Great eye doctor! Thorough, kind, knowledgable, caring! Highly recommended. But please replace the chairs, which are old and uncomfortable.

An a subsequent call, the receptionist said she'd call me right back, and didn't call back at all. When I left my comprehensive appointment, I was given either someone else's prescription, or an incorrect one. 2. I don't know the name of the doctor I saw (neither of the Dr. Nightingales, for the first time). He seemed competent enough, and I had no complaints at all - except that I left the practice with the wrong prescription - a single one for a progressive pair of glasses (which I haven't worn in years), and not for the two pairs I HAVE worn for years which I came to update. Since the receptionist is incompetent and doesn't answer or return phone calls, I don't know if the doctor or the desk was at fault for the wrong prescriptions. When I finally had a call answered, the receptionist sounded confused by the problem, but said she would email the correct prescriptions "in an hour." Shocker: she didn't. A subsequent call, and the receptionist said she'd call me right back. Shocker: she didn't. On my fourth or fifth call, I spoke to someone different, who took charge and finally sent what I THINK are the correct prescriptions. All of this delayed the new glasses by at least 5 days and counting (partly because of the weekend.) I'm now expecting to shift either to the excellent Dr. Hornbeck around the corner, whom I've seen before, or downgrade to simple optician in-house eye-testing for routine glasses/contacts prescriptions.

My daughter had visited the office to get several eye examinations. The Office sent us a bill for each of the service performed mentions the "same description of the examinations" performed in the invoice. But each time the deductible charged by the insurance was different. So confused, we contacted the insurance and they mentioned that each time a different CPT code was used. I called the doctors office they were not helpful or did not want to provide the details of the service and asked me to check with insurance. Confused, so just landed up paying without knowing why they were using different CPT codes for each of the service and why it was different. I think patients owe an explanation of the services performed in the invoice.

They gave me a appointment on the same day when I really was in a emergency. Dr. Joshua is professional and polite with a smile to greet you. He is a fine young doctor with many years of experience and did a thorough exam without having to dilate my sensitive 72yr old eyes. I have cataracts and had surgery and laser after surgery but, I suffer from dry eyes, pain, allergies and red eye. He came through and prescribe a gentle non steroid anaesthesia eye drops that really restored and relieved my symptoms. I was impressed how time efficient his office at West End Ave is that I wanted to share this wonderful Ophthalmologist MD to all who have vision problems like me. I have Aetna PPO and he accepts many more insurances. You can find more info at: https://www.nydoctorprofile.com/dispatch Just input his last name Beer and first name Joshua and you can see he is a practicing NY doctor with no mal practice his education and his licence. He is fairly new so some items might not be updated. Just make sure your insurance covers your doctor and you will be ok. Also there is a moderate $50 copay out of pocket fee for a prescription for glasses. For this you can go to your local glasses store like Cohen's or Lens Crafters and see a Optometrist that can give you a free eye exam or cheaper. Some insurances give you eye exam 1 per year which is covered and can be filled by Optometrist. If you need advanced corrective diagnosis then you probably better getting the prescription done at the Ophthalmologist MD.
