I have been to about 5 different chiropractors in my lifetime and Dr. Carter was hands down my favorite. I came in with a headache and stuck discs in my upper spine- he found those, along with every other musculoskeletal problem I've ever had. Even the ones I didn't tell him about! He adjusted just about every bone in my body and I feel a thousand times better - and a few inches taller now that my spine isn't so compressed! He took the time and care to loosen up the tight muscles in my back with massage and biofreeze before adjusting, which is something that's always important to me. Nobody likes getting adjusted with cold, tight muscles (it hurts!). After treatment, there was no pressure to sign up for a long-term treatment plan, and their sessions are 'fee per visit' style so don't worry about getting locked into monthly recurring payments. Dr. Carter is a wonderful chiropractic physician. I've been going to chiropractors the majority of my life and Dr. Carter is by far the best one so far. After a car accident a month ago, I came Peak Performance for neck, back, leg, shoulder, arm, and hip pain. I was also experiencing numbness in my extremities and headaches on a daily basis. Dr. Carter is truly phenomenal. His medical knowledge and ability to pinpoint issue areas are the best I've experienced (and I have visited a number of chiropractors over the years), he takes time and gives you such quality attention (I have never felt rushed--he treats you like you matter, because to him, I believe you really do!), and he has actually fixed chronic (at least what I assumed was chronic) pain for me! A friend referred me to Dr. Carter after I had been suffering with a debilitating neck injury for three weeks. Three weeks! I'm almost reluctant to tell all of you how good he is so there won't be a rush of people to tear down his doors, but I know it is good for his business and he deserves it. He is a fantastic chiropractor that listens and fixes what ails you. You always have his full attention and he will take whatever time it takes to help you.. What doesn't get fixed in one session will get fixed the next day or however long it takes. He is that thorough. He uses all methods: Manual, Drop Table and Activator, many times all in one session. I have never seen that before and love it. I have been going to chiropractors for 20 years and never need another one now that I have Dr. Finn at Peak Performance. It's a must. TheChiropractors I use to see in Michigan felt like a revolving door. My adjustments would be only like 5 minutes and rush me out. What can I say? I jammed my toes and it's only few days away from my departure to my destination wedding. Called Friday morning and got an urgent first time appt same day in the afternoon. Dr. Finn is probably the best chiropractor I have found in the States. He checked me from top to bottom and everything he said was right on. Not only he show me exercise I can do at home for maintenance, what surprised me is that he offer to come in on Sunday if I need another adjustment before I leave on Monday. Fabulous attention to detail. I discovered PPC from a fellow Yelp review and the things they mentioned not just about the quality of service but also their methodology as a provider. A lot of Chiropractic offices are considered special or not covered by general insurance companies. One is either getting subpar treatment as a result of that or simply being treated with lack of true concern. I don't feel that Peak Performance is about that life. I came to Peak Performance after receiving a recommendation from my brother in law (who suffers from serious back pain). After my first visit, I wrote my BIL and told him he was a LIFESAVER for giving me this recommendation. After my very first visit, I started feeling some much needed relief of my lower back and knee pain. After my second visit, I feel like a normal human again. Dr. Carter is super caring, professional and thorough. He takes his time and really cares about how you are feeling and putting together the right treatments to help you feel and stay well. I've been to other places where it feels like a conveyor belt with the Chiro having little time to actually check in with you and where all they care about is you coming back 3 times a week minimum for 6-8 weeks. Peak Performance is the complete opposite. I never feel rushed or pressured to come back more than I need to. I've been seeing Dr. Finn for years - he is truly amazing. He adjusts everything, down to your fingers and toes. I had recurring shoulder/neck pain and hip & lower back pain before I started coming to him. My lower back pain was so bad, even someone lightly touching my back would cause me to yelp. Not only did Dr Finn help me by adjusting me, but he also gave me exercises to do to strengthen the muscles so things would stay in place better. He always listens to me, and spends a lot of time with each patient. He also ends each visit with a reminder that if something doesn't feel right once you've left, to call him, and he will fix it. Every story has 2 sides and I'm the other side. Every review here is a 5. Mine is a 1. I have been using Chiros for 35 years so I know what they do, are supposed to do, and whats not working. I have been blessed over the years with really good people. As a bodybuilder of 40 years, its been important to keep my body in alignment, and pressure off my nerves. I have had an adjustment about every month for most of those 35 years. I am very aware of my body. My job got so hectic that my former Chiro in Roswell became inconvenient. So I started looking around closer to home. Finn is right next door to my barber so that's convenient. His practice appears oriented towards sports people which is a plus for me. I've had both shoulders reconstructed so someone who knows about sports is great. I saw Finn 4 times. He is a great guy with a great bedside mannor. He listens. He spent a lot of time with me. The results were less than satisfactory. I forgot to mention to him that side adjustments on my hips put me in pain. My bad. He did a side adjustment and had me in bed for a full day in so much pain that I could not walk or stand. I took every drug in the house I could find to dull the pain. So of course I brought this up and said don't do that again. Finn took xrays. I have degenerative discs in my neck and low back. My other discs are wearing. I have a bone spur in my neck from an early auto accident. These were clear and apparent. One of his adjustments pushed my right arm up into my neck and caused numbness down my right arm to my fingertips. Severe pain in my neck. He said my right low rib was out and used an instrument to adjust it. The next day I was again in bed in so much pain I had to lie there all day. I didn't go back. My body took about 6-7 months to adjust itself out, popping constantly every day until I reached a neutral point. If you are a housewife, or young, and with few or no injuries, then I'd say you will be fine. For an advanced athlete like myself with known injuries, then I'd look elsewhere. As they say, the proof is in the pudding and this Chiro did not work for me. read more

Dr. Ballard is awesome! I called Peak Performance on a Friday afternoon desperately looking for someone to help me out. I was having severe sciatica problems that made it difficult to sit, stand or walk on my own. I was scheduled with Dr. Ballard and luckily for me he had Saturday morning availability. Dr. Ballard was extremely personable and took his time explaining everything. He checked with me along the way to assess my pain and tolerance level and was extremely sympathetic. I just completed my 3rd session and am pain free. I have to admit, I was a little concerned when I couldn't find any Yelp reviews on him at this practice but turns out it's because he is new to the practice. After the first adjustment i came flying out of his office which i had entered dragging my body. I have lived in Chamblee a long time and sad I just now found Dr. Finn. I was referred there for my son (and I will be back for me) who has been suffering with headaches and now an injured leg. Dr. Finn stayed late and fit us in same day. His amazing wife was there too and it turns out she is an Ortho. Nurse.
