I haven't had the pizza here in a while, but I did recently have the meat calzone with tomato sauce, and it was very filling and delicious. I was surprised at how large it was. they certainly did not skimp on the fillings, and the tomato sauce that comes with it tasted home made (or at least not out of a can). if my work was closer to this restaurant, I'd definitely come more often. I've been here a number of times and keep going back because the food is just so good. Every pasta dish I've had is delicious. I heard a lot about the pizza, so finally thought I would give the Margarita pizza a try. I don't know how they did it, but the pizza tasted wood burnt and he made it in a regular oven, it was so good!! Good enough to rival a NY pie. Craving it as I type!! The owner and cook is Italian, and his presence fills up the place. You can hear him cooking, super fun!! The recipes are from his family and have been handed down for hundreds of years and you can taste the authenticity. Eat here, you will not be disappointed. This was my last meal before my .....diet. *cries* Went with my son. Started with the garlic knots per yelpers recommendation. He was not impressed. I'm not a bread person, but I wasn't either. He got the white pizza and the pepperoni pizza.....uhm YUM. Best pizza I've had in the area. I like this style of pizza, thinner crust...greasy...yum. I love waterloo's pizza if that helps you any. I got the fettucine with seafood and a cream sauce. This was really good also. Cost 15$, came with a nice little salad with vinegarette. I think the pasta was fresh. My only complaint is that there could be more seafood for 15$. There was about 2 shrimp, 2 scallops, and some crab meat scattered about. The pasta was, hwoever, cooked perfectly and the sauce was very flavorful. I really like this place. And when i'm done with the D word, i'm guna slurge on the pizza! read more

Absolutely delicious Italian. Best Italian in the elkridge Columbia hanover area. Their gravy (red sauce) is top notch and so flavorful. We ordered veggie lasagna holy cow delicious! Spaghetti with meatball. The meatballs are so perfectly cooked and moist. Must get garlic knots! Each entree came with a nice side salad and piece of bread. Amazing value for the flavor bursts! Ordered the custom salad and asked for spinach with corn and grilled shrimp. Wanted the almonds, too, but they were out. Um, the grocery store is less than 600 yards away, guys; go out and get some more supplies. Anyway, for the amount I paid, the salad was disappointing. The volume of spinach was quite sparse, and most of the spinach had stems that were five inches long, so it was really amateur hour that no one took the time to prepare the greens. Yank it out of the bag and throw that goat food on a plate! The shrimp was excellent, though, and was the highlight of lunch; tender and well-seasoned. I did pay $0.99 for a measly quarter cup of corn. Pretty skimpy. Looks like the owner drives a Mercedes, so that might be an indication of the profit margin. For the people out there who might say "Why did you order a salad at an Italian 'restaurant'", please be aware that the place specifically offers custom salads with various greens, proteins and salad toppings and has devoted a huge amount of store advertising space to make customers aware that this is a very viable option. On the plus side, when I went back and tried the pizza, I found it to be excellent. I was going to give this place a two star but upped it to a three star. My husband and I recently moved to this area and we are looking for some Italian restaurant options to replace our favorites from our old neighborhood. This restaurant is about 5 minutes away from our house, so we thought that it might be a good option. I ordered a cheesesteak and buffalo wings. The buffalo wings were not at all crispy and the sauce was not quite right. I would be willing to give them another chance with maybe a pizza or calzone, but I would definitely not order the cheesesteak or wings again. Okay. Just okay. Not bad, but nothing that really grabs you! The Buffalo Wings were on the stale, old tasting side and didn't have much flavor, but the Celery was fresh and crisp. I'm a sucker for Calzone, so I had to have one off their huge menu. I opted for the meat, but damn! Forgot the Anchovies! The generously sized Pepperoni, Sausage, and Meatball was hot, but under seasoned and had too much Ricotta for my liking. Oh, and the meats too, were a little stale and old-tasting. All I can say is thank goodness I don't live closer because I'd be getting Pizza here EVERYDAY!!!!! Ordered a large pepperoni pizza $15.90 ready in 15 minuets. It was absolutely delicious! Really good sauce , lots of flavor , lots of quality cheese and lots of pepperoni. It was crunchy on the bottom so you could pick up a slice without the toppings sliding off . I'm from NJ and I prefer the crust a tad bit thinner but it was still REALLY good ! If you enjoy good pizza , not the chain store BS , do yourself a favor and stop by here ! Their wings are amazing! If you're not a big fan of garlic then don't get it. Their hot wings are littered with pieces of garlic. Slightly crunchy on the outside, meaty and delicious on the inside. The best hot wings I've ever had, no joke. If they were pre-frozen and shipped from China, I don't care, they are delicious! (It's best to have em when dining in.) Their Sicilian Pizza is always fantastic. Crispy bottom, size is big but it's light and fluffy; complements well with the sauce and toppings. Their other pizzas are good too. I'm not a big fan of their addition to the menu; create your own pasta. There are many people out there that are too indecisive to even think about what they'd want on their pasta, including me. Sometimes I just wanna choose a dish and that's it. But luckily, they decided to keep some of their pasta dishes like the Fettuccine Mediterraneo which consists of scallops, shrimp and crab meat in a rose cream sauce, and the Farfalle Al Salmon. Though they sometimes overcook the salmon. Bruschetta and Calamari are also great appetizers, and what's even better is that it's located nearby where I live! read more

