Really great store for all of your pets needs! The staff is great and SO helpful. They have so many options and make choosing much easier - coming from a very indecisive person. Love this store so much! Side note: They have a sweet resident kitty and other kittens for sale. Love a local pet store that supports rescues! read more

I really loved this place but recently there's a young store clerk there that is so obnoxious it's hard to shop in peace. He hovers over you and literally will not give you any space. He also argued with my mom about treats she wanted which was bizarre? I don't know, we're pretty laid back but been thinking about going elsewhere recently read more

* Paws on the Avenue does NOT value their loyal customers * I've been a regular customer at Paws on the Avenue for over a year and everyone knows me and my dog there. The prices are quite high in general for most things they sell, but I still shop there often to get some treats for my dog after we play at the beach, since it's the nearest pet store. I work hard for my money, but still love to spoil my dog, and have spent probably $1,000+ at this store. A few weeks ago, I bought a red leather collar from them for around $37. It was the cheapest red leather collar they had that would fit my medium sized dog, and I actually preferred the look of it to the more expensive one. Even though it was still a quite expensive collar at almost $40, I bought it. Originally, for the first day it looked really good on my dog --That didn't last long though. After about a day I noticed that some of the red color was bleeding onto my dog's fur, staining her fur red. I brushed it off, understanding that sometimes a little bit of dye from leather could do that. The next day, I was jogging with my dog when it started VERY LIGHTLY raining. I wasn't worried since I've had many leather collars in the past and a little bit of rain doesn't generally do much. Once we got home, I laid my dog's red leather collar out to dry, and once it was fully dried, the leather was starting to deform and shrivel. It didn't look half as good as it did a day ago. Just from a little bit of light rain that didn't even soak the entire collar --Mind you, I've had collars at this price that have been soaked in water 100 times and still hold nearly perfect form. For the following weeks, the collar continued to CONSISTENTLY bleed color onto my dogs neck, making her whole neck area pink/red. The collar also lost all of its vibrancy, from being a nice bright red, to a very dark, dull red. The collar continued to deform, especially around the area where the leather rubs against the buckle. Also, any bit of water hitting the collar would make it shrivel up and deform even more. After the two week mark, this collar looked severely used and my dog doesn't even wear it anymore since it continues to leach color onto her fur. I went to ask for a return, or at least some store credit or something --Mind you, I have spent easily $1,000 at this store and have never once asked to refund anything other than this $40 collar. The two people working, who know me as a regular, told me that I could not return it because it was not in sellable condition, and one of the guys, I believe the manager, tried to explain to me how leather works and tried to convince me that this was normal. Just the way they both were talking to me, it was very dismissive, like they were talking down to me. They were talking to me like I had ruined the collar and was trying to return it! I'm a really nice guy, but this was really frustrating me. The other guy working there also told me that this collar was chewed on, which it absolutely wasn't. It was just deformed THAT BADLY from my dog wearing it and a TINY BIT OF WATER getting on it maybe 2 times. And I only had the collar for around 3 weeks! Like I said, I have had MANY leather collars for my dogs in the past, and they all have lasted significantly longer. Some have lasted years! At the same price! This collar looks horrible. I did not misuse this collar in any way, my dog simply wore it like every other collar. Even though I am a very good paying regular customer, they have chosen to not give me a refund or even store credit for this, quite frankly, absolute shit quality collar. read more

I would not recommend this store. Their prices are significantly higher than other pet stores, and the customer service was disappointing. When I purchased a dog crate, the store associate explicitly told me I had **72 hours** to return it for a refund if it didn't work out. Unfortunately, the crate wasn't the right fit for my dog, so I brought it back within that timeframe. That's when I was told they only offer **store credit**, not refunds. If the policy was truly store credit only, why would an employee tell me I had 72 hours for a refund? I would never have purchased the crate had I known that. The information I was given at the time of purchase was misleading. Save yourself the frustration and shop at Jake's Pet Supply instead. Their prices are better, and their customer service is far superior. read more

An amazing little mom and pop shop. Full of good things for dogs and cats. From toys and healthier treats, to healthy foods, made with as little extra processing. People are super friendly. Prices, for the brands that they carry, are reasonable. Lots of sales and discounts through Clover, too. read more

Great place in Lake Worth. Wonderful owners! So many great things for our 4 footed friends! Definitely check this place out!

