladies to the therapists, everyone was highly professional. My physical therapy course was fortunately overseen by Alan Fong, a knowledgable and amazing therapist. Even though I was only going to be there for a short period of time, Dr. Fong accommodated every need and created a crash course therapy plan for the time I would be there and after I left. Throughout my sessions, he would continue to find ways to implement my exercises with activities that I would perform in my daily work life. I have previously worked with many therapists in my life and I can easily say Dr. Fong was one of the most interactive therapists. Thanks to his involvement, my condition dramatically improved in that short period of time. I would highly recommend this facility, especially Dr. Fong, to anyone! read more

Thank God for this place! I have been going to Peak Performance for the past few months as I recover from ankle surgery and with my PT Dipali's guidance, I am getting stronger and stronger each week. Every single person at Peak Performance is a pleasure to work with. The sessions can be challenging, but I look forward to them every time and know that I am in the best of hands. If you need PT, you are probably in some kind of pain. Working with the kind, knowledgeable, and FUN team at Peak Performance will definitely lift your spirits as you work toward physical recovery. Two months ago, I fell off my step in step class and really tore up the tendons on the outside of my foot. I'd never had physical therapy, so after a month of wearing a huge boot 24x7, I was surprised when my doctor strapped me into a smaller brace and said it would need one more month in the brace and six weeks of physical therapy. I hobbled into Peak Performance where Todd evaluated my injury and assigned me to Alan. Alan is a miracle worker. Four weeks later (today) I was graduated back into normal life. They gave me exercises to do every day at home and I did them without fail. There were two main aides who helped me through the in-gym exercises twice a week and then turned me over to Alan for manual foot manipulation. He was so encouraging, and I actually ended up being dismissed earlier than I thought because my foot is fully functioning once again. I thought everyone working here was very knowledgeable and truly wanted me to get better. I also agree with most of the posts here that the front office staff was extremely helpful as well. I give 'em five stars and would willingly return if I ever need them again. read more

Peak Performance does an outstanding job in dealing with what is causing you pain or discomfort. It uses state of the art devices and procedures in their facility. Their staff is very friendly and personable and works with you to make sure you are making improvement and on the road to recovery.
