What Jess brings to the table is something more, which was a genuine concern for my child. On one of our conversatios she said " I went on this run and I was thinking about"... she was thinking about my kid and how to help. She made me feel like we ( we because as parents, things that affect our kids affect us) were "seen." I think more often than not people get complacent in their careers, including the medical or mental health field, which I would chalk up to human nature. However, she never made me feel like my kid was number or just another patient. She was someone going through something and Jess was going to figure it out. We had to stop seeing Jess due to some circumstances out of my control. Which only lead us to a merry go round of therapists and it wasn't until then, that I was able to fully appreciate her, not only for her emotional investment in my child but also for her instincts, which were proven to be spot on. While on that mental health merry go round, I learned that not every therapist has the capability to convey a genuine sense of commitment and concern for their client/patient , however Jess did. Taking on someone else's emotional pain, trauma, anxieties and fears has to be one of the hardest jobs I could imagine, especially when it comes to children...so I can understand having and internal shut off valve and not fault anyone needing to enact that protective mechanism. But as a parent who's child hurts....I sure as shit want someone who sees my kid, as I see them. Once again I saw Jess early in her career. Not only do I magine that she has gotten better with time but I imagine now that she has her own practice, she chooses people who values their clients as much as she does. ...I did recently refer someone here and they had positive reviews about Jess, Teena and the facility.

I am very disappointed with my experience at Lighthouse, particularly with how my concerns…read moreregarding a psychiatric medication were handled. For over two weeks, I repeatedly tried to get a clear answer about whether I could receive a short bridge prescription to get me to an upcoming appointment with a new provider. When it became clear a refill might not be possible, I specifically asked for guidance on how to safely stop the medication. That guidance was never provided. Being left without direction regarding mental health treatment is unacceptable. I chose to leave this practice because I did not feel listened to by Dr. Westbrock. Diagnoses were mentioned without explanation, alternative causes were not meaningfully explored, and my concerns were largely dismissed. When I asked about further evaluation, I was told it would require several additional appointments and approximately $800 in fees, after already paying for the visit I was attending. The process felt more focused on billing than patient care. After securing a new provider, I contacted Lighthouse weeks in advance because I knew I would run out of medication before that appointment. I made it clear that I understood if a refill was not possible and that I was simply asking for guidance. Despite multiple attempts, my requested were ignored by Dr. Westbrock. Even after being told by the medical assistants this bridge refill should have been possible. Lighthouse medical assistants have reached out and apologized on behalf of the team. They stated the issue was with Dr. Westbrock and said that if I wanted a bridge now, three weeks later, they could forward me to the director. I appreciate the medical assistants who attempted to help every time I called. However, this situation should have been escalated to leadership much earlier, and at the end of the day Dr. Westbrock is employed by this office and his actions reflect the office. Overall, this experience left me feeling dismissed and unsupported at a critical moment in my care. The only reason I chose 2 stars instead of 1 was the medical assistants consistently trying their best. It is disappointing they are not listened to by their superiors. I am sharing this so others can make an informed decision when choosing providers.

Front desk never responds to calls upon multiple attempts and messages left. Extremely frustrating.read more

I can't give opinions on new providers as I did choose to move to Verity Health to continue with Kim rather than starting over with someone new. Thank you. Kim Baker is phenomenal, and I'm constantly impressed by her on multiple levels. From the pharmaceutical side, she has a truly tremendous knowledge of medications for not only psychological issues but also in general, meaning whilst she wouldn't personally advise on things like birth control, insulin or pain medication, she is able to have a really well informed discussion about those things should the patient wish to discuss them. (For example I'm a type 1 diabetic, if I feel like venting or griping about it in general, or about the insurance company trying to make me change my insulin she's an active, helpful and empathetic conversation partner able to offer more than just a caring ear, which would be enough, but personally I really value knowing she can fully understand what we're discussing even if outside of her field.) On top of that, she's just a really remarkable person. I see her for medication not for counseling, but we have wonderful discussions about all sorts, and should I find myself needing to talk about deeply emotional issues, I'd be 100% comfortable doing so with her. She's warm, genuine, relaxed and "casual", making things comfortable but still professional. At this point I genuinely consider her a good friend as much as anything else- she's that type of person. I couldn't possibly recommend her any more emphatically- there's no area she's not suitable for, and I'm confident she'd excel regardless of your individual needs.

