Terrible experience! MTerrible experience! Marcy is unprofessional and untrustworthy. She set up a session with my spouse because she wanted my perceptions and input to help her with the treatment plan. She agreed to confine her questions to those that would help her help my spouse. When I got there, she flipped a switch! It appeared to both of us that she told me that my spouse was under a lot of stress and I needed to work more hours; she was rude and unprofessional. She then apparently began questioning me about my counseling. I kept saying "I'm here to be of service to my spouse. How can we be of service to my spouse?" to try to refocus the conversation. Marcy appeared to get all made and said she said, "you don't control this session!" I tried to explain to her that (because my husband is a minimizer) I didn't think she knew how physically ill my husband is and that he is unable to do the things she had suggested. She seemed to get pissed and took that as me questioning her competence and treatment plan. I don't know why she did not want to know more about about her client's very serious physical illness, which is also called suicide disease. She actually called me "mean" and was very rude. We had to end early because she was unable to de-escalate. Later, when my husband called to cancel service, Marcy aparently admitted that the overstepped her boundaries and said something to the effect that SHE COULDN'T THINK OF A WAY TO DE-ESCALATE! Holy cow! A simple time out to review her notes would have sufficed! I was shocked and sad. I contacted her directly to see if she would take responsibility for her behavior and just got an email from her threatening me with a lawyer, most likely her brother. Also, I answered my emails with Dr. because I am a doctor, and she made sure to use Ms. in addressing me. My husband said if he didn't know she was crazy on the day of the visit, he does now.
