If i could give more then 5 stars I would... Babette is one of a kind. You will NOT find another trainer that is in the same league... After picking out our Goldendoodle, we had to find a trainer. Babette wowed me from the first phone call I made to her. I visited other classes and spoke to other trainers. I went to classes to scope out the techniques that these trainers used, but there was one main difference between Babette and the rest... She had a guarantee. If your pup didn't pass the test at the end of class you can come back and take it again. When I asked others if they did this, their response was, "It is your responsibility to keep up the training." Basically NO! Babette is confident, friendly, and our puppy gets so excited when he sees her. She really has a way with dogs and people. She came over the day after we got our new puppy to help us instill good behavior from day one. This has really been and enjoyable process. If we are in the vets office, in our elevator, at the park, or just walking down the street, people can't believe our 15 week old puppy is so well behaved! Our response, we owe it all to Babette Haggerty. We sent our puppy to Babette for boot camp. Babette would not settle for meritocracy. She wanted our puppy to be as good as he could be even it if took an extra day or two over her time! She is a family oriented person and can't say enough about how wonderful our experience has been with her. I hired Babette specifically for aggression and dogs peeing in the house. I paid for an intro session and another $4050 for training. She showed up and did leash walking on day 1 and 2 -- I asked for a list of what we were ot cover and was not provided one. When I asked about the 2 items I hired her for, she told me to 'diaper them; and 'get a bark collar'. Then on visit 3 she cancelled one hour prior with NO MAKE up. I asked for a refund and she only gave me a partial refund, she charged $2000 for 3 hours of her time and did not provide what I asked or hired her for. Overpriced for what I got... 3 hours of how to walk a dog on a leash. I could have googled what she taught me. read more

Wonderful adventure for Zorro an me. Great staff who keep you informed daily, and they have a pleasant attitude also. Even though covid-19 interfered with their regular life , they were able to get the job done. My only problem was/ is ME. Zorro pushes all my buttons,knowingly! LOL. I will be using the extra sessions more for myself. However, pulling isn't an issue anymore, unless a motorcycle comes by. Even Lassie chased them,so I'll hold tight. I began speaking with Babette who owns the facility as she advised me to get a Labrador Retreiver from Debby Kay at Chilebrook Labs in Harpers Ferry West Virginia who specifically breeds super sniffing pups for prospect service dogs...Babette had mentioned that her daughter Sarah was an aspiring service dog trainer and would love to get my puppy trained at no cost..After speaking with Sarah I knew we would be a perfect fit to start working together for the next year to get my puppy trained..Sarah is a well spoken, professional and passionate trainer who is quite literally following in her mother's footsteps to continue to work with dogs and also works with show horses at a farm is also something she had mentioned. Babette and her team are fantastic! We have a 6 year-old Great Pyrenees mix (Maggie) who, after our son was born, became very protective and would show aggression towards other dogs. Given her size (85lbs) this made walking her especially difficult. After working with Babette for 3 weeks, Maggie was a different dog! Now Maggie will ignore other dogs when we walk and is much more responsive when we call or give corrections. Most importantly, Babette and her team also made sure to train us, so we can continue to work with Maggie. Most importantly, when you walk into Haggerty, you can instantly tell that everyone there loves what they do. Haggerty Dog Training really IS as good as it gets! The owner and staff are amazing, the facility is clean and pleasant with tons of rooms for the dogs to run and play. Our puppy did the training program which gave me a break during the day and gave him the opportunity to learn all of the basic obedience skills in a warm and caring environment. What I like best of all is that the training is not "food based". The dogs learned commands along with hand signals and obey because they have been encouraged to, rather than because they want a treat! I don't want to walk around my dog's whole life with a pocket full of treats. We are customers for life! read more