Pazani Trattori in Elkridge is my favorite pizza in Howard County. You need to know that I'm a thin-crust, thin-cheese kind of guy. Pazani Trattori serves a crisp, greaseless crust with exceptional, unusual toppings. Too many pizzas taste like canned sauce and bland toppings -- where you couldn't tell if that was mushroom or chicken with your eyes closed. The flavors at Pazani Trattori are fresh, and they taste like someone picked out deliciously-salty olives and sauteed the peppers there in the store. The restaurant -- which is almost impossible to stumble across but very convenient from Rtes 103 and 100 -- also serves pastas, desserts, etc. read more

So far, so good! Pazani is in a shopping center in Elkridge, next to the Giant grocery store off of 103 on Marshalee Drive. It's not sit down restaurant---it's one of those deals where you order the counter and either get it to go or take a seat at a table or booth and they bring it out to you. There seem to be a bunch of these places in Howard County (3 Brothers, Strapazza, Pasta Blitz, etc.). I thought it was kind of small inside. I expected there to be more seating and it was pretty packed and loud on a Friday night. Once I tried the food, I didn't mind. The pizza was incredible! I love the Italian Flag pizza---a white pizza with garlic, cheese, spinach, and tomatoes. Yum! The cheese calzone was also a hit---soft dough and oozing cheese center. I didn't try any of the pastas, but they looked and sounded good. They just got a liquor license so they now serve beer and wine. The prices are very reasonable and I thought that the staff I encountered were pretty nice. Obviously, it's a take out place so it's not fancy, but it was clean and had a nice feel to it. Good place for families and seemed very kid-friendly (they do have a kid's menu). I still like Roma's pizza when I want a really greasy slice, but Pazani's is a little more upscale and it's definitely my new favorite place to get a slice (or two) in Howard County. read more

I've been here a couple of dozen times as its located closeby. Our family is split on Pazani - my wife and kids love the pizza and pasta dishes. The pizza is pretty thin, but made with quality ingrediants and tastes pretty good right out of the oven. It is not great reheated the next day.I think their pizza is certainly better than average, but not in my upper tier - again pizza is tough to rate because of personal preference. I think their calzones are pretty underrated and in my opinion the best item on the menu. I've tried nearly all of their sauces that you can order with the pasta of your choice and have not been thrilled with any of them. The restaurant was recently sold and I believe the owners of the new Indian restaurant a few storefronts away bought it along with the entire menu and recipes. I recognize a few of the cooks from the previous owner in the back. On our most recent trip, I did not notice any change in the quality of the food. read more

