When I had our kids and they suddenly started toddling around, our dog got really scared and Sen helped me develop a plan to keep the dog and toddlers safe without having to rehome our dog. Now our kids are older and through using tips from Sen they have built trust with our dog, and I think that she is having just about the best life she can possibly have. After some bad experiences at other places and trying to trim her nails ourselves, we now drive 40 mins each way every other month to have Sen file/trim our dog's nails - and we wouldn't trust anyone else to treat her with such care and respect. Everyone we meet while waiting there also has nothing but praise for Mister Beever's team, and we have gotten to know several other members of the team who my children (big horse fans) have now come to admire and trust. I always recommend Sen to anyone looking for a dog behaviorist or trainer or anyone who is at the end of their rope with their dog or cat - he's just the best, and his team is amazing. I also want to mention that when we had a family medical emergency a few years ago I asked if we could board our dog with Sen & Alex. Our dog is safe and loved and actually calm & happy sometimes now, which is a miracle, AND I wouldn't leave her with most people because she is still a reactive traumatized chihuahua mix who doesn't do well with change. Sen & Alex didn't have space but said they would work with me to figure something out since they'd known us for so long and I was so panicked about figuring out details. We ended up not having to board her at the last minute, but I was so grateful that despite having PACKED schedules and lives they were willing to help me troubleshoot. Oh, and one more thing - Sen takes the BEST photos! This is our beloved pup - and Sen took this photo during a training session years ago. We've had moments of emergency needs and the team has bent over backwards to support the whole family through some tough moments. They've also been a second home to our doggo when her humans are out of town, and the pep in her step when she gets to run into the MBPC home is a testament to the dogs in their care. The humans who work here are big-hearted, and their thoughtfulness and love of what they do is matched by the high levels of expertise and the high standards they set for pet care. Is it possible to say enough about how great the whole team is? Probably not... but here are some highlights: Training: Sen worked with us on our dog's fear/anxiety response to other dogs when on leash -- mostly helping us understand how to change our behaviors to better support our doggo. The clarity, understanding, patience, and support Sen offered were hugely helpful to us all! Boarding/Day Care: What a joy to be able to leave our beloved doggo someplace where we never worry or wonder if she's ok. Does she come back exhausted and clearly well-socialized and well-taken care of? Hell yes. Do we get tons of glamour shots AND action shots of our doggo while she's with MBPC? Double hell yeah. Truly, their care is exceptional, as is their communication with the humans involved. Nails/Ears: Our dog loves her "spa days," even when she's a little fussy about her ear cleanings. It's never a real challenge for the MBPC team, and she loves to see the whole crew. If you're lucky enough to be in the MBPC family, you are truly in with the best. I emailed Courtney back in October for a consultation. They responded quickly with dates and times, I booked a consultation in 11/8/2019. When it came time to our appointment, we had to be rescheduled multiple times due to whatever issue Courtney had. We didn't think much at the time, but this should've been a HUGE red flag. We ended up seeing her on 11/16/2019. Following that, we paid $310 for 4 packs of 30 min lessons on 12/16/2019. We scheduled 4 lessons around the end of January to February. We had to reschedule our lessons due to their dog passing away and health reason (totally unfortunate situation). However, in February, they said they would refund our money once Courtney recovered. We waited until March before we contacted them due to her health reason. Courtney responded via text message once on 03/6/2020 and they responded once through email on 04/5/2020 about how refunds are being worked on. They never responded again. We've emailed & texted multiple times. I really didn't want to write this bad review about a small business, but it's really unfair to take our money, not provide sessions, tell us they'll refund us, and then disappear when it comes time for refunds. All we wanted was for our dog is build confidence and now we're left with nothing. We have been waiting since February 2020 for our refund and it is currently August 2020. I have slowly come to terms that they scammed us, but I want to prevent this situation from happening to someone else. I would give Courtney 0 stars if I could. Please take your business elsewhere, there are other trainers who are more reliable all over the bay area. Don't make the same mistake we did. Since then, Courtney has remained a consistent source of support in working with this highstrung but loving little guy, and most recently walked us through a pretty miraculous introduction between him and our newborn baby. Books the chihuahua is terrified of children and had barked and lunged at babies in the past, and I was so worried about bringing our daughter home to meet him and keeping them both safe and happy. Courtney coached us on how to prepare Books for having a baby in our pack, and gave us insight into how he might be feeling and thoughts he might have. When introduction day came, Courtney was there and walked us through the entire interaction. Books had some behaviors that worried me, but Courtney explained them and assured me they were normal. Before we knew it, he was licking baby's ears and feet! Thanks to that positive first encounter, he has accepted her as a pack member and wants to be near her all the time. He's still having anxiety about the change, and Courtney has been generous about texting with us and offering solutions that have worked (thundershirt and a lil' CBD tincture). I should also mention that Books was terrified of Courtney at first (as he is with most new people), and after training with her a few times, she became one of his favorite people and now he gets excited if he even sees her car in the neighborhood! Courtney was also very generous in advising a friend and I about a stray dog we rescued from a cemetery. The dog was terrified, and Courtney offered a lot of pro bono advice about separation anxiety and helping him relax, and eventually did a formal session with his foster mom. Courtney's help got him to relax enough to stay in a not-very-dog-friendly building until he was adopted. Thank you Courtney and Devoted Dog Training for helping our family be happy together!

She has a very soothing and kind voice and gentle approach with our dog. She has a key to our house and picks up our pup. Our cockapoo and maybe terrier rescue is almost a year old. We've had her for 4 months and she's still "in training". She adores Coleen. We all adore Coleen and her team! Coleen has special days where you can schedule spa treatments/grooming sessions for your pet. Another great service is when she picks up pet supplies for you and drops it off at your home. I boarded my 16 year old cat at Moe's for two weeks over Christmas and New Year's last year (took a…read morewhile to get around to writing this). Moe was fairly friendly and communicative at first, but when I arrived I was not allowed inside to see the set-up where my cat would be staying. I knew she wouldn't have a lot of space, but from the one blurry picture I received during her stay, she was sleeping and eating right next to her litter box in the small cage. When I picked her up, I found out that she had lost half a pound (and she was already underweight), and had an eye and upper respiratory infection that she probably picked up from another cat there which had to be treated with medication. She also smelled bad and had to be bathed right away. I brought a cat bed with her, which was in her cage, and when I picked her up there was uncleaned vomit on the bed. I would never take my cat here again. I don't think she properly received her medication every day either but that is just my suspicion. I am disappointment in the lack of care and concern for her health and the cleanliness of her environment. That being said, it is the cheapest boarding option I could find, and my cat is old and more susceptible to infections. A younger cat would probably be fine boarding here for a weekend maybe, but I wouldn't do any longer than that.
