I walked in expecting "good for a strip-mall spot" and walked out low‑key mad that I've wasted this many years on chain pizza. The crust is where it all starts: that thin New York style with just enough flop to prove it's legit, but a crisp bite at the edge that actually fights back a little. The sauce tastes bright and fresh, not sugary, and the cheese hits that perfect zone where it stretches, melts, and doesn't drown the slice in grease. Throw on pepperoni or sausage and it's game over. The vibe is classic neighborhood joint--nothing fancy, just people who clearly care about what's coming out of the oven. The crew is friendly, quick, and they've somehow never once messed up my order, even when I'm being extra about toppings. If you're anywhere near Severn and still defaulting to Pizza Hut or Domino's, I genuinely feel bad for you. Came here on a Saturday during a lunch break from class. The employees are very friendly with some jokes up their sleeves (gave me a teeny cup instead of a bigger water cup, and gave me a teeny calzone before putting the big one on the plate). All in good fun! It was easy to make the order and they have restrooms in the back. I got the meat calzone. and while it was delicious, the center of the calzone was barely warm. It was definitely stuffed full, which I'm certain makes it difficult to cook evenly. This is the reason for removal of one star. I would 100% come back here for another calzone and to try out their pizzas. They had 6 or so tables to sit at which was nice and a soda machine with a water tap on it as well. They are in a strip mall and while it does get busy, there should always be parking available. read more

Ate here after many years. It was still the same great pizza. This is the closest thing I have ever had to a New York Slice. I had two slices - one pepperoni and one cheese. Went for lunch its a really cool authentic Italian spot. I ordered a cheese pizza slice and a cheesesteak. The pizza slice was very fresh and definitely a good alternative if you just fix a pizza craving. The cheesesteak was pretty bad the meat was like lunch meat. I will try other things in the future. Just moved to the area from Hawaii. Wanted to find a good pizza place that isn't one of the big chain restaurants. Decided to try Gianni's. It's really close to our house. I called, placed my order and was told approx 20-25 min pick up time. No problem. Easy to navigate, good parking. It's in a strip mall of sorts. Restaurant seemed very clean and my pizzas were ready just as promised. Gentleman behind the counter was friendly and professional. We ordered the White Pizza, The Godfather Pizza, and a pepperoni Chicago style pizza. All were excellent! My favorite was the white pizza and that shocked me because I love toppings. We like our pizza cooked well done with a slightly crispy crust and they did it just right. The pizza was perfect. I have been looking for some authentic tasting pizza in the area, and I think I found it. The sauce was delicious with just the right amount on the pizza and the crust was good. I would definitely order from here again. Next up is a calzone, manicotti or maybe some stuffed shells. I really wish I had taken a picture of the whole pizza, but take my word for it, it was tasty. Tried Gianni's for the first time today, 8/30/24. I was in the mood for a 'GOOD' thick crust pizza, and they have it. We got a plain cheese, nothing plain about it, and a meat lovers Chicago pie, lots of meat, both were great tasting (crust, sauce, cheese all delicious). They are a little out of the way from where we live in Columbia, but worth the trip. Oh yea, I got a couple of their their desserts, and YES, Miss P.A., we will be back, your fresh made chocolate cannoli are amazing. The young lady behind the counter, super polite, quick, kind, and very easy to converse with. There is seating available don't go looking for any Michelin Stars, after all it is a small shopping center pizza place. I would pick this place 9 times out of 10 over Ledo Pizza. Their kitchen is "Italian scratch" styled, making everything they serve in-house. I was in the area for work and thought I'd stop at Soobway. I saw Gianni's and decided to try that instead and beyond happy that I did. I got the Italian Sub. It was delicious, packed with flavor and generous portions of meat. I got my bread toasted and it was perfectly crisp on the outside and fluffy in the middle. The veggies were crunchy and fresh, but the winner is what tasted like a roasted red pepper and oil vinegar sauce. The service was great. I was clearly exhausted and the staff was so kind and patient. They explained the sandwich I was asking about, brought my food to the table, and even asked how was doing despite being pretty busy. 10 out 10. I will be returning! Although we've been back numerous times, I never thought about writing an update till now. The food is always fresh and tasty, and the service is good, so why update? Well ... The other day, I really wanted a gyro and DD wanted a calzone - no problem, I know just the place. Ordered by phone and picked up 10 minutes later. I made a mistake, and to be honest myself and the two workers were distracted and amused by two patrons who were cracking jokes. So it never occurred to me that my Greek salad should have been in a separate container from hot food. I arrived home and after smh I decided to call and ask about a credit. I believe it was probably the owner who answered and was immediately apologetic (and scolded the employees in colorful language!) He asked if I'd be back in any time soon and I said I would, so he said he'd put a note on the refrigerator that said "Becky - Greek salad - credit". It was actually two days before I called and ordered the salad, which was ready in 5 minutes (!) and sure enough, as soon as I started to explain, the server asked, "Are you Becky?" She pulled the ticket off the frig and I thoroughly enjoyed the delicious salad when I got home. Great service!! read more

