This place is brand new!!! It is truly so bright, clean, and beautiful! The best part is the owner, Carol. She was so friendly and warm. Etta, my German Shepard and I both liked her immediately. This is actually a big deal. My miss Etta is not a young lady and had a rough life before I rescued/adopted her. She is always a bit shy around new people. This, to my utter delight, was not the case with Carol. We both felt welcomed. Miss Etta and I are here in Florida visiting friends. My friends have a beautiful, brand, new mostly white home. I am shocked they would even allow me to visit with my 70lb dog, they are clearly wonderful. Etta is generally a perfect lady, but we all know how our kids act up and embarrass us at the least opportune moment. My Miss Etta found her way into some swampy, smelly, muddy water. I know I may be a bit dramatic, but as I said, my friends home is new and mostly white. I was experiencing fairly significant panic. I clearly needed to give my girl a bath, but I know my friends would have not appreciated my girl in their tub. Their new white tub. Really, even when clean, I would then have a large wet dog shaking water all over the brand new wallpaper. I mean seriously, how could I even walk her through the house to get to their bath tub? SERIOUSLY!!!! Everything about this was problem. I now ask you, was my panic dramatic or warranted? Palm Beach County is a nice place to visit, and I was sure this was now going to be my last invitation! Carol and Dixie DIY Pet Spa to the rescue! Dixie's had three fantastic dog baths. My Etta could walk right into it herself, (than goodness because she is a big girl), so I didn't need to lift her up and place her in to the tub. I didn't have to bend at all while washing her. These are two amazing things as I have a terrible back that is always screaming when I bath her in our home. Carol had everything I need to get my girl back to camera and invited house guest ready! Shampoo was provided and even hair dryers. It is so easy to wash you dog when you have the right equipment! In no time at all Etta was clean, fresh smelling, dry, and happy. The best part... I had nothing to clean up. Hallelujah!!! My only complaint, and it's a big one... Carol does not have a Dixie DIY Dog Spa location in Charlotte, NC!!! When all was said and done Etta and I left feeling like we made a new friend. This place is a must for all dog owners!!!!! read more
