Back in September 2011, the owner sold me a "silver" coin for $10, but I later found out it was a counterfeit. Three months later in December 2011, I had an 1857 Flying Eagle cent that I thought about selling. When I asked him how much I could get for the coin, he took it in his hand and after barely looking at it for a second, he said "nothing" and just put it back on the counter. When I asked why, he rudely and bluntly said, "I don't want it" and went back to watching TV. I looked in his display case and saw several more of those same counterfeit "silver" dollar coins. I asked him if my coin was fake or not (at this point, I knew it was fake. I just wanted to see what he would say) and he said it was fake. I asked him, "If this coin is fake, why do you have multiples of the same coin?" and all he said was, "All of the coins in that case are fake." The thing that angered me the most was back in September 2011, he told me, "I don't know if the coin is real or not, that's why I'm pricing it at $10" but from that day and the three month period in between, he THEN knows the coin is fake? This is a clear sign of a scam!!!
I don't know of a single business that would look at a coin from the year 1857, and brush it off like it is nothing. Very rarely have I experienced such horrible customer service from anybody. I'm willing to bet that this guy didn't even notice the date. Rather than argue with this guy, I decided to take my business elsewhere. This scumbag should be locked in jail for selling counterfeit coins, knowingly or unknowingly. Stay away from this place! read more
