I have been a regular customer at Paws Palace for almost four years now. However, my recent experience has left me with no choice but to find another groomer. I noticed that this once-fantastic place has become a groomer mill. During my last visit, I picked up my dog, Zoey, and noticed a small cut on her ear after paying for the service. I was a little annoyed because the groomer did not inform me of this. I felt they could have been more forthcoming and mentioned that Zoey had a small accident during her grooming. When I got home, the cut was still slightly bleeding, so I took Zoey to the vet. Unfortunately, the wound was deep enough to require 3 stitches. Although accidents can happen, I had previously informed the groomer that Zoey was a rescue dog and a bit skittish. I also mentioned that she was treat-motivated and would behave if handled with care and patience. This I remind the team constantly and always seem receptive to concerns and friendly, yet the stitches were the last straw, as in the past, Zoey's nails had been cut too short to the point where the wick was exposed....ok I though, that could be accident..I feel like a terrible dog dad and for giving Paws Palace another chance to prove me wrong, but sadly, it did not meet my expectations. I'm very disappointed. I had my dog groomed today. Picked her up at 11:30am. The temp outside was 85°. When I walk inside the building to pick her up, the temp inside the building had to be at least 100°. My dog was panting excessively all the way home. I had to cool her down when I got home. She 15.5 years old and didnt feel well the rest of the day. It's was inhumane to cage those dogs waiting to be groomed or waiting to be picked up in that heat. Needless to say, I'm sure the employees where struggling too. Shame on you Paws Palace. Next time reschedule your grooming appts if your A/C doesn't work. I have been to this place a couple times before and had no issue with how they groomed my dog. This last encounter was a total sh*t show to say the least. Not only did they shave my doodle down to practically nothing, they cut him in several areas too. Not to mention how choppy the cut was in the places they left any fur on him. They claim that I had asked for a summer cut in FEBRUARY! But even a summer cut on a doodle shouldn't look like this. My dog has not been his usual happy self since coming back from this place. I'm beyond pissed. I had to buy my dog a sherpa jacket because he's been shivering with all his fur gone. The best they said they can do is refund me 50%. I have a 6-month old chiweenie (cue 'Awwwwwww') and I wanted to get his nails trimmed & ears cleaned. After scouring reviews on good 'ol Yelp - I came across this place which is soooo close to where we live. Their website is really helpful - it has information that could help with your visit. Since my pup has short hair - I opted for the 'Bath and Brush' service which includes a bath, fully dry, ear cleaning, nails trimmed, and filed. You can make an appointment through their website - once you make an appointment, you will get a confirmation text that you are on the schedule. The day before your appointment, you will get another text to further confirm that the appointment time still works with you. There is limited street parking along the busy street but I found parking behind the building. As soon as I walked through the door, we were greeted by a really friendly lady (owner, I assume) who took my pup to the back right away and was asked to fill out an information form (nothing out of the ordinary) --- after that, they told me about an hour/hour and a half & they would call as soon as my pup was all done. An hour & a half later.... I received both a call and text as soon as my pup was ready. As soon as I got there, they were bringing him out. Overall, an awesome experience for my 6-month old puppy's first time at the groomers. I would recommend! read more

I have brought my dog here a few times, and have even recommended this business to my sister, but am now regretting that after the terrible experience we had today. Not only was their customer service terrible, but worst of all they cut up my poor puppies belly. Here is the issue with customer service. We dropped our pup off at her 4pm appointment time, my fiancé and I both being a little confused since we see that they close at 4:30pm. By 6pm we called to see if she was almost done, and no answer. We figured maybe they had a few later appointments so continued to wait by the phone ready to pick her up. Finally around 7:15 we receive a phone call from a disgruntled employee telling us that he has been trying to call us multiple times. We told him we haven't received any calls, but would be there in less than 10 minutes. I walked into to pick up my pup and immediately apologized and asked if maybe he had called the wrong number since we didn't receive any calls, and even attempted to show him our call log just to see if we could figure out what happened. He was EXTREMELY RUDE and unprofessional. He just kept telling me he was calling and that I needed to change the number in their log, which makes absolutely no sense since we had received the one phone call. He would not listen to me, even while I was still apologizing and kept muttering to his dog that "we all have to go home at some point". I had already tipped 20% prior to hearing this, and now I regret it. Also be aware that they charge you for paying with a credit card, but definitely don't inform you of that. This groomer is the reason I will no longer take my dog here and will ensure that my sister does not either. His lack of professionalism is unacceptable and it looks like this isn't the first time he has behaved this way or spoken to someone in this manner. read more