Great local pet store. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Lots of pet food and supplies.

wonderful local shop with attentive and knowledgeable staff. All my pups get their id tags, treats, and toys there!

Great pet store conveniently located on Lake Ave. they always have what I need for my baby girl.

I live about 20 minutes away from downtown LW but we love coming for breakfast here and the day I came in my husband decided to go for a haircut so I was shopping. The man immediately came up and said hello and asked if I needed help. I explained I was only looking. I just recently got a puppy and bought a bunch of stuff and one item I paid $13.99 for just the day before was $16.99 here. There was a couple other things I just recently bought that each item was higher priced here. The $3 difference was the largest difference. They had way too many political items in here. I think politics and business should remain separate. The politics coupled with everything being priced higher than other places means I wont be back. Advice : Remove political stickers and dog toys. Keep it politic free. We have enough of that in our every day life. read more

Kind and knowledgeable staff!! They have a wide variety of products for all your kitty and dogs needs.

me encanta esta tienda son siempre muy amables y mis perros les encanta sus productos naturales y seguros para tener mascotas felices

I love a locally owned business and this is a great one catering to your beloved four footed family members. This Lake Ave staple turned 20 last year. Paws on the Avenue is for the pet owner who wants to take better care of their pet. They stock higher quality products at lower prices. They carry everything you need from food bowls, bakery treats, collars, harnesses, and toys. They even carry items for pet lovers like greeting cards and tee shirts. A reason to pick this store over the big chain stores is that in addition to products, owner Carolyn Clore also offers services like pet adoption and training classes. She films informational videos so you can be a better pet owner. At this store you can get personalized advice regarding what is best for your pet from a trusted source. They even have a chip scanner so you can bring a lost pet in to have it scanned. I love supporting small businesses like this where you can get real help and advice. Your pet will be happier and healthier and you will be keeping your money in the community. read more

This is a great local pet store. I buy all my dog food from them and they always give me great advice. If Eddie is around he is a wealth of helpful advice. They do have a reward system that counts bags of dog food purchased which goes toward a free bag. They also use Clover which earns additional discounts. They offer free delivery for people who are spread too thin on time. Why support big box pet stores, support local. read more

POTA was ok. I was looking to support a local dog supply store that had baked goods for our pups birthday. They certainly have a large selection of what seemed like fresh bake goods. It wasn't the friendliest interaction I've ever had in a retail shopping experience. read more

I've been buying the same brand and flavor of cat food for awhile and recently the recipe changed so when I went to feed the new bag to my cat he refused to eat it. It's a $26 dollar bag of cat food so it's absolutely absurd that I cannot get an exchange to another flavor espiecially when I can get the same cat food and any big box store for $5 dollars less but chose to "support a small buisness". I know that I can get a refund or exchange at other stores so I will not be coming back here and I urge you not to come here if your animal is a picky eater, because now my cat hasn't eaten in 2 days and they refuse to and I've lost out on $26 dollars. read more

For the last year I have been buying all of my pets food and toys here but my last experience here has forever changed that. A couple weeks ago I went in like normal and the the staff was the rudest I've ever seen. Demanding me to move out of the way and down right just condescending when answering my questions. I will not be going back and good luck to anyone that does go. I left there sad that I've been giving them my money for the last year.. read more

Cant say enough good things about this place. I had an issue with my ragdoll kitten for the first year of her life having terrible diarrhea and digestive issues daily. We tried EVERYTHING. Multiple vet visits with no resolution. Randomly walked into this pet store and got to talking with the manager about our issue. He recommended N&D lamb formula and ALL OUR PROBLEMS WERE SOLVED!! He gave generous samples and expected nothing in return. Amazing service and they truly care about your pet. read more

