I cannot say enough amazing things about Jane. My daughter has been in counseling for about 3 years now and we never saw any results until we started seeing Jane. Jane doesn't just help our daughter, she has given me countless tools as well. I finally feel like I'm actually equipped to be a parent for the first time in 10 years. I also picked up her book Raising Humane Beings and I couldn't put it down. I read the whole thing in 2 days and had so many "ah-ha" moments. The way I parent has basically done a complete 180 since meeting Jane and our family feels so much more calm and connected now. Jane was born to do this work. I've even decided to start going to her myself for non-parenting counseling as well. If you want actual results from counseling, look no further. Jane is the real deal. Edit: After reading through some of the other reviews I feel the need to add that some of the tools Jane offers may not be considered "conventional"... and that's a GOOD THING. That's why her tools actually work. Don't expect the same old song and dance you're going to get from any counselor you go to. If you go into therapy with an open mind and a willingness to do the work, you will see results immediately. An example for me was her "talking stick" exercise. I thought to myself "there's no freaking way out family is going to sit down and do talking stick"... and after Jane had my daughter and I practice it in a session, it's our new favorite thing! It instantly made me feel so much more connected to my daughter and helped her feel heard and validated. But again, having an open mind and being willing to try something different is key. You have to actually want your situation to change, otherwise no counselor or amount of therapy will work. Seems like the only negative reviews were from people that either never actually had a session with her, or went in and didn't try the tools she recommended, which says less about Jane and more about the reviewer IMO. read more

Since meeting Jane, my relationship with my partner has transcended any space it's been in before. We have ben able to lean into the tools and see real change occur between us. It was difficult and the methods never felt helpful in the moment because of our patterns but we learned that they were doing deeper work in spite of our resistance. I cannot go on about this amazing human enough. Every time I sit down with her I get closer and closer to healing my childhood trauma, reaching a life of peace, gaining the tools to appropriately handle stress and difficulties life throws at me, and becoming more accountable to my own actions and reactions. I went through a lot of things when I was younger that I never healed from nor addressed. Now that I am in my 30's these things had started through a traumatic experience resurface and take over my life and effecting the relationships around me. A while back my fiancé and I met with Ms. Jane and were very impressed with her. I have since referred people at my job and my son to her. My fiancé will continue to go to her again in the future as well. First, Jane has an F rating with Better Business Bureau. They say she does not have proper accreditation. She also allegedly gives her clients discounts for writing positive reviews. Under no circumstances would I recommend so much as inquiring about Jane's services as a counselor. I made that mistake. Her voicemail says to text her. I did, and without ever meeting me or talking by phone, she quickly became verbally manipulative regarding what she wanted my treatment to involve. To give you an idea, I told her that I wanted to work on developing myself as a person and she maneuvered the discussion into mandating my significant other be fully involved in the process. I explicitly told her I was not interested in couples counseling but she tried to force her will on the situation anyway. When it became apparent we were not a good fit, I asked for a full refund (again, we've only exchanged a handful of texts at this point) and she deducted her paypal service fee from the refund(she's the vendor, fees are her responsibility not mine). Petty. Manipulative. Maybe people with no structure and no concept of a constructive therapeutic partnership will find her helpful. Maybe people who actually want couples counseling will find her domineering personality useful. I reached out to her based on the positive reviews. I'm a fairly normal, functional dude with a good relationship, family life, and professional career who wanted a sounding board for some stuff I wanted to work out. She treated me like a basket case or a deviant, or at least a sucker. Imagine if you scheduled an appointment with a doctor regarding a tumor and before the doc had seen you they were already trying to guilt you for not agreeing to an immediate amputation and steal a few bucks for you when you didn't agree with their methodology. Crazy, right? Beware. Maybe I caught her on a bad night, but I've been to a few counselors in my life and she is by far the most combative and manipulative of them. read more

As someone who has been to many therapists over the years, Jane definitely stands out as one of the better ones. She has been helpful in providing some guided meditations to heal childhood trauma and one in particular was one of the most healing meditations I've ever done for that issue. Her location is convenient and the environment is calming. I will caution, however that Jane is very fast paced with her treatment recommendations and advice and I can see how that might not be for everyone, particularly those who have never done much self-reflecting or who may be unfamiliar with counseling. My fiancé and I have been together for 9 years and decided to see Jane before we officially tied the knot. We both felt our communication was a bit lacking but that we love each other with all we have. Essentially we wanted to learn how to speak the same language. Jane is fantastic, she listens but doesn't just let you complain, she gave us exercises to do at home to not just learn how to verbally communicate but to listen in healing ways. I started seeing Jane last year during a very tumultuous time for my family and specifically my marriage. I was a bit nervous at first but Jane makes you very comfortable. She is quirky but in an endearing way. Janes styles offers tons of great communication tools to use as well as self reflection tools. My husband and I still use them to this day. Jane also saw my daughter a few times (she's 14) and my daughter came home feeling very positive and felt she too had received some great tools to use for communicating and self love. I was pleasantly surprised at how helpful the tools she shared were and how they really work! I would definitely recommend Jane. I started seeing Jane after reading excellent Yelp reviews about her work. I saw her for a individual session before our couples with my husband. What Jane failed to tell me was to keep the individual session to myself. I shared it with my husband who decided that Jane was completely against him and a total man basher ( which i later agreed with) and did not want to see her for couples counseling. Jane was three way texting with my husband and I and the situation between my husband and I was getting dangerously worse. She was the catalyst to our demise. I kept seeing her on a individual basis after my husband threatened and left me, but she could not offer me any help. It was waste of time and money. She was referring me to resources that were outdated, Jewish Community Centers for help in meeting basic needs (?). I was in crisis. She advertises for suicidal trauma and I was devastated, yet I left feeling worse each time, until she told me she could not help me. I then asked for a bill. That is when I learned that she is not licensed! She said she didn't provide invoices. I insisted that she provide something and she said she would, yet she never did. I had to request several times and then she told me to request this from her assistant through an email. I was very annoyed. After 6 weeks I finally have some kind of a invoice. i did check with the BBB and she has been dis- credited by the Better Business Bureau, which is a serious matter. She lost her license for some reason that she would not share with me and I did ask her several times. For those of you that are enamored with her thats great, but she is not a professionally licensed practitioner. Every referral she has given me has taken advantage of me from care takers to attorneys. They have been sub par and definitely have patchy back grounds. I have been taken for thousands of dollars all together with dealings and referrals through Jane Feldman. I am very sorry to say. Do your research! read more

