My cousin's exam lasted only about four minutes, and mine was similarly brief. Shortly after the visit, we both developed pink eye, which raised serious concerns about the care and hygiene during the appointment. During multiple follow-up visits, the approach felt repetitive and dismissive. Dr. Salzman primarily prescribed antibiotic eye drops at nearly every visit, even after my pink eye had already cleared. There was little explanation provided, and no meaningful discussion of what might be causing the ongoing issues. At one visit, she noticed an eyelash in my eye and again defaulted to prescribing more drops. At my last visit on Tuesday, I still had an issue with my left eye and was once again given antibiotic drops without a thorough evaluation or clear explanation. Overall, the appointments felt rushed and overly focused on prescribing medication, rather than carefully examining the issue or addressing concerns. I did not feel listened to or properly evaluated, and I left feeling frustrated rather than reassured. I expected a much more careful and patient-centered experience, especially for what began as a routine eye exam.

These days, it's very complicated to have medical records distributed to your network of active physicians. Records that I had requested of another hospital did not make it to Westchester Medical Center/Dr. Ash on a timely basis. Christine walked me through form by form to make sure that all the teas were crossed and the I's dotted. I highly recommend Dr. Ash for her, no nonsense medical probing and expediency. The team here is managed well from appointment setting through the nursing staff who take your vitals through follow up. I would expect nothing else and nothing less of a teaching hospital. In order for me to see the doctors, I journey over an hour each way - well worth it to get the expertise and level of experience. The care you'll receive is efficient and thoughtful.

This will be a page turner…read more First a synopsis: My first visit to this hospital, to see a patient. Everything I encountered left me impressed! Over the course of several decades; I visited dozens of people, in almost as many Hospitals. So I can confidently write this review based on actual experience and not emotion. From the moment you arrive on the property you'll notice it's well laid out in a logical and convenient manner for visitors, usually family, who are already stressed. There's plenty of free parking near the several entrances. The Security Dept personnel are extremely courteous, professional, and reassuring; explaining procedures and giving directions to the various locations, in a very pleasant manner. The staff at the Nurse's Station acknowledge you when you arrive. Unlike many places, where you could stand there indefinitely while they stare at their computer monitors; without the slightest inkling of proper guest relations. IF, it was the other way around I'm certain these same people would be raging "Karen's"! The food service Dept. delivers meals that are on par with a four star hotel restaurant . There are actual ceramic dishes, no plastic plates or styrofoam glasses, knives and forks like a real restaurant, again no plastic sporks. The tray is artistically set, as opposed to haphazardly arranged. They realize that when you are in the hospital, there's not much else to do; so food is one of those things you can actually look forward to and enjoy. So, after a few visits; I can say everyone I've encountered has been exceptionally professional, helpful, and courteous. It's reflected in the quality of care they provide in every aspect of the Hospital's operation.
