I began working with one of the Villa Sport personal trainers in September. I was matched up to…read morework with trainer Matt for my free training session. I was a little intimidated to be working with him initially. I've only had female personal trainers in the past, and I came into that session during a phase of life where I felt disconnected from my body. I felt very vulnerable and exposed to be reaching out for help to a really strong gym guy. During that session, Matt made me feel so comfortable. He was kind and encouraging. We talked about all of my postpartum challenges and he took notes on what mattered most to me and what I wanted from our time together. I really appreciated how he didn't assume what I wanted or needed just from looking at me. I left that session feeling empowered, hopeful, and safe in this space. (Not to mention he fixed my squat in that first session!) Over the last few months, with Matt's programming, I have gained a few pounds of muscle and lost 6% of my body fat. He writes my programs based on my schedule and what I enjoy doing. He's adapted my workouts to support my pelvic floor health which was a very big postpartum concern for me. Any fear I had of bringing up my pelvic floor to a male trainer were squashed by Matt's caring/person-first approach to training. If you are feeling vulnerable, exposed or intimidated, but ready to get some professional support in the gym, I cannot recommend Matt more highly. He's the trainer for you! In addition to my work with Matt, I began taking Reformer Pilates classes once a week with Kate. It is the most fun I've ever had while working that hard! The Reformer machine is such a unique piece of equipment and keeps my brain really interested and engaged in what we are doing. The glide of the carriage and buoyancy of the springs feel so unique to other types of equipment. It's SO fun- horizontal jumping anyone?! But also, so challenging! Luckily for me, Kate is an incredible instructor! Her cues and prompts are spot on and always help me correct my form and activate the right muscle group. She moves throughout the room and provides individualized encouragement and coaching to each of us. Kate also facilitates an awesome vibe in the class! She is fun and friendly and has created a space that feels welcoming and easy to enter into, even as a total beginner. I'm extremely thankful for the team at Villa Sport who have made me feel like I belong while also achieving my goals. 10/10 recommend.

VillaSport provided exactly that. I frequent the spa and Rachael always welcomes me with a smile, remembers my name, and is great to work with. I have had the pleasure of working with Judie several times. She delivers excellent services while answering my questions, educating me on skincare, and creating a relaxing environment during my facials. Both massages I've had at the spa have been fantastic. Most recently, I met with Richard after a workout, and he not only provided a great massage but also helped me understand how massage supports my fitness goals. I look forward to seeing him again. Because I feel comfortable at VillaSport, I decided to move forward with personal training. After speaking with a few great team members, I was connected with Matt. He has been everything I needed and more--patient, knowledgeable, a great communicator, and, most importantly, someone who makes me feel at ease in a new environment. The facilities are managed extremely well and appropriately for the membership fees. Very clean: hot-tubs, pools, steam room, saunas, showers, locker rooms and bathrooms, I am confident they have a stellar facilities team! We recently had a snow storm, the sidewalks and parking lot was properly maintained- way to be! Thank you, Villa Team! Your exceptional customer service makes working out much easier to show up and put in the work.

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to a world where sweat glistens a bit more elegantly. The MAC isn't just a gym it's a sanctuary of stature. You don't simply walk in... oh no, you belong here. Membership isn't a convenience, it's a declaration. Behind those doors lies a realm of polished marble, hushed conversations, and the faint, dignified clink of perfectly chilled water glasses. Inside, it's sleek immaculately so. Machines aligned like soldiers of fortune, locker rooms that whisper spa-day indulgence, and a calm that feels imported from somewhere far more exclusive than downtown Portland. This is where ambition meets tranquility... where CEOs, legacy names, and those in-the-know escape the city's chaos without ever leaving it. And the vibe? Think Nob Hill with a gym membership and a trust fund. There's no chaos, no clanging weights echoing into oblivion just refined motion, deliberate pace, and an understanding that wellness, like wealth, should be curated. So if you find yourself wandering downtown, peering in like Gatsby outside the green light, just know: this isn't merely a place to work out. It's a lifestyle one you don't stumble into... you ascend into. Lifestyles of the fit and the fabulous, darling.

