The two ladies who work here are incredibly kind and welcoming. Their customer service is honestly wonderful, and I really appreciate how nice they are every time I come in. Unfortunately, I've had an ongoing issue with the strong chemical smell on my clothes after dry cleaning. The odor is very overwhelming and unpleasant. I brought the clothes back and asked if they could redo them to help remove the smell, but unfortunately it didn't make a difference. I've been coming here for years, but in the past year something has changed. I'm concerned about the type of chemicals being used because the scent is so strong, and I worry that harsh cleaning products could potentially damage my clothes over time. I truly hope they can address this issue, as the staff themselves are lovely. read more

I normally don't leave bad reviews, but this experience was extremely disappointing. My mom brought in a white coated jacket for dry cleaning, and when I picked it up, the coat was covered with long hairs. Since the coat is white, it was very noticeable. It honestly looked like someone had worn it after cleaning. My mother has short hair, so the long hairs clearly did not come from us. When I pointed this out, the owner became defensive and insisted the hairs were not from their shop instead of apologizing or trying to understand the issue. On top of that, they damaged the snap buttons on the coat. The white coating on the buttons had melted/peeled off after their cleaning process. At first, they denied responsibility for the damage as well. Eventually they agreed to re-clean the coat and repair the buttons, so we gave them another chance. After waiting almost TWO MONTHS, we came back only to find out they could not fix the coat after all. The buttons were still damaged, the coat condition was worse, and they refused to provide any refund because of their "policy." What shocked me most was the lack of accountability and customer service. There was no sincere apology, only excuses and denial the entire time. After reading other reviews, I realized other customers also experienced damaged clothing here. At this point, I honestly don't know what customers are supposed to do in situations like this. If anyone has suggestions on how to handle businesses damaging clothing and refusing responsibility, please let me know. I truly regret trusting this place with an expensive white coat. Would not recommend. read more

This used to be my favorite cleaners, easy, convenient and the ladies are always friendly. In the past couple of months quality has gone way down. My clothes are left with a terrible headache causing smell, I've needed to take back items because of how bad it is. I'm not sure if the owners are trying to cut corners but I will not be coming back. I doubt owners care with such a low rating on yelp as it is. read more

The worst experience ever. Ruined my wedding guest dress and wouldn't reimburse my money. My dress was cross crossed from back turned it into two straps and the alterations were 0/10. Very rude when trying to explain myself. Elain said something along the lines that I was calling her stupid but I did not ever mean that. Very inconsiderate do not come . read more

I used to use them for dry cleaning, and they were good. That being said, this review is for Payless Alterations. It's the adjoining business. I took in a pair of new Dickies brand overalls today. The zipper broke - after 3 wears! I know this is more of a Dickies quality problem, but the sign says "zipper" and "all kind of fix"!!!! So, I took them in. They turned me away. Didn't try, didn't quote me a price, nothing. Now, my Mom and Aunt are fixing everything. I didn't want my visiting mother to do it? I wanted to pay an Alteration business to do fix them! Especially based on the sign out front! Just tell people "we're too busy, or too lazy"???? Thanks for nothing! Change your signage. read more

I have been coming here for years, and quality has gone way down in past year. In the last 3 weeks and multiple drop offs, 3 pair of light colored pants remained stained. Was told "nothing we could do and that they tried". Brought them home after paying the $6/pair and threw them in the wash after spraying with "Spray & wash", and stains came out perfectly and didn't need pressing. Then another pair of pants that have a side button on each side and one is now missing after picking them up (they hung in hanger so that side didn't show). Officially done going here. read more

My wife brought them a jumpsuit for alterations. They left the length uneven then tried to charge her 10 bucks to fix them after already having paid 14 bucks. Too many excuses give me back the 14 bucks. After a very animated discussion Gave me back the original money. They don't stand behind there work. If you value your clothes don't go there. read more

