‼Consider Carefully Before Renting Here‼ My father lived in their "Fort Lane" complex before his passing, and our experience with management was deeply disappointing. After his passing, my sister and I spent several weeks cleaning out his apartment. During that time, management was consistently unavailable, despite posted office hours. Calls were never answered or returned, and multiple visits to the office revealed other tenants also struggling to reach them regarding various issues. The level of disorganization was astonishing. Additionally, we discovered that my father was being charged for a garage he never had. When we were finally able to reach a manager, they insisted that he had a designated garage. However, when we went to check, we found another tenant using the space for his vehicle as it was HIS garage, not my dad's. Management then claimed there was no way to determine which garage was assigned to him without a garage door opener. After weeks of searching for the opener, we attempted to contact them again but received no response. When we finally located management at a different office, they informed us that any belongings that may have been in the garage were considered "abandoned" and would have been tossed out. During this time, management also changed the locks on my father's unit without conducting a final walkthrough, leaving us unable to access the apartment due to their ongoing lack of communication. This is just a BRIEF account of mine and my sister's experience, and it was nothing short of horrendous. Even at the corporate level. I would NEVER put anyone I love and cherish in a place owned or operated by a PEAK LIVING employee or employer. read more

This property management company is a joke. I can't get a return call or email for ANYTHING on site at my complex or from corporate even during business hours. The only positive reviews they have on Facebook are from employees. Do not move into a peak living complex. read more

Peak Living is only looking out for themselves. Their email, Peak Cares for customer service is a joke! They don't care in the slightest. All they care about is their properties making them money by lying and coming up with false charges! My son had an apartment at Marion Ridge in NC and when he moved out, they came up with the most ridiculous charges. They saw the pictures and they know how horrible the management and maintenance is. I have been having issues with my refrigerator since about July of 2024 . No maintenance came out until November 2024. Maintenance came out looked at it and it still leaked water inside after he left. I put in another work order and they never showed up nor did office manager return any of my calls. I got housing inspector involved and only then did they tell him I would get a replacement around the first or second week in December. He had to call them again to see why I hadn't gotten a replacement yet. On December 31 2024 they bought me a replacement and left it outside my door from 10 am -5:15 Pm. A neighbor helped me bring it inside. I went out after that and when I returned I saw roaches coming out of the refrigerator big and baby roaches with eggs. The refrigerator was infested with roaches and the paperwork on the back had old roach droppings dried up . I have called them to come get it and they will not return my calls. The office not maintenance. Due to the weather some state offices are closed but I will be reporting this to everyone. read more

I made the mistake of moving into one of their South Carolina properties. Everything is subpar. The office management are unresponsive, inconsiderate, rude, and ineffective. Maintenance appears to have one competent guy and the rest just ride around in the golf cart all day. All of their 'repairs' are patched on bigger issues. They refuse to fix things properly. Nearly all units have serious black mold issues. No policies are enforced. It's like the Wild West here. If you're having issues with another resident the office just says to call the cops. Move ins are haphazard and they do some shifty dealings. You get different stories from different staff. Some of the straight up lie to you. They swindle people out of deposits and fees. I would say that peak living should be ashamed of this office but they appear to be on par with the rest of their properties. If you find out Peak Living is associated with a property you should run the other way. read more