We've lived in the area for over a decade but never made it over to Gianni's until recently. First impression wasn't great. A paper sign that says "No free water. .50 cents per cup". I'm hoping they've had problems in the past with people not ordering food and only drinking water hanging around. If that's the case, the sign should say "no water cup without food purchase" or something. But if they are actually charging paying customers for a water cup, that's just sad and petty. Despite them being busy, our food was made in a reasonable amount of time. We ordered pizzas, a salad, subs, and a few other things. Ratings: Pizza- 8/10 quality, 6/10 price Sub- 7/10 quality, 6/10 price Salad- 5/10 quality, 4/10 price The pizza was by far the best part of the whole experience. If it wasn't so pricey per pie, I'd gladly come back. The thing is, there are several other options, locally owned and not, nearby where the quality is close but the price is much better: Squisito's (also pretty pricey), Casa Della Nonna, Mama Lucia's Cantina, Mamma Roma's. A little less local, but Bubba's 33 in Glen Burnie can make a mean pizza as well. Given all the other options, I'm not sure this place is worth the premium they're charging. Sub- Nothing to write home about. Again, more than I would expect to pay most places and not really worth it. Salad- Saddest part of the meal. You never really know to expect when you order a salad from a pizza joint. Not the worst I've ever seen (two pieces or romaine with some parmesan cheese sprinkled over the top), but nowhere near the best either. If it was larger I would say it was a reasonable value but felt like we overpaid for what we were given. The ultimate question: Would I go back? Maybe. I'd stick to simpler pizzas as their specialty versions are too much. Given all the other options, I doubt we'll go back any time soon, especially if they are trying to nickel and dime people for water. read more

I really liked this place. 5 bucks for big slice of cheese pizza and a bottle of soda. The counter person was really friendly and offered to serve my slice at the same time as my friend's even though they were gonna be ready at different times. I liked all the seasonings they offered at the tables. One of them seemed like Parmesan cheese mixed with dried basil which was good. They also had pepper flakes and I think garlic powder. Ordered a large New York style pepperoni and sausage pizza. Service was great and super quick. Pizza was also very affordable. Tasted amazing and was really happy with it. The only thing I would point out was the pepperoni and sausage toppings were big time skimped on. It wasn't like the pictures I've seen here on Yelp. That being said though, I like a cheese pizza just as much anyways so I was happy regardless and didn't care that much to make any deal out of it. Still deserves 5 stars. This place has very good pizza. It's kind of a hole in a the wall place. Pizza however came out very hot and ready. Food: We ordered the veggie plus sausage and also godfather. Godfather was great and demolished quickly, with a sweetness somewhere. The Veggie also had the sweetness but I think that was more because of sweetened peppers. Also the mushrooms are not fresh. Leaving out these main ingredients, I would recommend all the others. Parking: Shared lot in a strip mall but no issues on both times we have gone there. We visited the area for two weeks from upstate NY. I'm not really sure how we came across this place with their very limited web presence, but somehow we managed to scrounge up a photo of their menu and placed the order over the phone. We ordered a white pizza and added chicken, broccoli and feta. We weren't 100% clear on what we were doing, but it seemed to match our cravings at the moment. We threw in a cheese steak and a gyro as well. The pizza had a good NY style consistency, which I think was what we were going for. The feta cheese gave a boost to the already creamy and salty white style pizza. It was great for the first slice, and increasingly a little much with every slice after. I ended up eating a slice for lunch over the next few days to finish it up. I'll bet they make a decent pepperoni. The cheese steak and the gyro were good, nothing out of the ordinary. The whole experience was rushed on our end, I think we would have found a better place to order from if we had more time. The place itself was pretty small and would have been easy to miss.