I have an adorable puppy that needed training. I did countless research and read numerous reviews about a "supposedly amazing trainer" named Babette. So I thought it was a good idea to send my puppy there to be trained. He stayed with her for three weeks. While my puppy was being trained I called numerous times to check in on him. I even asked if I could visit him and she wouldn't let me. When I asked if I could watch from afar just to check in on him, she wouldn't allow it. She mentioned that it could possibly hinder his progress if he saw me. So I continued to call and check in on him. Every time we spoke she assured me that everything was fine and that he was doing great. After I received my puppy I now know why she made it difficult for me to visit. I had to pick my puppy up from the EMERGENCY ROOM!!! Babette cut him in several different spots and he has over 15 stitches on his body. It was very obvious he wasn't properly feed or groomed. I picked up a scared and fragile puppy. When I asked what happened, she said that he got cut during grooming. The next day I immediately took him to my vet who agreed that he was mistreated. I don't understand how a "dog trainer" someone who you trust, thinks it's okay for an owner to pick up their puppy from the ER. I now have an UNTRAINED PUPPY with PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL bruises. It was all such a pleasurable experience until tonight. I have no complaints about the trainer what - so - ever. Red head - very nice lady. Group training simply wasn't working for my dog so I kindly asked the trainer to step aside and ask for advice (just like everyone else in the class) she offered private. Suddenly, this woman who I have been nothing but kind and nice to chimes in and starts screaming at me for wasting her time with the trainer ? Meanwhile she asks the trainer for advice equally as well during our session ? Hello ! You're in a GROUP CLASS ! Pay more $ if you want private time ! she starts yelling at me how I'm wasting her time and $ and being disrespectful while she's asking if her dog will get along with a cat (lmfao) google it. I really didn't know what could be done with my 9 yr old defiant Yorkie. He would sneak when the door was open and not listen to me. I needed help badly. Haggerty Dog Training did wonders with him. We had such a great experience with our dog at Haggerty Dog Training that I recommend it to everyone. Our dog Tetley loved the classes, and all the trainers. She went from a jumpy, nipping, over-excited dog to one that will heel, sit/stay, "go to bed", and more in just a few weeks. I was looking for a couple of private training sessions to work on a very specific issue with my dog so I called this place. They asked me to come over for a "dog evaluation" for which they charged me $25 which was pretty much the owner trying to sell me their "all-day-every-day program" because "anything the dog trainer would work on with my dog during the training session would have to be reinforced every day so unless I have free time otherwise they can't guarantee results". BTW, the place has no outdoor area, the indoor area is very small with quite a few dog carriers which I have never seen in any doggie day-care center. read more

I had a great experience with Babette and all the trainers are her facility. Our first training session, my dog wouldn't stop barking. I had had the same problem with her at puppy kindergarten. Babette asked me to bring her in early for the next lesson so she could work with both of us one on one. When I got there Babette was having dinner but immediately let me in and worked with us while finishing her dinner. We did this again before the next group lesson. By the time we graduated, my dog was listening and doing everything I asked of her. My past dog training experiences were all food based rewards. I really don't like this type of training as you always have to have treats with you for your dog to obey. Babette works with praise rewards. I found that so much better as now, my dog just needs praise to do what's asked of her. She listens to me, comes when called and walks by my side, on and off leash. I owe this all to Babette. Everyone in my class loved their sessions and saw improvements in their dogs. No one dropped out and most planned to take further instruction from Babette, as do I. read more

Babette was a terrible trainer. We gave her our dog to train for several weeks. When we went to pick him up, she was at an animal hospital with him. She had cut him in two places. He lost weight when he was with her. She did not train him, she traumatized him. We sued her in small claims court and we won. read more

I attended 3 of Babette's group training classes with my 1 year old Boxer. During the second class my dog and another dog got into a fight, no biting just grabbing and growling...because my dog was a lot bigger then the other day she automatically assumed it was his fault, jumped in the middle of the fight and dragged my dog across the room yelling and choking him with the choke collar. She proceed to put him in "time out" by keeping him at her side and pulling on the choke collar whenever he budged. I was mortified and so was everybody in the place. After that day she told me my dog could not be by any of the other dogs and that I would have to take the remaining classes on the "other side of the fence"....I went to one more class but it was not worth it since I could barely hear what she was saying since we were "on the other side of the fence"..safe to say I never returned and did not get my money back. Waste of money and her method of training a dog is just choking your dog with a collar to correct them. read more

