When the doctor came to our home, their presence was calm, respectful, and incredibly compassionate. They treated my dog with such dignity and love, and they gave me the space and support I needed to say goodbye in peace. It meant more to me than I can ever express. Even afterward, the level of care continued. Picking up my dog's remains was handled with such grace and respect--it was clear that every step of the process was done with heartfelt intention and compassion. In a moment filled with so much pain, this team was a blessing. I truly believe God places people in our lives when we need them most, and they were exactly that for me. Their sincerity, kindness, and unwavering support brought comfort to my heart in a time of deep sorrow. But then came Draco Malfoy ... As a bulldog owner & lover, you go into it knowing this breed is VERY high maintenance and demanding but also rewarding. For a second time I was faced with the almost inevitable, breathing issues. We felt we have a responsibility to try to give him the best quality of life possible as bulldog paw-rents. (Even if I was an absolute traumatized wreck all day) **The Staff at PAZ Veterinary and Dr. Might of Austin MVS were absolutely amazing in this process. They answered all of my "over-protective-dog-mama" questions & concerns and calmed my nerves just enough for me to let this surgery happen. Dr. Might even called me before the surgery to talk to me about what happened to my dog that had passed away during this same surgery and let me know he would do everything he could so this wouldn't happen to Draco. I also was told after the surgery that someone from PAZ stayed with him during his ENTIRE recovery to make sure he was ok every second!! How awesome is that?! NOW 8Months Later: Fast Forward to now- 8 MONTHS LATER!!!! He's breathing fantastically! We even joke about his nose sounding like a a wind storm because of how clearly he can breathe. Starting June of 2022 my male cat Hammy started having difficulties urinating. I took him to the…read moreemergency vet two time thinking he was blocked only to be sent home saying he wasn't and the test came back normal. We were told he has feline idiopathic cystitis, and there is really no known cure or treatment for it. We started him on medication for stress and to relax his bladder as well and a special urinary diet. We ran every test for infections, stones and disease all coming back normal, but he was still straining and crying when trying to urinate. Surgery was the last step for us and boy I wish we would have done it first. In January of 2023 we had the surgery with Dr. Key who runs with Mobile vet. Hammy was going to go in for a PU surgery. The day of we dropped him off at our regular vet. And with in two hours Dr Key call saying hammy was next and to walk through what was going to happen in the surgery. And an hour later he call back that he was finished and everything was a success and went over post-op care. He also left contact information if needed during recovery. I did contacts him once it was a Sunday, he got back to me that day and was able to discuss my concerns. Hammy had done great after the surgery. Recovery was long but that is to be expected the with this surgery. But he has had no urinary issue since and Is completely back to himself. I highly recommend these Doctors. Dr Key from my personal experience, and from seeing Dr Allman preform surgery that the clinic I used to work at.

Dr. Krystal Harris has been the most wonderful Dr. (be it for human, or animal), that I have ever…read morehad the fortune of working with. She is caring, skilled, compassionate, highly educated (never stops learning), and I will be forever grateful to her. It is because of Dr. Harris, that my darling dog Stewie (Boston Terrier), not only survived, but thrived with the death sentence of Aggressive B cell lymphoma for nearly 3 years (instead of living for merely weeks or months, as is more typical). He lived to be 12 years old. I, at first, found one of the few oncology vet centers in Austin, and was discouraged to hear that harsh chemo was the first in line treatment option, and that I'd need to drop him off in the morning, and leave him all day (each week). As someone who practices integrative medicine, I was hopeful that there might be a less toxic treatment option to start with, instead of the traditional, by the book chemo. My dog had been doing wonderfully at this point, still feeling great, and was on a low glycemic, hormone free, home cooked diet with supplements. The cancer had not yet overwhelmed his system. A friend of mine recommended Dr. Harris (who, at the time, was at CTVSH). I got on her (months long) waiting list right away, and she was, kindly, able to work me in within a week. Although she was overbooked/ back to back at the clinic, she spent so much time with me, answering my endless questions. She never lost patience, never made me feel awkward, a pain, or rushed. She only reassured me with her expert opinions formed from decades of study and hands on experience, along with her lovely bedside manner. It was obvious that she truly cared and wanted what was best for Stewie and I! My hope was renewed! After our meeting, (and a lot of testing, including DNA tests to see what medications would likely work best on his particular cancer), we decided to try a brand new immunotherapy drug called Laverdia CA-1 (it was relatively inexpensive, and a pill I gave at home just twice a week)! I knew that if it failed, we could move on to a more traditional course. Laverdia did not typically work very well, or for very long for the majority of dogs, but we were very lucky that Stewie responded incredibly well to it, (it kept the cancer knocked back), and we continued this simple treatment for about a year and a half! He enjoyed a normal, healthy happy life! He lived on this drug for much longer than any other dog has to date. Once the laverdia finally ceased to be effective, the cancer became much more aggressive, and I wanted to try something else. She presented to me the best possible options, allowed me to read up, and to choose the next line of treatment from the recommended choices. If she was ever unsure of the answer to one of my questions, or next best steps (Stewie was a very rare, one of a kind case), she would research, and often would reach out to her online network of other Oncology Vets Nationwide, to compare notes/patients, and for more clarity. Krystal is always up on the latest and greatest medical breakthrough advances! She practices integrative medicine, and combines the best of modern and holistic medicine. She also saved me many thousands of dollars because she does not mark up the cost of drugs/tests (as all of the clinics do)! You are only paying Krystal for her valuable skill, time, and cost of supplies and meds. Soon after seeing Krystal, CTVSH went through a lot of upheaval, raised all of the prices, and lost the majority of their wonderful staff. I searched for Krystal online once CTVSH had their unfortunate change, and thankfully, I found her! A Mobile Veterinary service that includes everything that the large oncology clinics do, but in the comfort of your own home! Now she can take her time with each patient and have a healthy work/life balance with her family. In the end, Stewie declined very suddenly (overnight), and I knew it was time for him to rejoin the divine source from which he came. I had not even talked to Krystal about this inevitable part of the situation. She explained to me that she does hospice care as well as compassionate euthanasia. She made Stewie comfortable, and gave me a pamphlet with many options (from a local pet funeral home) who offer burial or cremation, and all that goes along with that. She came to my home, and he was able to cross over peacefully. She took his body to the funeral home for me, and I later received his ashes from her, in a beautiful rosewood box. There is no one else I would have wanted to go through this with. Krystal had become a dear friend to both Stewie and I, and it made this painful transition so much less stressful. Know that if you are ever faced with the unfortunate diagnosis of cancer in your pet, you can feel confident in calling on Dr. Harris. She will treat your pet as one of her own. I have never had to make that decision before. Dr. Burnside was so compassionate, understanding, gentle, and caring, and helped us be confident in our decision that it really was the best thing for our baby Belle. She sat and petted Belle and talked with us and talked to Belle, getting to know her a bit. It was heartbreaking to have to say goodbye, but Dr. Burnside's gentle demeanor and compassionate personality were a godsend. She was so gentle with Belle, and gentle with us. I could tell she really cared about Belle and about us and our feelings. She called me a few days later to check on us, and I also received a personal card in the mail about a week later, in which she included personal details that we had told her about Belle's life when she came over. I was so touched - that was so thoughtful!! Dr. Burnside was amazing for us. Thank you for everything Dr. Burnside.

