I was told I could pay for the insurance and label and leave the item in the back to be packed later. Given the value and my responsibility for the item, I politely expressed that I was more comfortable having it packaged properly and sealed before leaving the store. To my surprise, this reasonable request seemed to be an issue. At no point was I being difficult--I was simply trying to ensure a high-value item was handled with care and accountability. For a business that handles shipping, I expected more understanding and professionalism, especially when it comes to valuable items. I had a UPS package delivered to this store several months ago. Delivery was delayed by almost ten…read moredays, so I was unable to retrieve it. I sent an email asking that it be returned to sender, as I was going to be gone for several months, and received no reply. (My sender has since confirmed multiple times that no package was ever returned). This afternoon, the young woman at the counter mentioned that they throw packages in the trash that no one has claimed (which is apparently a serious breach of UPS policy if true), but that her boss says my package was returned to sender. There is no record of the required "return to sender" scan on file under my UPS tracking number. So I can only imagine what happened to my package. I recommend avoiding this location.