The hole left in my sweater defeats the purpose of dry cleaning my clothes so that they'll last longer. The lady said she can sow it but it'll leave my sweater with a pinch look, other than that she said there's nothing she can do. I know there's disclaimers but customer service is everything and Payless Cleaners doesn't provide that. My favorite part was when she said, "clothes don't last forever. " I told her this is the second time I bring this sweater. That's still new to me. read more

Payless Cleaners is an amazing business. Not only do they clean your laundry at affordable prices, they are caring, honest and do the right thing!. I am new to this cleaners because my previous cleaners closed. I hurriedly dropped off two pair of pants on my way to work without checking the pockets. I received a call 30 minutes later requesting that I come back and pick up a large sum of money found in one of the pockets. Huge thanks to these ladies for their honesty and returning the money. Highly recommend this establishment! read more

I just switched cleaners to a more convenient location to my home. I went to put on my favorite shirt this morning and there were several bleach marks all over it. It was ruined. I took it back to the cleaners and they claimed that it was not their fault. The shirt was in perfect condition when I dropped it off to the cleaners and it has been wrapped in plastic in my closet until this morning when I went to put it on. They are taking no responsibility. They are not compensating me for the cost of my shirt. Never go to this cleaners. They will ruin your things and you will have no recourse. read more

Eh. Two stars because the staff is nice. I dropped off some work pants and silk blouses. I specifically told them that the pants required pleats. Picked up my stuff, took it home, put in closet, 3 days later i take them out to wear... my one pleat became two very visible unruly pleats. Very upsetting. Also, they made a hole in my silk blouse so I'm super upset about this situation as well... read more

This place has been reliable. They've been helpful and affordable. I'm just filling this out so I get $5 off the cost of my dry cleaning.

Went here yesterday hoping they would be able to get the tap off my velvet comforter, she said let me try something and got a lent roller and began rolling and pulling on my comforter and well doing so she ripped my comforter! Not only is my comforter still sticky but it also has a rip! . I told her you tore a whole in my comforter and she's like yea see we can't fix it. They're should be something done for this! I spent $25 dollars on buying this comforter. Fix the problem you made! read more

I should've read the reviews before bringing my clothes here. They snagged a suit jacket and blamed the material. It was only worn once and first time dry cleaning. They don't take accountability and said nothing is guaranteed. If u want to risk an expensive article of clothing, you'll end up losing. run away from this place. The owners suck and so does this place. DO NOT GO HERE! When I was checking my clothes and found the snag she asked why are you checking? I'm flabbergasted. If you check other reviews, so many of them got holes in them. Then I tried to scan the yelp QR CODE at the cleaners to leave a review, she snatched the QR code away and said I can't leave a review. Unbelievably horrible service, read more

Great service and great price. Very friendly and accommodating when we travel they hold our clothes till we return no issue. They fixed a tear in a pair of pants we brought you can't even tell that they were torn prior! Definitely recommend this place and we will be long time customers. read more

We have been lucky to be their customer for almost 17 years, and I am more than impressed with how careful and reliable they are. the front desk workers are always pleasant, willing to help, and prompt. I literally never have a hard time reaching anyone. Their rates are very reasonable read more

I went there one time, because the front window display showed that they will dry clean shirts for $2.75 per shirt. When I returned to pick up my dry cleaning, I was told that dry cleaning for shirts was $4.00. The gal explained to me that the price listed in their window was pre pandemic and that price had increased to $4.00 per shirt. I then asked her why they were still advertising $2.75 per shirt in their window, and she informed me that they had not gotten around to changing their display. Come on!, it's been almost 4 years since the pandemic. read more

Great service, as well as reliable. I only go here now! Very friendly. I totally appreciate their attention and effort.

