He was patient, listened to my concerns about a what I thought was a broken hard drive and found a solution that I didn't ever expect. Whew, possibly the worst experience I've ever had. Not just with computers but any retailer period. First of all I purchased an over priced computer with limited features which is definitely my fault for getting wooed by the lifetime sales pitch. Just two plus years later the power cord needs replaced and I'm told that I will receive a quote for the price sometime next week. A quote for a power cord? I'm then told that the replacement cord will probably cost around $90. Yup. $90 for a power cord! I'm embarrassed that I fell for their well trained sales pitch. I'm hoping this review may help others in the future. If I could rate 0 stars, I would. Addendum: I just received a phone call from PC. They offered to mail a power cord at no cost. Sold me a recertified computer for $1200 in February 2023. Hard drive died in October. No data could be saved. Offered to trade in for $1050 and then will need to pay an additional $2000 for a new computer. Oh and windows 10 will be obsolete in 2024 so this computer will be garbage even if the hard drive didn't die. So frustrated and feeling like I just wasted $1200. Best Day after the worst Christmas EVER! A huge shoutout to Steve Hales and the team at PC Laptops. Christmas morning my tub flooded into my office destroying my laptop, which I use for business and personal. I was devastated and near tears--- Steve greeted me with a smile and said, "Let's see what I can do." So, it was a Sunday night at 9pm and I was at a friends place studying for an exam. I was having some computer/ internet issues, so I gave Dan the PC Laptop Man a call. (anybody that is from Utah knows that Sunday is a hard day to get business done out here) He got a hold of one of his employees to get a hold of me. Because my laptop was unable to connect to the internet, Joe (employee) had to fix my laptop through the phone instead of remote access. Merchants in the service industry should closely examine PC Laptops customer-service model; because I've never experienced better! Not at a 5-star hotel, restaurant, or spa, etcetera.. The training the PC Laptops employees get must be fantastic, because they treat patrons very well! Recently, my relatively-new Toshiba Laptop had an accident, and needed to have the screen replaced. The replacement wasn't covered under a warranty. And Toshiba quoted me a price of: $400+ to replace the screen! I took my laptop to PC Laptops, & was bowled over by the customer service I received! The moment I walked in the door, I was met by several PC Laptop employees, all eager to help me. I was offered a cold beverage. They went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. I could hardly believe I was in a computer store! It was wonderful. The SAME DAY that I dropped my laptop off, I received a phone call from PC Laptops with an estimate for the repair. And it was a fraction of the cost that Toshiba had quoted! In addition to the repair, PC Laptops also went over my laptop with a fine-tooth comb & made sure it was functioning optimally. PC Laptops had to order-in the part for my laptop. Even though it had to be shipped, it still took less than a week for everything to be completed! Shane was my contact at PC Laptops, and he was the epitome of genuine customer service! He made sure that I always knew the status of my repair. And he even checked with me, after I had my laptop back, to make sure that everything was satisfactory. I think it is commendable that the PC Laptop employees appear to be enabled to use their resources to do whatever necessary to make things right with their clients. And if you don't care as much about customer service as I do... Then the fact that PC Laptops is competitively-priced should be enough reason, to give them business. They certainly have mine. This time, my friend's son dropped the laptop and the frame around the screen started to warp. My friend went to Best Buy for help and they told her it will cost her $260 to fix it. Eventually, she came to me and I took her to PC Laptops. They were very friendly, gave her an estimate that is way cheaper than what Best Buy going to charge her, and they will call her soon after it is done. I thoroughly explained my story. Even consulting amongst themselves, no one thought to tell me that I needed a bios chip soldered onto the new board. The knowledge is non existent. I wish I bought the tool myself. $45 just to have that done. And sure I get that businesses have things to do but do I really have to wait like a day or two just so you could do a 1 minute screw job? Exceptional Customer service! I came into PC laptops earlier this week, after losing a few documents that were essential to my work. After slightly panicking, calling a few others computer repair shops in town and getting outrageous estimates with extremely long wait times, I came into the Murray PC laptops. Michael greeted me, explained to me what might be causing my problem, eased my worries, and promptly took my laptop in for service.