I absolutely love Babette's personality and training style! When I rescued my 6 month old Rottweiler she was out of control and didn't even know how to sit. Babette taught me how to work with Bella and to be confident in myself when training her. Now Bella is a dream dog and listens to everything I say. I cannot thank Babette and her team enough for everything they've taught me and my dog! Riggs is a GIANT 70 lb puppy who was once absolutely out of control. I made the mistake of hiring a local trainer who told me that he wasn't made to be a companion and that he belonged on a farm (to give you an idea of just how crazy he was). After attending bootcamp with Babette, Riggs is a completely different dog. He walks perfectly on a leash, doesn't jump on anyone, automatically sits to heal, but most importantly he now knows how to calm himself down and RELAX. Before bootcamp I had tried anything and everything to get him to lay quietly like a normal dog (endless stuffed kongs, new bones, HOURS of exercise) and NONE of it worked - now I can tell him to lay down and he'll stay quietly without needing reinforcement. If you're thinking about hiring a trainer, chances are you were having the same issues I was, and Babette is without a doubt the right choice to make so don't waste your time or money elsewhere! I used to find myself apologizing to so many strangers for Riggs' bad behavior and now I receive compliments all the time at how well-behaved he is - my neighbors even refer to him as Riggs 2.0 - thank you Babette!! read more

I took my dog for to her basic dog obedience course and after the third class I was so disappointed that I asked to withdrawal from the class and asked for a refund. I do have to say that after some of us complained about her attention in the class she started improving her own behavior. She has the capacity to improve and so I wish her luck, but even if she didn't pass my dog (she passes every dog even when they shouldn't pass) I would not have taken the class over with her again. read more

The dog that I babysit from time to time came back after being at Haggerty training for three weeks skin and bones. I literally could lift up his skin 3-4 inches. He was scared at very little sounds when before he slept through fire works. He was constantly licking his paws and had abrasions on his elbows which is so unusual for him as he is beyond cared for. For a training facility I can not see an ounce of difference in his demeanor or skill level. This is deeply upsetting as I look after him as if he were my own child. read more

This is an amazing place to bring your dog to be trained. I am a brand new dog owner - it's actually my first pet ever. After wasting money on a 6 week petco training class where my dog learned nothing. I decided to attend a dog socialization class with Babette and the other trainers at the center. I was so impressed with the time and care that they spent with each person there and gave great advice on training struggles. I decided to spend the money on the 3 week day school program for my Maltipoo. I specifically called Babette and asked her about the bad reviews online and she explained the situation regarding the one instance with Mike Ruiz that seems to be posted over and over. His review couldn't be further from the truth. My puppy loves going there in the mornings as well as all the other dogs being trained in the school. Her group class for basic obedience helped my puppy become a well trained companion. I highly recommend Babette and her staff. They are all so friendly and caring about each and every dog. read more

I have had many dogs and experience with many dog trainers. By far Babette has been the best I have worked with in the many years I have had dogs and been in training. Even from the first phone call she stood out above the rest of the people I spoke to. She took plenty of time to explain her methods as well as her experience. I found her to be very modest about her impressive list of clientele and references. I worked with her to house train my dog and to train my dog as a pet therapy dog. I have never been so impressed with a trainer before. She also takes a very caring approach with dogs as she never used excessive force or harsh methods. My dog stayed with her for 2 1/2 weeks which of course made me nervous at first but once I met her in person I knew he was in good hands. She encouraged me to contact her to find out how he was doing and provided me with frequent unsolicited updates. She volunteered for me to see where she was training him and was always open to questions. Most importantly, I saw how much my dog liked her when she brought him home to me and how excited he was to see her when she would return for follow up lessons. He never appeared afraid he only appeared to have a lot of respect for Babette just as I do. Babette even spent time with my children teaching them some basic commands. I have never been so impressed with a dog trainers level of dedication and professionalism as I have been and continue to be with Babette. I would never use anyone else and only recommend her to friends and colleagues. I feel proud to say that my dog has been trained by Babette. read more