I was pretty surprised to see the negative reviews on Yelp as I first looked this cleaners up. I live just minutes from here so this has been the number one stop for me. Price wise, I think the price is pretty cheap and fair, it's not easy for small businesses in today's economy as you can see. I'm here about twice a week to have my shirts, jeans and pants cleaned and I'm happy with the results. Customer service is a plus too; the ladies are nice and friendly. Parking wise, I think it'd get a bit busy on the late afternoon weekends because of the restaurant near by. But it only takes a few minutes to pick up your clothes so I don't really think it's a major problem. Would recommend to a friend :D read more

Payless Cleaners - Store front - Laundry Services Near Me - La Habra, California

Always a good experience at Payless Cleaners: excellent quality service, friendly staff, reasonable prices! Thank you Payless!

Do not take your clothes here!!! They ruined one of my favorite shirt by cutting it on the side. It was literally a new shirt, maybe wore it 2 times. Took it h here to get dry cleaned because I love crisp white button down shirts. When I picked up my shirt and tried it on to go out, I noticed there was a slit on the side of my sleeve. I took it back to them immediately and they refused to take any responsibility and suggested the slit was there. I assured them that this is a new shirt wore it twice, never even washed it. Still refusing to take any accountability for it. When I asked that they fix it otherwise reimburse my shirt they reluctantly said they will try to fix but can't guarantee how it is going to come out. The ladies there are very unprofessional and very loud and rude. Anyways I just picked up my shirt and this is the best they can do? I paid over $250 for this shirt so I told them they are technically liable for destroying my shirt. Again they said the slit was there before. I told them usually dry cleaners will inspect shirts to make sure there are no damages to the shirt so that they won't be liable but they shrugged it off and refused to even acknowledge my point. I asked if I can talk to the owner and they said "owner not here" I asked if they can give me the contact information. They refused. I said ok I'll give you my contact information and you can contact the owner and have her call me back immediately. They said they don't have the owner's contact information. Does that even make sense? I mean I'm Asian too so I'm not a racist when I say this but these Asian ladies lack fundamental logic. How does that even make sense? I demanded a contact information and Elaine gave me the business card of the dry clean facility as the owner's contact and told me to call. As I got in my car I called the number Elaine gave me and Elaine got the phone. I was so frustrated and said, I thought you were giving me the owner's number, she yelled," I'm very busy" and hung up the phone. I rushed back in there and she basically yelled at me and told me to never come back. I have never been to an establishment that treats customers in this manner. My husband used to take ton of his clothes there so we were actually regulars there. Which is more shocking because if I was an owner of a dry cleaners and my regular customer said her shirt was ruined, I would take care of her and make sure our relationship is still in good standing. These ladies have no idea how to run a business and in fact I think they are the owners but just didn't want to deal with it and made up that they just work there so they don't have to take any responsibilities. Do not take your clothes here. I am out a perfectly good white shirt. Truly if they had said I'm truly sorry how can I make this right, I actually would've been more accepting of this as mistakes happen. But their down right refusal to take any sort of responsibilities and trying to turn it around saying there was a slit there before...Like seriously? Don't insult my intelligence. If I can give no star I would've. We will not be returning here ever again. And if you care about your clothes, do not take it there. These ladies are clueless! . read more

A few years back they put a hole in my favorite silk shirt. Covid hit and I started to use another shop. The other shop was much more expensive so I returned to Payless. After a few visits with no issue I took another nice silk shirt. It was torn or shredded. Nice people but I'll never go back read more

I love this place. They have an excellent dry cleaning service. Their prices are very reasonable. For instance, to clean a press a dress shirt it only costs $1.25 and to dry clean most skirts, blouses, dresses, etc. only costs $1.75. They also have an express service. So if you need to get your clothes quickly they can work with you. I think it's one of those things where you have to get it in before a certain time that day. But the usual turnaround time for my clothes isn't that long. I don't wear dry cleanable clothes that often, so I'm never in a hurry to get them back. The only thing I wish is that they were closer to my home. I guess I just have to put up with this dry cleaner being close to my work instead. read more

Wow, look at all these bad reviews! Personally I haven't had a bad experience here so far. I like coming here because of location (near my parent's house) and the prices ($1.25) per shirt. I must admit the 'no debit/credit card' is still unacceptable. I can understand a hot dog stand or a swap meet, but not the dry cleaners. PLEASE read the review I left for JP Cleaners in Torrance!! read more

