Dr. Ashworth is definitely one of the most caring doctors I have ever dealt with. Aside from being…read morehighly qualified and professional, she was genuinely friendly and always made me feel that I was regarded as a unique individual - not as "just another patient". Whether I asked questions about treatments or mentioned my health problems, she always took the time to listen and respond with helpful information and suggestions. I am grateful that I had Dr. Ashworth's guidance and support throughout the long journey.

Dr Cox is great. Office staff are terrible. Called to make an appointment for MRI. Told us to…read morearrive 30 minutes prior. Called the same morning because text with different time was sent. Told us then that we would meet with the Dr, have MRI and then have a blood test all within an hour. Get there at the 11am appointment time and check in and then seated. An insurance person introduced herself in case you here are insurance problems. Waited about 30 minutes to see the Dr. who was very thorough. No MRI or blood test. Apparently don't do town there. Huh?? Told to check out and was told there that we needed to schedule an MRI at a 3rd party testing facility but they would need to get insurance clearance first and they would let us know when to schedule it. What??? Then we call to schedule the MRI at the 3rd party testing facility after getting a call that insurance had approved the test. Texas Oncology calls several hours later and tells us to make the appointment for an MRI. Apparently there are serious communication issues at this facility. Seriously question having this facility treat either of us since they don't appear to get the signals straight. We were impressed teased by Dr Cox or we wouldn't be going back.

Update 5/3/18 Texas…read moreOncology has really come around and done everything to make things right. I am now under the care of Dr Knowles who is amazing!!!! The office staff Patricia, Cassie and Dr Knowles nurse Lindsay have been amazing! Being diagnosed with cancer is tough and super scary but these ladies have been great and patient. The Business Manager Adrian started the ball rolling of making a not so good first impression become a team of people I trust. I was refused to be treated/seen in the office for Dr Eshed because we are self pay but have a medical share program through Liberty Health Share. I talked to corporate and they said that is not at all the policy. I was just diagnosed and quite scared. The gal who called me was so indifferent and rude. So disappointed in your group Update: the business office did get a hold of my feedback and one of their physicians is meeting with me Friday

Scheduling is a nightmare! It's been over a month and they can't get me scheduled when I have a…read morescary test result! The people who answer the scheduling phones say they can't schedule you because they don't have correct computer permissions and that a scheduler will have to call you back in 24-48 hours. If you ask them to leave you a voice message with your appointment date and time, when they call you back, they won't do it. They'll just hang up and not even leave you a message. Then you get to start the whole scheduling process over again, like you never called the first time and like they never screwed up, and this is regarding cancer, so we're all actively dying while waiting for an appointment. I highly recommend finding a different cancer clinic. This one is the worst!

After calling Dr Martinez's office with continued complaints her annoyed secretary relayed that I should take some Advil. After 4 more days of constant agony, Dr Martinez was finally able to see me. She walked in the room, kept her back to me and said "I hear you're experiencing some discomfort" to which I replied "I've never experienced more crippling agony in my life" she spent approximately 5 minutes with me, wrote me an script, advised me against going to the ER and sent me on my way. That night was the worst of my life. (Valentines day) I called again in the morning, the secretary took a message and never called me back. Finally I went to the ER where I was hospitalized all weekend and needed emergency surgery. The first doctor I saw said I looked like I had inflammatory breast cancer. My surgeon said you could fill a coffee cup with what came out of my breast. Dr Martinez clearly lacks compassion and bedside manner. It's evident that she's just checking off her days till retirement. I am traumatized after what I endured due to Dr Martinez's negligence.

My OBGYN recommended Dr. Martinez to me as the best breast surgeon in central Texas, after I…read moreself-examined, found a lump, and had a very worrying mammogram/ultrasound. I can't express my gratitude enough to him and to Dr. Martinez. She is very professional and businesslike, but also warm and patient and kind. Her office staff are BEYOND COMPARE when it comes to making you feel comfortable, welcome, even getting a laugh in here and there. She did an ultrasound in the office, and though she'd just done the biopsy, she told me she felt pretty sure it was malignant (which I appreciated because I wanted the straight story and I wanted to not be in suspense a moment longer. And she was right because she is that experienced and expert.) Although I was told that the biopsy of my lymph node might take two days to get results, her staff called me the NEXT DAY to let me know it was negative. Another big plus for me and a small sigh of relief. She guided me at every step, helped me with understanding the research, and when it came time to decide what to do, she didn't just lay out the options, she gave me wise advice and counsel... again, much appreciated. I wanted an expert to tell me what they would do if it were them... and the mass was sufficiently large in comparison to my B cup breast that she suggested I choose (if possible) a skin-nipple sparing mastectomy on that side, not a lumpectomy. That's what I opted for. Here's what you get with her-- she is SO skillful at what she does, that she was able to get me a clean margin and save the skin and nipple. How close were we??? ****.48 mm**** yes that's less than half of a millimeter. The difference between oops, sorry, we can't save the skin, you'll have to have so much other surgery to create a breast using your stomach or back skin and it will take months and never look anything like your breast.... and oops sorry, we saved the skin but there's a tiny bit of cancer still there so we have to do it again. She also recommended me to a wonderful, kind, skillful plastic surgeon (John Eggleston) and between the two of them I am.... grateful, and as happy as you can be having had a mastectomy. Today is my one year mammogram checkup, I've been on tamoxifen (no chemo, no radiation) all this last year, and I wanted to give a huge cheer for Dr M and her staff in case anyone else out there needed some insight on who to choose for the saving of their life.
