I took a ring here to get a price on what I could sell it for. The associate took almost 30 minutes…read moreto provide a price. I started to question if they knew what they were doing as they called over another employee to assist them. In the end I took it to Pawn America and they were prompt, knowledgeable, and gave me double! Don't recommend, steer clear.

The first experience was actually great…read more Enter Tom. Tom found me waiting outside before open and seemed confused, and I explained to him that I was told by an employee that there'd be a PS5 dropping in their store today and it was first come first serve. End of conversation, though he got his fair share of trash talking Liz and claimed there was no Joye employee, while also claiming to be a manager. Enter tall bird looking lady. Directly after my conversation with Tom, this lady walks up looking confused. I asked if he she needed help, and her response was flat out hostile, said I needed to leave because they have security cameras and automatically assumed I was up to no good. All I wanted was to spend around $500 for a PS5, and these two neanderthals successfully lost our business forever. She said I needed to leave and that "we don't need your money", verbatim. If you're looking for friendly service, or even regular service that isn't hostile, do NOT come here. God forbid you run into the bird lady, because she was so rude to me I can't even see how Tom employed her (if he's even a manager). I'm not even a threatening looking guy and I was polite, and in return I got shooed away. These people should be thrilled that someone is willing to wait outside before they open because there's something of value in their rundown pawn shop. How they stay in business is probably solely because of Liz and the other apparently non existent Joye employee.

Mike, Chris and Doug are not just professional and easy to work with, they really actually care…read more I've done business with them for a good 6 mos. or so and they were flexible, professional and more than fair compared to some of their competitors for the same items. They made sense with their pricing explanations and worked with me on extensions for pawned items that I went to buy back. All 3 of these guys are equally easy to work with and fair. If new customers knew what I knew when they walked in, they would feel at ease about their decision to do business here. If I ever need to go back, I absolutely will. Thanks fellas!

Resellers beware! I had a horrible experience here two days ago. The sales guy left a bad taste in…read moremy mouth when he told me to "take your crappy monitor" (RUDE!) and leave after refusing to sell a boatload of DVDs and Blu-rays to me. I showed up at the shop right when they opened and tried to sell my grandma's small Vizio TV but unfortunately it was too old for them to buy it so I put it back in my car. I went back into the shop with a large shopping bag with the intent of filling it up with DVDs and Blu-rays for my personal use and to resell on eBay. He at first told me that the prices listed on the individual Blu-rays were negotiable and that he could give me a deal. Well after he saw me on my phone looking up prices and scanning movies, he told me that he wasn't going to give me a good deal if I was just gonna flip them. After about an hour of browsing their entire impressive collection, I brought hundreds of dollars worth of movies to the counter and asked how much the DVDs were and how much the Blu-rays were. The sales guy said, "Honestly, I'm going to charge you the prices listed." Mind you, the prices listed on the Blu-rays varied widely from $5.99 to $19.99 which is insane for pawn shop prices. A fair market price for a pawn shop Blu-ray is $3 max, and DVD $2 max. I was prepared to pay that but the guy was such a jerk to me and refused to do business with me. He said, "We're not here for you to make money off of," (isn't that what pawn shops do to their sellers?) and even said, "Had you been more upfront about (flipping) in the first place, I might've cut you a deal" which is total BS. I think I might've just touched a soft spot on him by trying to make an honest living just like him, and I bluntly told him, "That's not fair" and "That's none of your business." Why does he care so much about what I do with the stuff I buy fair and square? I will never go back to this place and have warned all my friends, family, and coworkers. I will post this review everywhere I can. And THEN, in order to have the last word, the sales guy told me to take my "crappy monitor" with me and leave. His ego must've been more important than making a good sale. I could tell the Blu-rays and DVDs hadn't moved in months, maybe even years because they were dirty and dusty and faded and sun bleached. Take your business elsewhere, like Excel Pawn in Shakopee just down the road or literally anywhere else. The guys at Excel Pawn treated me with respect and were happy to part with stacks of DVDs and Blu-rays when I went there next. Avoid Pawn X Change. Unfair, rude, unprofessional, nosy, and unintelligent.