I need to update this review. I realize the services I received and review I wrote was over 6 years ago, but it took me most of that time to realize how truly misguided and terrible the advice I received at the time was. I went to Jane with my spouse at the time, who was extremely abusive. During our first session, while doing an exercise, Jane even acknowledge that fact to both us us. I was living with several unresolved issues like codependency, depression, detachment, compartmentalization and trauma among other things which made it extremely difficult for me to recognize and make necessary changes. Rather than getting recommendations on how to deal with the abuse or at least referrals to someone more qualified, Jane wound up actually validating the abusive partner (again, after admitting herself that my partner was abusive), advising me to think, say and do some pretty horrific things that basically amounted to shaming me sexually and emotionally, ending with a particularly awful, traumatic sexual experience. She also recommended me to another colleague who's approach to helping me was equally terrible - coaching me to be more "manly" and completely ignore my past entirely and focus only on the present, thereby turning me on to a whole new way to completely suppress my trauma for the sake of a quick fix from my severe depression. What happened next was that I was led right into the arms of yet another abusive person, this time even more primed than before to suppress my emotions and make justifications and excuses for the situation I was in. Basically, I was led down an extremely dangerous path that wound up digging me even deeper into my hole, wasting another four years of my life. Only now after some real self-analysis that I was able to really see that experience for what it really was. For these reasons I would no longer recommend the services of Jane. read more

Upon investigation of her background you will discovered she is not licensed to practice and refuses to take the licensing exam, undoubtedly because she does not have to knowledge to complete it successfully. Although Jane is a very nice and nurturing lady, she proved to be very unhelpful for my marriage. My wife and I met with her for one session and she had guaranteed to my wife that we would see improvements after our first session. First of all, she made a terrible boundary violation when she met with my wife individually before seeing us as a couple and did nothing to address this when we were seen together. I still have no idea what was said during their first session together. Secondly, we had to listen to her talk for about half of our session (mostly about herself) and I maybe felt heard one time during our entire hour together. Lastly, when we finally began discussing the root issue of why we came to counseling, the subject was danced around and she began talking about her own life again. Needless to say, we did not see improvements after our session and things have become worse. At the very least, find a licensed professional if you need help. read more

Finding a therapist who one feels comfortable in their skills can be tricky. Jane is an effective counselor who provides practical communication tools for use. Jane has provided a different perspective. For example, she incorporates hands on exercises to better understand the dynamic of her clients. Jane had the expertise to help me realize where I can see things differently. Jane offers examples and scenarios that are good, however, in a counseling session it would be my preference to focus on my issues. The counseling session time is less than an hour, I'd love to take full advantage of addressing how to overcome my issues. read more

I've only seen Jane 4 times now, but her guidance has completely changed my life, how I handle my relationships, and given me a huge boost in my confidence. I was a little weary of going to a counselor at first but I have to say, Jane makes you feel extraordinarily comfortable within minutes of meeting her. I was in a very dark place earlier this summer and desperate for help. I was seeing four different therapists desperately seeking guidance. I am so grateful that I found Jane, I don't know what I would do without her. She is down to earth and easy to open up to and speak with. She never judges you, always tries to encourage you, and seeks to pull out the best in you. I have always felt supported and truly cared about in her presence. Something I really appreciate about Jane is that she respects my time and money. If she comes in the room two minutes late, she stays two minutes late. She has also gone above and beyond her one-hour session by checking in with me outside of sessions via text to make sure I was okay. She recommended Omega Vector which changed my life (GO IF YOU CAN!!). I'm gonna start this review off by starting to say that Jane and her reviews are a fraud !!! I went to her with my wife to try and help strengthen our marriage my wife and I have been together for 20 years. I only went to her because she had such great reviews Little did I know that she will give you $50 off by leaving her a positive review I think this is so wrong and misleading to people that depend on reviews. As for our session after her landscapers interrupted us and she got up and left in the beginning of our session for like 15 minutes which was part of our 55 minute session she had us do a couple of exercises (Talking Stick) and write down five things that are important to our relationship. By doing this I guess she completely figured out our 20 year marriage. Then she separated us so she could talk to us 1 on 1 by having me sit outside the room why she told my wife that she needs to get all Sexy up and go out and flirt with other men and go out with her girlfriends and that our marriage was pretty much over. Then she had my wife wait outside and called me in and told me that it was OK for me to just be my wife's friend & that we were not meant to be and that it was OK to parent or five daughters as just friends that there was nothing wrong with that. I told her that I absolutely love and adored my wife and when I met her that I knew that she was the one for me and again we been together 20 years now we only went to her to help fix a few issues in our marriage. But I guess she figured out our 20 year marriage in less than 30 minutes & when she was done talking about her brother and other clients like a husband that had a pornography problem and him and his wife are separated and he was mad that Jane had a session with his wife alone without him behind his back.