I give this place a 2 because the girls there know me by now and are always always very nice. Other than that, here's my wishlist: *I wish their prices were a little less expensive I* wish that they soon get with the program and finally accept credit cards. *I wish they take down their "same day service" sign off their window because they don't offer it anymore. Now I wonder....why do I still come here? read more

I've had a lot of luck with their service and cleaning. I've been in a few times now, and they are always friendly with great customer service. They did a nice job. hint *tell them when you don't want a crease in your pants. otherwise they do it for everything including casual capri pants! read more

I only gave this place a 1 because I know the employees are kind...you know the saying, "You get what you pay for". Well it's true at this cleaners. You pay less and you will get back less in return. It took me two years to figure out that the stains appearing on my nice dress shirts were a result of this place. It also seemed like they did not wash my shirts and pants but just pressed them as is. It's like I took off my shirt and just ironed it rather than washing it as well. Very bad cleaning and pressing! I started going to a cleaners up the street and my clothes came out immaculate! It costs a little more but my clothes did not come out stained and ruined. read more

The price is right and the garment is clean, but the workmanship is really poor. No care given to collars and cuffs and spot removal. White shirt collars folded over themselves and wrinkled; cuffs not fully pressed leaving light wrinkles; spot not treated on placket. Looks like a hurry up job with no care. If cheap and clean is all you care about, you're good to go. read more

Darn, I should have checked out yelp prior to visiting this place. First off, I am new to dry cleaning. I went to this place because it was $1.50 per dress shirt and I had 25 shirts. Boy, you get what you pay for! One my newer shirts that I wore less than 5 times came back with black puffy stains on the left collar, back collar, and left cuff. I knew right the way that the stains were done by the cleaner because of the strange locations and I don't play with dirt at work! I went back and showed them the stains. They were very defensive saying that they didn't do it. Customer service? What customer service? They said "oh, I remember.... we didn't even wash these shirt, we just pressed them. You brought 20+ shirts right?" I was like what the heck! I paid you to launder/press and now you tell me that you did not even wash my shirts. I was so upset and just took my shirt back. It was not worth the hassle. This business is very dishonest. Needless to say, I will not go back. Hopefully, anyone who read this review will not go to this place. read more

AVOID THIS PLACE! They deserve MINUS stars!! I wore an expensive silk dress for only about 5 hours and brought it in to be dry cleaned (because I had worked up a sweat during those 5 hours). The dress came out of the shop four days later with THREE big stains in the front!!! Of course they denied ever having to do with the stains, said the material stains easily (bullshit), and they don't guarantee anything. They begrudgingly agreed to clean it again - I haven't gotten it back yet, but I'm not holding my breath. The dress is basically ruined if those stains don't come out. I'm not asking for a guarantee. I'm asking them to do their job RIGHT. I'm asking them to not RUIN something that was practically brand new when it went into their store. Avoid this place. read more

Nope! Not coming back. First of all, ruder staff...next charging $0.25 for using a credit card when my bill was $27.00. Most of all, not very fund of the service I received from this place...rude rude rude! read more

I have been going to Payless Cleaners for 10 years. It really started based on price and convenience - and they allowed me to write checks. They were okay, but I always felt like the lady in the front took care of me. A few months ago the great lady that I came to know was no longer there and I learned that she was not coming back. Unfortunately, the new gal really took me to the cleaners with my most recent dry cleaning - charging $6 each for each dress x 2. At that point, I was done. They are not that good to be able to charge me premium dry cleaning prices at an okay facility. I am now at Riviera cleaners because it is closer to my house, the reviews are great, and I discovered that I would have saved $10+ on my last bill. I would take my clothes here again if I had to. However, I think they are getting a little greedy with their prices for just okay service. read more

NO! I've taken shirts to get pressed here and they've come back wrinkly. I've taken ties to get stains removed and they come back noticeably faded in the stained spot.