The a la Grivois cocktail started the experience on a high note: amaro and vermouth together make for a velvety sweetness. The house green soup was a winner, I'm sure the French Onion would be also. We were there for prime rib night and their version rivals that at Clyde's: a hearty cut and full of flavor. At first glance, I was disappointment to see scalloped-type potatoes, but these were the best I've had. The warm bread and salad were above par. Great service by one of the long time waiters.

The instructors were helpful, encouraging, fun and friendly. And there were 2 of them for our little group - so they were always close by with a tip or to answer a question. We learned all the basics and by the end of the class, we were curling! Fun fact: This is the only dedicated curling facility in Oregon. It's tucked away in a business park and when you walk in, it feels like a club you immediately want to be a part of. They even built a little bar so you can warm up with a beer, wine or cocktail. It's all about the ice so they keep the place chilly - between 38-41 degrees - so dress appropriately. After our lesson, I could see myself getting into this sport. We might even start going to the Friday night pop-ins to "throw some stones."

After his first session, he stated how he'd learned more in those 60 minutes than he had in the last year and couldn't wait to go back. Quickly my son was able to significantly improve his pop time, velocity on his throws, approach at the plate and bat speed. During the season, he was in a slump at the plate and went to see JR for a session and he was quickly able to identify the issue and immediately improved his performance. My son was selected to play for the 16U team this summer and the positive experience has continued with Coach Cameron and the rest of the coaching staff. They've done an excellent job of building relationships, challenging the players and putting them in situations (playing in 18U tournaments) to better prepare them for opportunities at the next level. Due to the experience my oldest son has had with one on one coaching and playing for the summer team, my youngest has participated in group camps and will be playing for the 10U team this fall. Highly recommend any of their programs if you're looking for great coaching and support to help improve your child's skills and development.

From private lessons, camps, tournament teams, to their coaching philosophy, it is well organized and efficient with excellent and experienced coaches and knowledgeable instructors who have all played at the college ball level or higher. PBC fosters a positive, supportive, and collaborative culture for the kids throughout all aspects of the program, and it is evident through all the levels from 12U-18U. It is one club, and although there are different levels, I have consistently seen all the coaches and trainers interact positively with all age groups, and I have been extremely impressed with how well they all know each of the kids as a player and an individual. It is obvious how much the kids love all the coaches and trainers, and that the coaches and trainers truly care about the kids. PBC trains great players to be elite players, but that takes serious dedication and commitment from both player and club. PBC has the program and will invest their time, trainers, coaches, facility, and knowledge into each player who is willing to put in the time and effort to train consistently and seriously to reach their goals and become a better player every day.

They don't give a poop squat about the people who pay them to train they kids. I paid for a couple seasons for my nephew and we been waiting six weeks to hear if we even playing in July much less taking all those trips promised at the beginning of each season. Bro, straight up, the guy who directs this place sat there and blabbed about how this a family and they all grow together and how the boys would be going on trips and doing team bonding, first thing I taught my nephew....DONT LIE when he was like two. Two seasons I hear all these great things come out dudes mouth and how great it is there but WTF because none of it happened. We had to hunt down parent info to ask if anyone had any info. Nope. I talked to five families who sent a total of 19 emails and not one was answered. We pay these guys a lot of money and they can't even answer these people they say is their family? You got one screwed up family then. Two families bought tickets to places they don't even know if they going to. The place can't answer an email to save their life. The director talked about all these perks for signing up our players and NONE happened. They do not care about you, they do not care about them players, they only care about themselves and I had to hunt down bros number on the white pages to ask there the JULY, like in the summer ya'll when families want to travel, schedule is and if we going or not going and I got "who this?" As a reply. No apology or answers. Last season we showed up to two games and had to forfeit because these coaches send out emails to tell everyone RSVP and then don't check the app to make sure they have enough players so thanks for the drive two hours away. Bro, don't come to this club, it's BUNK BRO!!!!
