Saved our marriage! Michelle is incredible. My spouse and I…read morewere at a complete breaking point. We had tried traditional 50-minute weekly couples therapy in the past, but it felt like we spent the first 20 minutes getting caught up and the last 10 wrapping up, without ever getting to the root of our issues. We needed real help, fast. We found Michelle Shahbazyan and booked an intensive couples coaching session (her extended deep-dive session). It was hands down the best investment we have ever made in our relationship. I had seen her for some personal work many years ago and was so glad to have connected with her again for this new issue. Instead of just sitting back and taking notes, Michelle is direct, empathetic, and extremely solution-focused. Having that uninterrupted block of time during the intensive allowed us to finally tear down the communication walls, stop the endless cycle of arguing, and figure out what was actually going wrong in our marriage. If you are searching for a marriage coach or relationship counselor who actually gives you real-life, actionable tools rather than just generic advice, call Michelle. She completely shifted our perspective and gave us a clear path forward. We left our session feeling lighter, reconnected, and hopeful for the first time in years. Highly recommend her to any couple needing a true breakthrough!

My wife and I spent six and a half hours in our initial session with Michelle. It was helpful, but…read moredid not address a major concern (which had been presented to her prior to our first meeting). Within a week of our counseling session our marriage was worse than before. I contacted Michelle and she said that my wife is very guarded about her issues and the likelihood is that she doesn't want to work on herself. Michelle was correct. In hindsight I regret we agreed to such a long initial session. I think we should have limited our initial session to an hour or two. It could have flushed out my wife's lack of willingness and commitment to counseling and saved us an enormous amount of money with no positive result.

She truly is an empathetic, warm, honest, compassionate person (like I want to be friends with her outside of this). She makes me feel seen and heard in a way you wish everyone could. She has helped me grow and flourish, and arguably is an empath just like me. She doesn't talk too much about herself or make you feel dumb. She truly takes the time to understand you and push you to be better. The practice (pre covid) was easy to check in at. You walked up the stairs, typed your name into an iPad and the therapist came to get you. I could not recommend this office enough. If Michelle is this good, I am confident other therapists are as well.

She was open and honest with her availability and timeline to onboard a new patient and was willing to work in person or remote. I'm glad we went for in person because I wasn't as sold on EMDR therapy as I should have been. It is like unclogging negative thoughts from your brain and giving yourself some real relief from beating yourself up over the moments you fell-short in, and grew-up from. I came into the practice needing a lot of immediate help in quieting my demons of self doubt and then worked through past trauma with Molly to revisit, reframe, and ultimately exorcize those demons from my mind. She is familiar with the theory and practice of Cognitive Behavioral Theory which provided me with nearly immediate relief (hinging, of-course, on my willingness to engage openly with myself and with Molly in the practice). Molly opens by naming what has gone well since our last visit and is good at framing and helping me see my mental and emotional growth over time. (I sometimes forget how hard things were and how far I've come) I feel capable of handling a garbage truck worth of muck coming my way now. When I first walked in her door I would have lost my shit over a little poo on my shoe.

I haven't been to Raise but Jess has treated someone I love. I have encountered many therapist and…read morethere are many out there who are clinically sufficient. What Jess brings to the table is something more, which was a genuine concern for my child. On one of our conversatios she said " I went on this run and I was thinking about"... she was thinking about my kid and how to help. She made me feel like we ( we because as parents, things that affect our kids affect us) were "seen." I think more often than not people get complacent in their careers, including the medical or mental health field, which I would chalk up to human nature. However, she never made me feel like my kid was number or just another patient. She was someone going through something and Jess was going to figure it out. We had to stop seeing Jess due to some circumstances out of my control. Which only lead us to a merry go round of therapists and it wasn't until then, that I was able to fully appreciate her, not only for her emotional investment in my child but also for her instincts, which were proven to be spot on. While on that mental health merry go round, I learned that not every therapist has the capability to convey a genuine sense of commitment and concern for their client/patient , however Jess did. Taking on someone else's emotional pain, trauma, anxieties and fears has to be one of the hardest jobs I could imagine, especially when it comes to children...so I can understand having and internal shut off valve and not fault anyone needing to enact that protective mechanism. But as a parent who's child hurts....I sure as shit want someone who sees my kid, as I see them. Once again I saw Jess early in her career. Not only do I magine that she has gotten better with time but I imagine now that she has her own practice, she chooses people who values their clients as much as she does. ...I did recently refer someone here and they had positive reviews about Jess, Teena and the facility.

Kate is a mind healer!!…read more I went to Kate at a time when I was struggling with grief from the past and had anxiety thinking about the future. She navigated me through my problems by showing me a new perspective that I would have never thought about. She made me realize the power of mindfulness and how to see opportunities even in the darkest times of our lives. She gave me homework exercises for the mind that really worked well for me. Unlike most business, she is actually there when we need her even after the sessions and that made me understand how genuinely she cares about her clients. I am still in touch with her and she still helps me through some difficult situations. I highly recommend Kate.

This was my first time going to see any type of therapist, wanted to give this a try to help with…read moresome anxiety I have experienced over the past year. I went for a total of 3 sessions, had no true expectations but open-minded going in. In the 1st session, I would say 80-85% of the time Kate was doing the talking. Not saying it was not important info or intentional, but thought the client would have done most talking. I left feeling the 1st session, not the most optimistic but still open-minded to continue. 2nd session was a lot better as I got the chance to really talk and open up more, letting out some emotional baggage which I believe is what I was truly looking for. After each session, she emailed me an MP3 to listen for better quality sleep. Honestly, it worked so I was ok with that result. In the last session, I remember we were talking about something and I had I asked for more clarity on what she meant and to me was a snarky/annoyed attitude that she came back with. I noticed this snarky attitude several times from the first time we spoke. Never in a disrespectful way, but enough to me where it was very surprising and not reassuring at all coming from a professional therapist/counselor. Some final thoughts- I was never hypnotized, she gave me the option but felt persuaded to listen to the mp3 only. I was ok with that and would say that worked so overall no issue here. I have not received one call/email asking about how I have been. Our last session was in Feb/March 2020. Just a bit surprising because during the final session she stated that she wanted to continue to work together & she would call before and after upcoming sessions. No word yet. Again don't think this was the best fit for myself, I do not regret going was a very good learning/growth experience. But this is my honest review.
