Things were starting to wear out on it, but buying a newer car was not within the budget. At one point I could no longer unlock the Driver's side door from the outside or inside as the long metal arm between the locking peg and the lock itself broke off. No one made or sold that part anymore. I thought I'd have to finish my last year without a car, and then my first couple paychecks after that trying to get a newer one. The mechanics at Mitchell machined a new part and then installed it for about $20. The car saw me through commissioned officer training in the Air Force, and my young family to our first duty station on the East Coast. I'll always be grateful to Mitchell's for going beyond expectations, and at the same time being super understanding of where I was in my life, how needed the car was, and how limited of a budget I had.

After coming back to the shop 3 hours later to pick it up, my car was not at the shop. Turns out they took the car to another shop in town who had the correct machines to get the job done. Fast forward to now, my AC went out again several weeks ago and I'll need to take it in once more to inspect what is happening. While this service was cheaper then competitors I feel it may have been worth it in the long run to take it somewhere else because I'll end up paying more to get it done again anyway at this point.
