I wish I could give zero stars. I'm actually convinced that I was being scammed by this woman. All…read moreof the other reviews are very old but most of them still ring true. Luckily, thanks to her extremely unprofessional behavior and horrible punctuality, I was never actually able to get my dress altered by her, and thank God I didn't. I needed a very last minute alteration (only 6 days notice) and she assured me she would have plenty of time and that she is amazing at what she does. I was excited (I hadn't read these reviews obviously) and trusted her. We set up a fitting, which she cancelled 30 minutes before because there was "construction" at her studio. We rescheduled it, which she cancelled one hour before due to "downpours" we were supposed to get (it never rained). We rescheduled for that evening (the night before I needed the dress done), and I waited outside of her studio for almost an hour before realizing she was ghosting me. Heard back from her the next morning (the day that I needed my dress done!!!) and she said she had been in a car accident the previous night, which I highly doubt actually happened. She told me she could still probably do the dress (I had 3 hours before I was leaving town...) and so I gave her one more chance and waited outside her studio at our scheduled time. She never showed up and I still haven't heard a word from her. Although I am extremely pissed that I now have zero time to get my dress altered, I am ultimately thankful that she never laid a hand on it. This is a joke of a business and I'm honestly convinced it is a complete scam. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME.

After being referred to her by a friend, who's friendship I now question. I highly recommend to do…read moremore research before hiring Susan's sewing! We (my daughter and myself) did read the online reviews prior to hiring her and certainly didn't take them serious enough because we can certainly vouch for the bad service, her horrible attitude, her attroious punctuality and the garments reaping of cigarette smell! My daughter and I hired her to alter my daughter's wedding gown for an October wedding. My first contact with her was in May we had several phone conversations and many text messaging conversations. We were assured that she would only need a couple of weeks to make her alterations prior to the October 14th wedding. We met with her in late August. The dress was snug on my daughter and she blamed our bridal shop where we purchased the dress for selling us too small of a dress. Repeatly we heard her famous line of " Hear me out" I can fix the dress. She wanted to redesign the back of the gown from its original design. The only thing we wanted done was a low liner put in the back of the dress, a bustle and the front hemmed. Her giving us time to think about the different options ( Spanx, my daughter losing weight - very good confidence builder to attack an already stressed bride or her redesigning the back) between a total of four face to face appointments with her and my daughter deciding she wanted the dress left in the original design. We met with her October 2nd, still not completely satisfied with the way the dress was fitting we purchased an additional undergarment and met again at my daughter's home the next evening. Everything was set she assured us she would be able to finish the alterations and have the dress back to us on Oct 9th.... After hearing about her multiple life crises and excuses and sorrows of her life. We finally were able to retrieve the gown, which I referred to being held hostage on Thursday at 1:15 less than 32 hours before my daughter's walk down the aisle. It was a very TENSE meeting with her to say the least after being screamed at, cried too and hung up on during a phone conversation questioning what time we were going to retrieve the dress. Upon my questioning her on the amount of money we owed her response as she left my daughter's home was " NOTHING GIVE IT TO THE BRIDE " and she walked out the front door not accepting any payment! Now I have in the past maybe received a free meal due to a long wait time. Another example of an upgrade with a rental item due to the business making an error and not having the specific item I reserved but they held themselves accountable and took responsibility for their error. Her not accepting any payment I hope points out to those who read this review her acknowledgement of her business practices. I beg any brides and their mothers going through what should be a beautiful experience do their research with dress shopping and certainly even more important with the seamstress doing alterations. We again read the reviews and she even gave excuses for the bad reviews but with our inexperience and penny pinching with all the cost of a wedding we still went with her and that was the worst process of the wedding. I want to finally add that since my daughter's wedding day has came and gone I now also realize it was my daughter and her beauty that made the day a beautiful day.