Rudy Campos showed me an incomplete apartment with termites and doors hanging in the kitchen. He stated he does not have to communicate with me in regards to my housing application. Now corporate is protecting him and corporate denied my application because I told him if he keeps treating me in that manner I will seek legal advice. Now corporate is being rude and saying they can only talk to my attorneys. Remind you I'm applying for a Rural Development USDA gov approved community. Rudy did not provide me with a copy of my application or papers I signed. I'm a single mom and my income ranges 30k or below. My rent where i live right now is $1800 and the manager Rudy quoted me rent of $580 based on my income at his community. They should be withdrawn from the USDA program because they treat application in an hostile manner and the(y won't communicate about your application. Absolutely horrible management company! I made the mistake of moving to their Bridgepoint property in Waxahachie, Texas. I was originally leased for a smaller 2/2 but was called days before move in they told me the tenant wouldn't move out so they moved us a different apartment unit. Well that's the beginning of our problems. On move in day (10/20) it was a totally different layout after I had spent countless hours measuring the layout and buying furniture to fit. Our most recent issue ( currently 1/21 ) they posted on out door (10/20) that our fireplace needed replacing. Around Christmas i called to ask for an update and was told they scheduled repairs for 1/21 well today they came and literally stapled a piece of plywood in front of our damn fireplace!! We went to the office to ask about this considering this doesn't count as a repair. She says someone will be coming by later to paint the plywood to match the color of the walls. We expressed us being upset and told us "if you feel like you're getting butt effed then you probably are". Like who says that!? I hate this place and their management company. Id also like to add because of COVID they told us no gym or pool access which was kind of okay considering we thought we could fully enjoy our apartment. We pay the amount we do for zero amenities. That is obviously not the case. Expect things to break left and right. The only good thing about this place are the maintenance men. Quick to help and always sweet. read more

Denied my elderly mother's rental application due to misdemeanor traffic violations, (one of them being almost 20 years old) and of course, pocketed her $35 application fee. I feel like we should have been warned that she could be denied for such trivial things on her background check so she could have saved the $35. She is on disability and $35 is a big deal to her. Don't waste your money applying unless you have a flawless record. I will be informing everyone I know who is looking for an apartment to avoid this company and all of the properties they manage. read more

Do not rent at PEAK!! They are slum lords, especially at their Texas assets! Trust me, I worked for them. They would not allocate the necessary resources needed to maintain their assets. The hands of their employees are tied however, if occupancy drops then the employees pay. We had over 50 residents without hot water and AC , accounts closed due to no payment on accounts and no way to service the residents. It was awful! Then when you bring solutions to the executive team and bring to surface the true situation...you suddenly find yourself without a job! STAY AWAY! read more

Well. well. what an interesting situation to be in. I have paid my rent on time, sometimes early, ask for few maintenance requests, but I was just told my lease will not be renewed. When I asked the manager why, her reply was "your lease is not being renewed". Ummmm. Yes, I have had a few complaints, for very worthy reasons. With whom I have seen living here, and the issues, they are lucky to have me, who keeps a gorgeous home and lies low most of the time, bothering nobody in the community. What is sad is that I believe this to be discrimination by the manager, who does not like me. Is that a reason to not renew I lease? I ask all of you, too. I am a Realtor, who knows this industry, but am renting temporarily. Now the cost of moving again. This is a travesty. Not a way to run a community in Burnsville, MN at Summit Townhomes. Do not rent there. You never know if you will be thrown out or discriminated against for one reason or another. I lived at one of Peak Living's apartment complexes and it was a nightmare. So I reached out to Peak Living management department to let them know the issues I was having, and I was basically dismissed. I haven't had air conditioning since April. I let my apartment complex know, and I was constantly told that they were waiting on parts. Well, I finally got to a point to put my request in writing (because the law states that the complex has to fix the issue within 7 days from the date of the written notice to fix the issue or the lease can be terminated.) I went into the managers office on the 7th day to terminate my lease and was badgered by the manager. So I decided to call Peak Living to let them know about the several issues I was having and initially the women I spoke with asked if I had received any comps due to the fact I didn't have air conditioning and I had flood damage. I had not. So she said she would work with me on getting out the the lease and I received an email today saying that the complex I live in followed the rules, basically. Well then please explain why I put in the written request on 6/25/2018 and wasn't completed until 7/3/18. I though that is 8 days, right? Plus, I called them on May 29th because my apartment was so hot, I couldn't take it anymore. I spoke with the women in the office (whom was very empathetic) and told me she was calling her manager right away. She called me back and said she would lend me a window unit (that only covers 300 sf) until the air conditioner was fixed. That cooled down my apartment to 89-90 degrees (while running it all day and night. Oh, and they don't pay the electric bill, I do, so you can imagine my bills the past few months.) And remember, I was NEVER given ANY comps off my rent! So now I'm stuck here without any help from Peak Living! read more
