They are a favorite place to stop on First Fridays, when I can hardly get in the door! And the stream of new and fun fashions and accessories is non-stop. Service is friendly and personal, too. Still one of my favorite stops. This is like shopping in a dear friend's great closet. Although the store is tiny, the variety always surprises me, and the service can't be beat. I find interesting items I find nowhere else, and while their prices are consistent with other stores, their sale items make them more affordable. There is even a comfortable place to sit! I have purchased tops, purses, outerwear, scarves, jewelry, and other items. Easy to miss since it is north of Casa Bonita and before the train tracks, up a couple of stairs. But with such a uniquely-vintage location and terrific items and service, it is worth the extra steps. Easy parking right in front, or in the copious parking lots around the corner on Lake Street. No I do not work for them - I am just a huge fan and want to be sure they stay in town!

I asked around for the best seamstress to make a bat mitzvah dress and made an appointment with someone else. Days before our first appointment I started hearing stories about girls dresses falling apart that was made by this other seamstress. I got nervous and asked around once again and Mimika came highly recommended. I called Mimika and felt really confident with I had chosen the right seamstress by the questions she was asking me about my daughter and the dress. We got to know Mimika and her team pretty well during the dress making process since there were a bunch of fittings and she ended up altering the rest of the familys clothing for the big weekend. She is absolutely lovely. She also may be the busiest seamstress in town with the # of people coming in and out of her office for fittings, but she always made her deadlines. The dress she made was even prettier than the tiktok original. She also took the material from the dress and added it to a pair of white Jordan's, which completed the look. My daughter was thrilled. I was also thrilled with a dress she altered for me. I had trouble finding a dress to wear for the occasion and finally found one i liked, but not loved. However, after Mimika altered it I loved it and it was just perfect for the occasion. Two weeks before my daughter's bat mitzvah she had a little freakout that the high low dress she had chosen was going to rip in the mosh pit. She asked if we could shorten it and I called Mimika in a panic. She assured me there was no way this dress could rip, but said she would shorten it if that's what my daughter really wanted. I trusted that it wouldn't rip and she was right; the dress held up perfectly all night long (and there was a lot of moshing :)). I've already decided that Mimika will make my dress for my son's bar mitzvah in 2 years after seeing her amazing work. She told me to call her 6 months ahead of time to leave plenty of time. It's in the calendar, but look forward to visiting her for alterations before then.

I had made arrangements to pick up 2 dresses for alterations and they forgot them at home. They said they would go back home to get them, but I decided to give them more time and pick it up the following week. After I brought the dresses home, I saw that they forgot to alter one of the sides of a dress - it still had the pins in it. Mimi was apologetic, but my husband had to go drop it off again and then pick it up the next day. When I got the dress back - I noticed that there were numerous pulls in the fabric of the dress along the side that had to be quickly altered. I did not even bother to call her to tell her about it. I will definitely not be going back. Their alterations are good - not great. If you are looking for simple hemming or alterations - I think they would be acceptable. Anything other than that - do not go here. Also - Make sure to remind them about your confirmed pick up times/dates. VERY IMPORTANT. I was truly hoping that they would be terrific since they appeared to be warm and friendly. Very disappointed.

This Uncharted is similar to the one in Arlington Heights, which looked somewhat newer. It also had many different departments, each selling trendy merchandise. There seemed to be a lot of cute things that I could browse had I had more time to shop. I ended up grabbing several boxes of moisturizer and headed to checkout. The cashier was very friendly; she called some manager trying to check if I could combine two deals at the same time. I had a 10% off the entire purchase for the first time for rewards member coupon, and a monthly $5 coupon. As she apparently did not get a clear answer, she scanned both barcodes to let the system decide. It worked and saved me over $15. That's perfect customer service! It's bright and spacious. There's something for everyone, from kids, women's, men's, books, cards, home goods, bath, accessories, and more! Many different brands that's appealing to everyone. The store is laid out in sections and well organized. There is so much to look at. It's a pre-teen and teen haven, lots of cute things. For those who know, it's a Lad and Lassie (a former mom and pop shop in Wilmette) on steroids plus goods for other age groups. It's the perfect place for a gift.