Great for an inexpensive non-chain lunch or dinner. They have lots of choices, but what really calls to me is their excellent selection of different types of pizza by-the-slice. I'm always happy with just a reasonable slice of good cheese pizza for $2, but here I was pleased to also have some gourmet alternatives by the slice, including a really super spinach-and-fresh-tomato. This place has really good reviews, and the food is good, but overall it is just okay compared to similar places in the area. I'd really only give it 3.5 stars, but when in doubt round up. Plus the owner was very nice and from Italy, so I don't want to be a jerk. The pasta and entrees seem a little on the higher price range for counter-service joints. The less expensive pastas are choose your pasta and sauce, but why get a plain pasta dish when you can make something comparable at home? The prices for the pizza are on par for an independent pizzeria and they have some unique offerings. Got the capricciosa pizza and it was pretty good (kalmata olives, artichoke hearts, red peppers, and mushrooms). Worth the price. Pazani is such a gem of a find! The service is what makes this place shine. I didn't know what to order, and asked for a recommendation. Not sure what I got (pasta, red sauce, peas, meat?!) but it was yummy. The garlic knots were amazing! Definitely try those, but be warned - they come in an order of six, and they're pretty big, so make sure you share or are prepared to take some home. The biggest surprise is that this is an Italian restaurant run by an Italian owner! Who knew they actually existed anymore! The decor isn't fancy, but it doesn't need to be. Its one of those places that you walk into, order, get a number, and then sit down while awaiting your food. The place ended up pretty busy around 7pm as every table was full. The owner came by to ask how the food was, and was courteous enough to get us to-go boxes, but other than that, we were free to stay as long as we wanted. And we did! My friend and I stayed there from 5pm and didn't end up leaving until 9:30pm, and only because we noticed they were cleaning up. No one ever asked us to leave, which I think speaks volumes about their customer service. I highly recommend this place and plan on visiting it more often while I'm here in MD. We found this restaurant based solely on its proximity to the Holiday Inn Express, and have two young children who love pizza. For our second stay in that hotel, as soon as our ten-year-old found out we were staying in the same hotel, she became very excited - about the chance to revisit this restaurant. Pizza is thin crust, and enormous. I enjoyed the ravioli with marinara. My husband ordered the "Big Man in the Cave" meatball sandwich - which we could have shared! Anyone who knows me knows that I'm a huge fan of Pazani. In fact, I think it is likely the best restaurant in Elkridge. I found Pazani a few years back. I live about a 5-minute drive away and the wife and I were looking for some Italian that was quick. I remember seeing an advertisement for this location in one of the flyers that they send out in the mail. Armed with a coupon, we headed over. Little did we know how good the food would be. From the outside it looks like your regular strip mall restaurant and in fact, once you get in there, you will not be wowed by the ambiance. This is not a romantic restaurant, not does it have and old world Italian feel to it. You walk up past a display of pizzas and order from the count. You are given a number and make your way to one of the booths or tables they have. If you ordered some pasta, almost immediately someone will stop by your table with a salad and some amazing, hot, oven fresh bread. Now I can't talk about the quality of the pizza, but I hear it is good. What I can talk about is the quality of the pasta. I always get the Tortellini Boscaiola. Hands down this is one of the best Italian dishes I have ever had. There is a nice smokiness to the rich cream sauce which is loaded with mushrooms, bacon and peas. I love to just sop it up with the fresh bread that comes to the table. I have had other pastas too. Usually I'll take a bite of whatever my wife has. Lately she's enjoyed the "make your own pasta" and the rigatoni that she typically gets is great! One of these days I'd love to get around to trying some other stuff, like the pizza, but in reality, the Tortellini Boscaiola is sooooooo good, I haven't brought myself to pass it up. We love to take our daughter there as they have plenty of high chairs and she really enjoys the food. Plus where it's not a romantic place, you really won't be bothering the other customers if your kid is loud. This place is absolutely a hidden gem that I highly recommend visiting. A little mom n pop Italian restaurant hidden out in the burbs. The owner who is often at the cash register is as Italian as it gets.. He has the look, the accent, often loudly breaks out in Italian song when he's in the kitchen, keeps the widescreen on Italian news for the majority of the day, and is as friendly as friendly can be. The menu has a wide variety of pastas, pizzas, salads, and they even serve beer and wine. Nothing terribly fancy about the food or the restaurant. But it has a nice homey feel like you're eating in your grandmother's kitchen and it works. If you want good Italian food that isn't insanely overpriced, in a casual atmosphere, this is the place to go. read more

It was packed when I walked into Pazani on Friday dinner time. I ordered a slice of pepperoni pizza and a meat calzone. I just wanted a quick in and out meal on my way home from 9 holes of golf after work. It took me 20 minutes to get the pepperoni slice and 30 minutes for the calzone. Their pepperoni pizza was good but their crust is too thin for my liking. It gets soggy after a minute or two after it is served. I did enjoy my first minute with the slice though. The calzone was worth the wait. A bit hard on the crust end but the ricotta and sausage they use is very tasty. I will probably return due to Pazani's calzones. I was able to see Pazani's kitchen at work during my 30 minute wait and saw lot of pasta orders. They looked pretty good and might give one a try next time. read more