I have never encountered any problem until today when I was treated like a stupid person and I felt diminished as a person. That was a very frustrating feeling. It started when I dropped my dog, agter I texted the picture of how I wanted the cut to be, I wanted to confirm that he understood it, I xas about to ask for the short hair.. the employee just interrupted me and didn't want to listen to me. He just said that he will look at it afterwards and not now. I didn't think much of it but felt a bit annoyed but didn't say anything and remained polite. When I came back to pick up my dog, what I experienced was an example of poor customer service where the client has to shut up and just take it or leave it. The groomer had an attitude. When I asked about the price not being the same that he mentioned, he asked me back if I read the paper on the counter about the extra 3 or 4% automatically added to the bill. I was asking a question and the way he replied to me was disrespectful and condescending. So if I haven't read it yet, he could have been polite and not being rude. I work as a customer service manager and this is a shame and extremely poor customer service. No empathy to customers. Please train your employees better. This is the least an employee can do. He gave me back my dog without his harness and lead. I asked about it and he brought back a few of them and none of them belonged to my dog. I told him about the color and he brought it. Then asked me if it was the collar my dog had around his neck was his collar too. Well, he should have known if he was doing his job properly. As for the rendered service, I sent a picture over asking for a summer cut but my dog came out with still long hair and not what I asked for. I felt so frustrated about the way he treated me that I didn't want to ask about the long hair. I called back twice to talk to the owner and only got a voicemail. It was a very disappointing experience. Why would I want to return here to be treated like crap while I was polite? I should have given no tips at all. I took my labradoodle to the this groomers last minute since I desperately needed him to be groomed. My total came out to $145!!! I was not informed that they charge 4% if you use a credit card. If they have told me since the beginning I would've used my debit card. I asked why it was $145 when originally he told me $140, this was after he already swiped my card. They charge $145 because there was a long of mattes and they had to brush it out. I usually take my pup to a different groomer but they had a 2 months wait and I didn't want to wait that long. My dog's ears and face were too long and it was not the picture that I had shown them. Very disappointed... I will not be coming back, I'll just go to my usual groomers that I trust. I love this company. They are so friendly as soon as you walk in the door. I have a standard bernedoodle, so they have the standard doodle cut, and paws palace has done the best job out of anywhere we have brought our pup. Our pup got so many compliments on her hair cut! My sister, who is normally picky, loved our dogs cut so much so that she brought her cockapoo! Of course they did a wonderful job on her pup too. The staff was friendly however I would not recommend this place for a Pomeranian Breeds.. They brushed my dog dry before shampoo and conditioning so he lost more than half of his fluffy fur and now looks more like a stray dog than a show dog now... They butchered his beautiful hair by cutting a big chunk of it off instead of detangling the small matting he had so he looks uneven. **** I specifically told them not to cut his hair more than 1 inch when I dropped him off. *** But they cut 3 inches long and 3 inch diameter section off! I wish they called me to ask me if it's okay to cut so much hair off before they did it. I would have detangled the matting myself! Now it will take years for his hair to grow back or it may never grow back the same. I am very upset and disappointed. Only compliment I can give is they clipped and filed his nails and detangled his matting...but he shouldn't have lost so much underlining hair in the process. I asked for an outline cut which makes his body more round and fluffy but his overall hair looks butchered and very uneven. I feel upset looking at my dog every day because he lost his beautiful fluffy fur...Sorry but I will not return to this place and have expressed my upset feelings with the the intake groomer and the other groomer who cut his hair. I had a pretty negative experience here. I tried to call and speak with the owner versus leaving a review, but I did not hear back. I brought my dog and cat here (cat for a sanitary trim and dog for a shampoo), a few things happened: - When I came to pick up my animals, the person there told me that it never happens but when clipping the cat's nails, the cat's paw was snipped and it was bleeding. They offered giving me "$5 off" for it, which if course felt not significant enough. - When getting home with my cat, he had tons of knots still in the area he was getting trimmed. So I am not sure what they did. - With my dog, she had a few spots of matted hair? Which was very confusing given she was supposed to get a full shampoo service. - They did not put the animals' collars back on so we had to get new ones when we got home and realized they did not have them. This is the second time. First time, my little Yorkie came out looking a mess, hair choppy and the other shaved, I did not recognize my babies when I picked them up. It was weird, my pets does not seem like their happy self after each grooming session. I brought my 10 year-old Persian cat here for a shave (or "Lion Cut!") to help him with the heat in the summer (he was groomed back in July). Paws Palace did a great job! I was able to get a next-day appointment when I called. He's been groomed a few times in his life, and so I knew I needed to be clear about any special instructions. My boy cat has very sensitive man nipples that get easily irritated by clippers - they've gotten infected on two separate occasions at different groomers. So I indicated that he was sensitive and to be careful with his undercarriage. If you are new to having your pet groomed: know that a pet grooming appointment is like a hair appointment - the clearer you are, the better it will turn out. Sometimes it takes a go or two until you know what is right for your pet. I dropped the cat off in the morning and received a call about 3 hours later that he was finished. He was clean and clipped! And his belly was groomed with no nicks or abrasions to his nipples (yay!). I was surprised to find he was given a tiny red bandana. He looked like an idiot. Hilarious. The one negative was that they used some kind of powder or something on him (smelled baby powder-ish) that lasted for a few days. Our other cat reacted very negatively to it, and I didn't much care for it myself. Parking is around back - I haven't had a problem. Shop was clean, prices very reasonable. I plan to make my gentleman cat another appointment soon! read more
