At first, it looked like I might have to come back because my gel polish made it hard to examine the nail. Instead of having me make another trip, Dr. Maggie took a closer look, realized the nail was lifted and no longer viable, and removed it carefully bit by bit. I was incredibly nervous, but the entire process was surprisingly quick and completely painless. She also took the time to trim my other nails and gave me helpful tips to prevent this from happening again. She immediately recognized there was damage to my nail matrix, and her confidence and expertise made me feel I was in great hands. What impressed me most was how thoughtful she was. She never rushed, explained everything, and genuinely cared about making the experience as comfortable as possible. However, Blue Shield's written response states that my podiatrist visit is subject to a $50 copayment under my plan, that no corrected claim has been received from the provider, and that no updated EOB will be issued. OMG! Dr. Liu is amazing!…read more I'm all about "experience". So let me share with you my visit to Dr. Liu's office. I'm a new patient and this was the first time I visited Dr. Liu's medical facility. Before I can enter the building, there was a lady who greeted me and asked Covid questions. Then gave me a disposal mask that she asked me to wear solo or with the mask I already had on. Then I went to Dr. Liu's office. Not quite busy but greeted cordially by the front office ladies. They game forms to complete because I'm a new patient. Not even 5 minutes later, they called me in to see the doctor. Wow ! No wait time. I didn't even get to complete the forms and I'm a fast writer. Anyways, I say Dr. Liu pretty quick and I just loved her positive energy and smiles behind that mask! She did a physical assessment of my right foot, asked me questions on when, how and what. Then she gave me a clear explanation of why I was having the pain. She educated or laid out three options of treatment and allowed me to make the decision. I ended with cortisone shots. She explained side effects and what I can expect. She still encouraged me to consider the two options to help with the pain and healing. She's super amazing!!!!! If you are having or have foot problems, see Dr. Liu. I expected Dr. Edmond Lee to actually review that hospital report and CT findings before forming an opinion. Instead he barely looked at it and told me I was wasting my insurance company's money by getting the imaging done in the first place. That is an incredibly dismissive thing to say to a patient dealing with a real, documented fracture with a missing fragment, not some vague complaint he gets to wave off. He did not take the time to actually walk me through what was going on with my foot or explain his reasoning when I had questions. It felt like he had already decided what he thought before even looking closely at my file, and I left with less clarity than I came in with. If you want a doctor who will actually read your records and take your imaging seriously, I would look elsewhere. 1 star.

I understand offices need to stay on time, but there was no flexibility or understanding for a child who had been taken out of school for an appointment that was already difficult to schedule.
