Mostly lots of booze with my friends. This created a little rift with the wife and she thought that I should seek a therapist. So I was referred to Marcy from a couple people. I had never seen a therapist, so this was uncharted territory for me. I was always a bit of a hard ass and thought I could handle most situations without therapy. Well, I'm sure glad that I started sessions with Marcy. She doesn't mess around and shot me straight. I really appreciate that because I don't want people blowing smoke up my ass. So we first covered the topics of my excess boozing. I had a couple instances where I upset the wife because of my partying. She pointed out nicely that these mess ups wouldn't have happened if I was normal human and cooled out on the drinking. We then had sessions with my wife as well, where Marcy gave me some decent tips for marriage counseling. It really helped to get this perspective on where I went wrong, because my friends have no clue about these topics and are basically not very helpful. After a few months of therapy sessions with Marcy, I was able to reduce my alcohol intake by about 80% while being more attentive to the wife's feelings. This would have never happened on my own. Dr. Silverman had the best reviews so I gave him a call. He answered the phone and I was able to get an appointment that same week. After a discussion with Dr Silverman and Rebecca, they asked if I wanted to go ahead with the testing. It's not typically covered by insurance and they went over the costs with me. First I went through a computer assessment and then brain mapping via EKG. As I suspected, I was diagnosed with ADHD. I purchased a treatment package of neurofeedback sessions and have been going twice a week. I feel really grounded after each session and feel like I'm making good progress. This office treats both children and adults. They even offer Saturday hours, which are very convenient.
