Maybe more like 3.5....
OK price, good location in Bastille, very close to the Metro, clean and bright rooms, although a bit small (not much space to put your luggage somewhere unless you block the window), odd shower design (just a small glass door that swings out, only encloses half of the shower, and allows water to drip out or spray out of the shower). As mentioned in another review, there is a heated towel rack, which is nice for both heating towels and drying laundry, although it didn't heat up predictably. Sometimes it would sit cold for hours; other times it would heat up nicely.
Breakfast at the hotel costs 12 euro/day, although if you buy it online you can get it for 10 instead. Breakfast consisted of cereals, breads, jams, honey, nutella, madeleines, croissants, pain au chocolat, boiled eggs, yogurt, fresh fruit, cheeses, meats, coffee, orange juice, grapefruit juice.
Rooms cost roughly 200 euro per night, but there's also a 3-night special which brings the price down roughly by half. Front desk personnel have pretty good English and are friendly. Careful when booking online--we made a mistake of booking two rooms instead of one because the English website says "your choice" when it means "how many rooms do you want".
Free wi-fi throughout the hotel.
I would recommend this hotel as a nice, clean, affordable hotel in a good location. (I have the impression that most Paris hotels are pretty expensive, and this one is considered affordable by Paris standards.) read more