I am certain I know what the "reason" was; I was evaluating palliative treatments to get a few more days or weeks with my cat who had been diagnosed with a sudden and aggressive cancer at the worst time possible in my own life & health. Although she knew better than to say it directly, her behavior was pretty clear that she assumed I wanted his pain meds for myself. That, or she didn't like that I was looking for a less costly (read: less profitable for her) solution than the one she insisted upon. Either way, instead of having a grown-up discussion about this (after maybe an 8-year-long business relationship, mind you, which had been fine up to that point) she just quit in the middle of this crisis, forcing me to make an already-devastating decision immediately that could have otherwise been delayed. I had to drive my cat to another vet to have him put to sleep the next day since I couldn't afford BOTH the new vet's required exams, etc., for new patients AND palliative treatments the week he needed them. The whole experience was so heartbreaking and traumatic that it's taken me five years to be able to write this long-overdue review without shaking. Even amid the onset of my own health crisis, I never forgot that my primary responsibility was to prevent his further suffering by whatever means I could. A vet has the same responsibility, to owners as well as pets, and to neglect it is beyond reprehensible. I have no doubt that others have had good experiences with her, but so did I, up until then. There's no excuse for the way she behaved and if she did it to me, she will do it to someone else. So please, if this is your vet, don't wait until you are in a vulnerable position with no good options, find another one now and start making the transition as soon as you can. If you aren't working with her yet, but were considering it, please spare yourself the abuse and heartache and find a different one.

Dr. Mullen came to our work studio and was able to make an awful situation as painless as possible. He helped end Olive's pain, and she didn't have to leave the comfort of home or spend her last moments in a hospital. We appreciated Dr. Mullen so much that we recently hired him to come and just give our studio cat and dog regular check-ups. You'll likely pay slightly more than you would to visit a regular vet, but the stress on your animals is minimal. No weird car rides, no weird smelling vet office. It's great. Now, if you want a really PC, by the book vet, Dr. Mullen probably isn't for you. This guy's a character! He has a cooky sense of humor and a huge heart. His love for animals is obvious. Reading through these reviews, some people have mentioned that he may say something off-color or something seemingly inappropriate, but this man has a very hard job. Imagine being an animal lover, and your job is to put down someone's best friend. One can tend to get a bit nervous or awkward in those situations. The important thing is - he's an amazing vet. He cares about you, your comfort, and your pets'. 100% - give this guy a call.

A quick review of my dog's info would have shown that I did not need more.

Still I'm gonna try. 1st when we first met with the staff they went over the whole process and walk us thru step by step on how it would go. 2nd the cost was a factor and they were so nice giving us all the info we needed to make the decision easier. 3rd THE DAY OF. They did such a great job of reassuring us the procedure would go fine. Then right after they contacted us with an update with what was done and how it went. 4th Today is the first day home and she is eating well and acting fine. The staff informed us there may be some hesitation in eating but she seems to be fine. We bought two small chickens and deboned them. And she has been getting small portions of that.
