My favorite neighborhood food market! Love it, so convenient. Maybe a bit more expensive than making the trek to a larger chain. Excellent staff - all so friendly. And you always meet interesting people in the parking lot. LOL. Minus one star for the public restrooms. Sorry Pavilions!

Security guard stocks me every time I am there. He always puts his eyes on me. Makes it very uncomfortable to shop around.

Predictably long wait for prepared food. Crowded tables outside. Lots of young, beautiful people here just hanging out. The food here is really good. I like the already prepared food that packed to go instead of the one behind the counter because I don't like lines. Although I have had the behind the counter food before and enjoyed it. They are known for their smoothies. I have not tried the smoothies because a lot of them are made with add ons like collagen that isn't vegetarian based and I don't eat meat products. They are pretty expensive as well (about $20 for a smoothie) but to justify the price I will say that they are more complex than a regular smoothie and buying the extras does add up. I bought some different brands that are vegan based to make the vegetarian copy/cat versions at home. I recently discovered the garlic miracle noodles on the grab and go shelf. They are pretty good and low calorie as well. They have an al dente bite to them. I had the entire container as my lunch and it was filling. On another trip to Erewhon, I got the wild salmon and paired it with the cilantro rice. Together it was super filling. I could have shared it with someone. Cilantro rice was spicy but very flavorful. Salmon paired well with the rice as it is plain and the rice is very flavorful. The fish looks small at first but I was so full that I think I misjudged the portion size in the beginning. I wanted to get a soup to go but, unfortunately, I found a lot of their vegetable soups are made with chicken broth. I hope they change that because it was a bummer and not necessary for vegetable soups. There is parking on the street and a lot next door with Erewhon parking on the bottom. Walking distance from Rodeo Drive if you so desire to be touristy.

Several years ago the old store was demolished and a brand new and huge replacement was built. I'm so thankful to have this incredible grocer in my neighborhood. This Pavilions has everything. It's well stocked, clean, and offers so many amenities. A full-service deli with fresh hot and cold prepared food, an on-site bakery, a large butcher and fresh seafood section, a large wine and spirits section with daily samplings that is adjacent to the cheese area. There's even a large floral department with on-site staff to assist you with your fresh flowers purchase. This location also has a full service pharmacy, and an on-site Starbucks. Too bad a local coffee shop wasn't here instead. But the best part of this Pavilions is the staff. The vast majority of them are super friendly and helpful. Many of them have been working here for years and decades. Plenty of ground level parking with a large roof top parking lot, too. Currently open everyday from 6a to Midnight.

I called around 4 PM to place a cookie order and spoke with Ashley. I was immediately told that all cookie orders require 48-hour notice--without being asked how many cookies I needed or any details about the order. I even clarified that I was only looking for one dozen original cookies and one dozen milk chocolate, and she reiterated that all cookie orders require 48-hour notice. What was most frustrating wasn't even the policy--it was the lack of basic customer service. There were no follow-up questions, no attempt to offer alternatives, and no effort to see if anything could be accommodated for the next day. The conversation felt very one-sided and dismissive. I've ordered from other Bristol Farms locations throughout Southern California and have not encountered such a rigid, across-the-board policy, which made this experience even more surprising. I ended up placing the order elsewhere, and my group was very happy with that decision for several reasons, including the overall service experience. At a minimum, I would expect staff to: * Ask a few clarifying questions before declining a request * Offer alternatives or solutions when possible * Communicate policies in a more customer-friendly way Unfortunately, this isn't the first time I've experienced slow or inconsistent service at this particular counter, which makes it harder to rely on. I would also be interested to understand what measures are in place to ensure team members are trained and supported to deliver a customer-focused experience that helps grow the business, rather than turning away reasonable requests.

They had an offer to waive the service fee and delivery after spending a certain amount before the end of the year. I went online and placed my order. I enjoyed that they had the option to pick a replacement for an item should it be out of stock and also to leave a note. For example, I wanted my avocados to be almost ripe but not mushy so I left that in the comments section. They gave me a window for delivery and the groceries were delivered within that time. The order was correct and the produce was absolutely beautiful and so fresh. Only caveat was that I had asked for all the items that needed to be in the fridge or freezer to be packed together so I could easily remove them first and that was not done. The other thing that I disappointed me is that some of the eggs in my carton were cracked (and yes, I did put in the notes to check for this). Other than that I was really happy I took advantage of this offer and it was the reason I shopped here instead of the competitors. If you want to receive offers like this and enjoy grocery delivery from time to time I strongly suggest getting on the Gelson's e-mail mailing list.

I like variety, I like getting inspired for the week, and in an ideal situation this store actually has a great selection. Unfortunately, none of that mattered the moment I walked through the doors. The smell hit me immediately, and when I say hit, I mean it was horrific. I genuinely stopped in my tracks because I thought something had gone very wrong. At first I tried to brush it off, thinking maybe it was temporary or localized, but as I kept walking it became painfully clear that the odor was coming from the meat department. That alone is extremely concerning. It wasn't subtle, it wasn't faint, it was strong enough that it felt like it was oozing through the entire store and clinging to everything around it. I tried to push through because I didn't want to waste the stop, but I quickly realized I couldn't bring myself to buy anything fresh. Produce was a no, bakery was a no, meat was obviously out of the question. I ended up only feeling comfortable looking at pre packaged, fully sealed items, and even then I was second guessing myself. A grocery store should never make you feel uneasy about food safety, and unfortunately that's exactly how this visit felt. What's frustrating is that if the smell wasn't there, I actually would have enjoyed shopping here. The layout, the offerings, the overall vibe should have worked for me. But a grocery store lives and dies by cleanliness and freshness, and this experience completely missed the mark. I don't know what happened that day, but it was bad enough that I won't be back anytime soon. The staff didn't leave an impression on me as well.

It is a bit surreal being in a grocery store where the mean/median/mode price of something is 10x what it'd be at a normal shop. There's a parking garage right next to this location, but there was also a good amount of street parking nearby. Staff was very friendly! I got an 8 oz. jar of the Summit Trail Mix, which I really liked! It's not too salty and the dried fruits complimented the almonds so well. Enjoyed it so much that I kinda wish I opted for the bigger jar. Also, on top of the already steep price, there's a $3 bottle deposit. Since it was my first time here, the cashier let me know that you can get your deposit back if you bring the bottles/jars back to the store. After making my trail mix purchase, I got the strawberry glaze smoothie. My smoothie was ready pretty quickly. I'm not a big strawberry-flavor lover, but I really enjoyed this smoothie. It was the perfect refreshing drink for hot weather and walking around. I also felt very fitting and pretentious taking sips of my smoothie while strolling around Melrose.
