I immediately placed an order from my local hardware store and to have all the items (appliances) shipped to my home. The day before the scheduled appointment the repairman messaged me that he made a mistake and that he was supposed to schedule my appointment for the following day. He also mentioned that I did not send him a deposit to lock in my appointment as if I lost the appointment due to not paying him a deposit. I was confused! We never discussed a deposit or a deposit amount when I spoke with the handyman over the phone. I did not see the other Yelpers reference in their post anything about Zelle quick paying their repairman for a deposit. He brought his helper Frank and both were very professional, patient and thorough. I explained that I will be moving soon, am on a limited buget, and would be willing to do some of the work to keep costs down. They got it. After assessing the HVAC for holes in the duct work, they concluded that the cost would be about $2,000 (in line with other quotes that I received), but that I may not wish to invest that much money since I'm moving soon. Besides, they may find more problems as they make repairs. They suggested that I continue to use a room heater and window air conditioner as I did last year. Made sense to me. Thank you. I also asked them to repair some siding that came off. We split up the work and I paid about 20% of the amount quoted by another contractor who wanted to do all of the work for a larger area than was necessary. I decided to have the siding done. When I finished my work, Derek and Frank came out two days later as promised (inagine that from a contractor) and didn't leave until the work was completed (again, imagine that!).
