We have been the luckiest to work with Jolie for the past 9 years. It is a big deal to trust someone to take your dogs out into the world for adventures, or stay in your home and care for your dogs when you're traveling. Jolie is the absolute best we've ever worked with and we trust her completely. She is professional, genuinely loves the pups, is an excellent communicator including daily updates and photos, and is always looking out for the dogs' well-being. To illustrate how amazing Jolie is: one of our dogs had severe anxiety when she was younger, and we searched high and low for a walker who would be a good fit for us. Jolie met us for training sessions before starting walks, was incredibly patient as we continued that training, thoughtfully chose locations for walks where triggers would not be present, and showed so much love and care for our dog. Jolie takes them to the beach and on hikes in state parks in the Berkeley/Oakland area. She sends to me and posts on Instagram photos of their outings, and sometimes I get a little jealous of my dogs' fun time! What sets Jolie apart from other dog walkers is that she incorporates positive reinforcement training in her walks. My pups are a little excitable and she worked with them so they don't bark when she arrives to our home. Generally, I've noticed that the dogs are a lot calmer and less reactive on our neighborhood, leashed walks since being R Positive clients. Jolie is also very caring and loving towards the dogs. About 4 months ago, my 12 year old dog went blind but is still active. Jolie did not seem phased that she would have a blind dog in her group. She has been incredibly patient with our blind pup and thoughtful about what the dog can and can't do now. I've used Jolie for daily dog walks and dog sitting at our home over a weekend. She sends regular updates and photos, and the dogs were relaxed when we got back after being away. Jolie is a fantastic dog walker!

Our dog Lupin joined the pack at around 8 months of age, as we were looking for a way for him to socialize with other dogs and get some exercise while we had work. He was shy and nervous around other dogs, but also curious. Over the year, with a few group walks a week, he has blossomed into a social pup, and loves to play with other dogs! He has improved his off leash skills and endurance for hiking. It has been an amazing transformation for him one year later! Kelsey was able to have Lupin stay with her over night too, as we both worked overnight occasionally. It was so comforting to know he was always in good hands. He was always safe and happy with her. About two or three weeks ago, they scheduled me for an initial assessment, where they would assess my dog and figure out the best place to put him. I told them my dog is very vocal but that is normal for his breed (hes a husky). The assessment went great, my dog did very well, and he stayed there for half a day. Additionally, I was told to get him the canine influenza vaccine, which I did. The week after, I scheduled him for doggy daycare to get him used to it. The visit went well. They told me that my dog did great. He was vocal at the beginning, but he settled in. I said great. Nothing else was said to the contrary. The week of my vacation, I check the portal. It said my dog was still on the boarding waitlist. I called to confirm that he would be boarded and checked to see if they saw his updated vaccine record. They placed me on hold for a while until the man who did the initial assessment came on. He informed me, much to my surprise, that since my dog is still anxious (he barks, which is his normal), they would not be able to board him until he has a few more visits. I am very disappointed at Metro Dog. I feel like my time and money were utterly wasted. I followed their protocol and got my dog used to this place, and they declined my boarding request at the last minute. I now have to scramble and see if I can find another boarder for vacation. I am also very disappointed at the lack of communication. If I had not called them to check, I would not have known that he was declined. I received no indication that he would not be able to board by Metro Dog. I wanted to love this place but I am so good on Metro Dog. I hope this review can help others and push this place to be more communicative, honest, and upfront with fellow clients and their fur babies.

I can't say enough good things about how much they have helped my dogs stay exercised, socialized, and balanced. I am very grateful for Junko's dedication and care of my dogs. All of my dogs have absolutely loved going out with the pack. After my two dogs passed away, we added our newest puppy during the shut-down and I was worried about how to socialize her properly. Junko helped by starting my 14 week-old on neighborhood walks with her own dogs and then progressed her to walking with the pack. I didn't hear from her by 3 PM so I called her and left her a message. I also emailed her. Now...two weeks later still no contact from her.
