They pointed out a couple areas where they have "girl" baby clothes (I mean, clothing doesn't have a gender but we exist in the world where people like to do that). Most of their clothes are for children older than mine but they did have a few things. It's definitely expensive, though, so I don't know that I'd buy a lot here. I did buy some very cute barrettes for my baby (I've found it hard to find some that don't have pieces attached to them, and I don't want pieces that might pull off) and I'll probably purchase more at some point. I also will check out their holiday stuff and may look at the coats they have as well, as the weather cools down. I'll certainly keep an eye on their Instagram, too.

When I first stopped in the other employee here greeted me and asked what brought me in and if I needed help finding anything. It's not a large place but there is a LOT to look at. They have clothing, accessories, adult jewelry (possibly kids jewelry too, but I wasn't looking at it much), hair notions, and so on. One thing I really needed is a pacifier clip since my daughter has taken to pulling hers out and it ends up in a place in her carseat that is hard for me to reach! They happened to have these which made it a successful shopping trip right there. But whilst we were wandering, Vanessa complimented my sweetie pie and we got to talking. I was in the store for 35 minutes or so and probably half of that was chatting with her. I got a couple of the pacifier clips, and a freaking ADORABLE winter hat that I'm pretty sure is handmade and will probably fly off the shelf. I also bought a book featuring Chicago landmarks which I learned as I checked out Vanessa actually wrote. She autographed it for my baby which I love! Parking is street only and probably can get tough some days, but it's worth the visit. The store is full of really high quality items. I love that their stuff is 100% cotton and it hold up well…read more I recently came back to get summer t-shirts and found they had a ton of prints but not as many solid colors like the had in the past ( like solid lemon or mint). Same goes for leggings...I wish they had more color options. The prices are reasonable and even better if you are able to shop when there is a sale. If you are buying for a new baby keep in mind they run small. They will box and put bow on anything you need wrapped. The sales associates are always super nice and helpful with seeing if they have extra sizes in the back. Parking on Halstead can be a bit tricky on weekends.

Downstairs is "the vault", which features sizes up to 14/16 with sales up to 40% (maybe more depending on the time of the year). The vault is sectioned by sizes. At the bottom of the stairs is a clearance size with the discount percentage for the entire room. I visited in early October 2024 and there were many discounted spring/summer styles, with a few sweaters and sweatpants options. There's a couch in the middle of the floor to take a break or for your children so you can shop uninterrupted. The fitting room is upstairs toward the back of the store. Enjoy cute trinkets near the check-out register, plus the cutest wrapping paper that can be purchased. We went back to Frankie's On the Park to look for a service dress for my daughter's upcoming bat…read moremitzvah. This time I made an appt with the infamous Suzie who was kind enough to meet us on a Sunday morning before the store was even open. Suzie has quite the reputation (a good one!) among the bat mitzvah girls and I can see why. She had an eye for what would look good on my daughter and nailed it within 5 minutes. Done! We then made our way downstairs to do some shopping while we had the store to our own. She found a dress to wear to other mitzvahs that she liked so much we got it in a few colors and did some fall shopping as well (aka sweatpants and cute long sleeve tees). We spent more than I was planning to, but the smile on her face was priceless. My daughter wears a junior size and I do find the dress selection a bit limited for juniors (she had 2 racks to choose from), but they certainly have more than anywhere else I've seen and easier to try on person than ordering a bunch online. I think she's good on dresses for the rest of 2023, but when we are ready for more I"ll definitely be calling Suzie to make sure she'll be there to help!

It makes me wonder, at what point did we lose our way in designing clothes that are truly appropriate for our kids? We once had brands like Justice and The Limited that understood how to dress children without making them look like miniature adults. We must ask ourselves why this is happening now.
