Brandon was able to take Penny back and trim them right then. She's a very anxious girl, but she never even whimpered or barked as he took firm control and lovingly held her through the procedure. She came out with her curly tail wagging, accepted a treat, and pranced down the street! Paws In Paradise is exactly what we were hoping to find, a small business that truly cares about every dog. I was going to give a good rating, I had been with Paws for years, when Jane was owner. Then Jill took over. I took my babe in to be groomed and when I went to pick him up and pay the price was doubled. I was not informed of the increase at any time. I was told there was a notice about the increase, it was about the size of a business card, very hard to see. needles to say I will not be returning there again. Now I must fine another groomer that I can trust with my 18 yr old babe. read more

I have to say that I was shocked by the fact that I was taken advantage of by the employees, from what I understood my fiancé had an agreement with the owner that our golden doodles would be charged $100 each for their services plus tip, I was charged $50 more than said agreement. I was trying to surprise my fiancé by paying for the services for her birthday, which is on Sunday. Not only has the company raised their prices four times within the last year, but then when she went to pick up our dogs, bourbon and whiskey, she was then charged an extra fee. I am a general manager of a business, and this is poor to disgraceful business practice. I do understand the cost of inflation with products and so forth, but the fact that I was misled and charged more than extra than what was expected to be, is disgusting to me, I was taking advantage of, and again that is poor business. read more

I have a long haired Chihuahua & Paws in Pardise is the only place that knows how to 00 it in the park park trim her. Everywhere else gives her a crew cut. They treat all the animals with tender love and care. read more

Great service, nice location, did a great job with my puppies. I called several other groomers before them and they were the only ones that took the initiative to call me back and to schedule me in a reasonable time. Besides the very first time I used this groomer since the new owner, the grooming has been good. My reason for the 1 star is for the dishonesty and poor business management. In just over a year my grooming prices have gone up 4 times for the same 2 dogs. I spoke to Jill about it each time and expressed my disappointment in the fact that I wasn't told before the service. On the 3rd raise I told Jill that I absolutely could not go over the $100 + 20% tip mark for each dog. She agreed to that price and for the last 6 months that's what I paid. This week my fiancé took the dogs and paid for it as a surprise. They charged him $50 more than the agreed price, didn't tell him in advance, and when I came to pick them up, they charged me and extra $40 dematting fee. I understand inflation and that they choose to raise their prices (4x in a year) but they don't tell you up front and don't give you a choice to make that decision. My best friend and a few people in my neighborhood have left them for the same reason. They moved their grooming services to Slaty Dog, who is not cheaper but they are upfront with their customers. read more

I've tried a few other groomers in the area, and none compare to the ladies at Paws in Paradise. They always do a great job on my 3 shih tzus, and even make special accommodations for my blind one, setting his appointments later in the day so that he doesn't get freaked out by lots of traffic in the shop. Buckwheat is a 6 month old puppy who hates nail trims, baths and blow dries, so it's a chore to do it at home! I took him here to get a wash/blow and a nail trim. I was able to call and get an appt the same day with Madison who treated him like he was her own! It's very clean and homey, the staff is friendly, and the prices are fair. They call you super quick to tell you they're done! He came back smelling delectable, and he was visibly happy and wiggly when I came back to get him! Highly recommend this spot for a squeaky clean, happy pup. read more

They welcomed us with big smiles, from the moment We walked in We had a good vibe. Madison did an amazing job with our dog and it took her under 2.5 hours. Loved this groomer!! She and her staff did an excellent job on my German Shepard (GS) mix and yellow lab mix. I was particularly impressed with their service on their nails!! Paws in Paradise offers clipping and grinding nails. My dogs smelled so good when I picked them up, their coats were soft and shiney, they didn't scratch themselves much (which told me they were rinsed well), and the GS's coat had been brushed out very well. She was also dry! They both recieved nice bandanas that had serged edges, too. So, the fabric doesn't fray and they still wear them after 2 weeks. I was just super impressed with the results! Very happy I stumbled upon them on Lake Ave. :) One last thing, they do offer self service bathing. Meaning, you can bring your dogs and they will supply the bathing materials for a reasonable fee. read more

I have nothing but praise for Jane and Donna's grooming expertise. I started going to Jane 15 years ago with my first standard poodle. When I got my second, Donna started grooming her. My experience has been wonderful because my dogs are beautifully groomed, loved while they are there and they come home beautiful and relaxed from a positive experience rather than stressed from a difficult experience. read more

Jane & Donna do exceptional grooming. They love animals, which is a big plus! Very personalized service; lots of experience to determine a pet's needs, particularly in regard how long or short to make the coat in relation to the weather out there. Prices are very fair. Location is convenient on Lake Avenue. Parking in the rear if the street spots are filled. I have been using Jane as a groomer through two generations of dogs, and they love the place, too. read more