Gah, I'm a sucker for anything related to mans best friend, especially boutique stores. They have basically any kind of squeaky toy known to man along with treats, food (organic too, holla!) accessories for the pups. They even have some cat stuff too which threw me off a bit but hey, nothing wrong with love for all animals right? Enter in that they have fresh baked dog treats in the shape of martinis, flamingos calzones and yeah, this place has my heart! PS-If you go in, they have a number of coupons for the other businesses along Lake Ave! read more

My wife and I are staying nearby and stopped in to pick up some treats and other items for our dog. The two young ladies were very helpful and exceptionally kind. We purchased our items and when we got out to the car, we noticed that the bill was unusually excessive as we buy these branded products all the time- must have been a mistake we thought. Drove around the block, went back in to return what we knew was an overpriced item. One of the kind young women had been replaced by a surly unfriendly old lady who refused to refund the money for the item and offered me a store credit which I refused. When we got back to the apartment we did some research online and no surprise, all the items we purchased are available at much lower prices from other retailers so a store credit for presumably more overpriced goods is not a solution. If buyer beware, we will be overcharging the customer is your store policy, perhaps you should post a sign stating so. My wife and I try to support local businesses when we can are willing to pay a bit more but asking customers to pay over 60% more is just wrong. Keep your money from this purchase lady because with such a horrible attitude, no understanding of customer service and epic overpricing, your going to need it. Reading some of the other reviews, it seems this lady needs an attitude adjustment, a new job or better yet, just retire !!!! read more

I have exclusively shopped at Paws since 2009. Caroline, the owner denied me a sample bag of food, while one of her employees was putting a $55 purchase of a 30lb bag of food into my car. As a loyal customer, I was outraged! I said I would be back for free samples. Caroline instructed her employees to not give me sample bags of food! Although I like to support my local businesses, I am now driving to "Wet Kisses" on Lantana and Jog to support Susan and buy my specialty high grade food there, from a dog trainer who knows her products. She loads me up with free samples that dog food companies supply. It's inconvenient but worth it. I was telling some folks in LW about my experience and one of my friends said they had been "boycotting" the biat(ch). read more

Their very knowledgeable staff (Eddie)? spent the extra 5 minutes explaining what products were best for my dogs. I shared a poor past experience I had with a large competitor and he just laughed and said "we don't do that here, we care about our customers". My GSD's LOVE the new healthier food we're trying and I think some of their allergic reactions to other "healthy" brands are slowing down (day 4). The prices although a little higher than the big chain stores or online are definitely justified through great personalized customer and "pupstomer" service !! read more

Whoa the owner is horrible, and they are way over priced! I came to them with a rescued pet situation and mistakenly went to them as my local pet store, instead of petco, they marked up their seresto flea collar $10 more than other places, I bought it to support their business...however as soon as I walked out the door the pet got adopted!!! So 30 minutes later I begged to refund it - I was actually crying because I can't afford $75 (I live in lake worth duh) - not only did they say no - the owner was horrible and literally said "we didn't force you to buy it" whhhhaaaat????? Never again!!!! This store is for people who need strollers and costumes for their dog, not people who are poor and trying to help animals lol...anyone need an overpriced flea collar that you can get $15 cheaper anywhere else! I no longer have a pet I'll sell it for $60 read more

Very disappointed with this place as a result of the owners dishonesty and product knowledge. She states on her description that the store is place to find natural and holistic products, but twice I'v found products made in China! Caroline, the owner told me she doesn't sell ANYTHING made in China! When items are shipped to America in containers from China, the Chinese spray the whole inside of the container and all the products in it with Formaldehyde and Pesticides, so no bugs or creatures get inside. Guess what, it gets inside your animal by digestion, when you buy it and give it to your pet to eat or chew! Carol only thinks about her bottom line, $$$$, and not about your pet! She is very unprofessional when asked about products, and displays poor behavior when approached about it. Not a trusting feeling shopping here, especially when it comes to my pets well being! read more