I could not get a hold of anyone at Optimal health and waited for over 70 mins before I gave up and left. Very unprofessional and waste of a day off I had to take from work. Steer clear if you like having your time valued. What happened: I sent a thoughtful message to my prescribing physician, Dr. Reid, asking about communication and transparency in my care, specifically about a medication restriction that wasn't discussed during our session. This was NOT a request for an early refill or replacement of lost medication. Dr. Wasef, the Medical Director who was not part of my care or that conversation, intercepted the message and completely misread it. He accused me of requesting early controlled substance refills, something I never asked for, and cancelled my active prescription without any discussion or warning. The consequences were immediate and severe: - I went from having an active prescription to having NONE because I asked a legitimate question about my care - I was forced to fill at a pharmacy that only carries the Mallinckrodt manufacturer, a brand that causes me documented severe side effects - I've been suffering from significant fatigue and anxiety without the focus I need, and pharmacists have confirmed this manufacturer is problematic for many patients - Despite multiple emails explaining this medical error, I received ZERO responses from either Dr. Reid or Dr. Wasef This is medical negligence. A patient should not have their medication cancelled based on a complete misreading of their communication. A Medical Director should not intervene in patient care without understanding the context. And a practice should NEVER leave a patient in medical distress without any response whatsoever. The lack of accountability, the refusal to communicate, and the dismissive treatment I received when trying to advocate for my own health is unacceptable and frankly dangerous. I trusted this practice with my psychiatric care, and they abandoned me when I needed help most. If you value responsive communication, accurate record-keeping, and providers who actually read what you write before making life-altering decisions about your medication, go elsewhere.

As…read moresomeone seeking mental health support, I came into the session ready to engage genuinely and openly. However, when I began answering basic questions, Dr Reid abruptly stopped me to say he didn't think I was being "professional." I was stunned. I asked what exactly he meant, and he replied: my tone. Let me be clear--I was calm, respectful, and simply responding to his questions in a way that I genuinely felt was authentic and truthful. If my tone reflected any emotional weight, it's because the questions were triggering, and I was doing my best to be honest--something I thought was not only allowed but appropriate in a mental health setting. Not one of my responses had anything to do with Dr. Reid personally. Instead, his response showed a disturbing lack of empathy and an inability to hold space without personalizing the interaction. When I pointed out that I wasn't being paid to be professional and was instead a client looking for help, I was met with what felt like deflection- He told me since it was the initial consultation, he wasnt getting paid yet either. The interaction left me feeling invalidated and more distressed than before the session. No one is perfect, Mental health professionals are no exception, maybe he was having a bad day? I wish there were a way for mental health practicioners to have the ability to help patients navigate their emotions and most definitely not shame them for how they show up in moments of vulnerability. For whatever reason, Dr. Reid projected his discomfort onto me. Maybe this works for some patients. I would strongly caution others seeking compassionate mental health support to look elsewhere. *** I was threatened after posting this that my appointment was recorded and would be shared if I did not take this post down. I am not taking this post down. Beware that you will be bullied if you do not do what Anza Wellness wants and threatened with sharing your private appointment if you do not comply.

I've been a client at Crisis Preparation and Recovery (CPR) for over three years, and I can…read moreconfidently say this is one of the most inconsiderate, irresponsible decisions I've ever seen a mental health provider make. CPR is abruptly shutting down ALL outpatient services -- therapy and psychiatric care -- as of May 23rd, 2025. They sent out an email with barely a month's notice, leaving hundreds of clients, including myself, without care, without real options, and without enough time to make a safe transition. And it's not just the clients they've abandoned. CPR is firing all of their therapists, case managers, and psychiatric staff with the same short notice. These are professionals who've dedicated themselves to supporting people through trauma, grief, and mental illness -- and now they're left scrambling to find jobs, just like we're scrambling to find new providers. It's a complete failure of leadership and ethics. CPR claims they're shifting focus to "crisis-related issues," but the irony is they're about to cause a wave of personal crises for the very people they were supposed to help. Mental health care is about long-term support, consistency, and trust -- not tossing people aside when they become inconvenient to serve. I've been with my therapist here for three years. She helped me through my brother's suicide, through depression, anxiety, and so much healing. Now, they expect me to just drop all of that progress, start from scratch with someone new, and somehow not unravel? That's not just unrealistic -- it's cruel. We are not just names on a schedule. We are people with lives and pain and progress that mattered. If this is how CPR treats both its patients and its staff, then they've forgotten what "care" even means. Do better. This was disgraceful.
