Floating is one of the most relaxing things you will ever do. The Float Spot was extremely clean…read moreand the service was not high pressure trying to sell you additional things like other spa type places do. The ownership was super nice and you can tell that they truly care about making sure your experience was the best.

Thoroughly disappointed…read more It's been years since my wife and I last floated. We used to go often in Austin, and we've been searching for a good spot closer to McKinney. The closest option seemed to be The Float Spot in Frisco. After months of talking about it, my wife surprised me with a booking for both of us this weekend for my birthday. Unfortunately, the weather had other plans. Our area was under a WeatherCall NextGen alert instructing residents to seek higher ground. The street in front of our house had water flowing like an actual river. I called to explain the situation and see if we could move our appointment. The woman I spoke with, Crystal (who identified herself as the manager), seemed to take satisfaction in telling me we'd still be billed for half the booking. She said other customers were coming in without problems, as though we should risk our safety to do the same. When I asked about escalating to another manager, she repeated that she was the manager and even encouraged me to leave a review, pointing me to the other ones. So here I am. I haven't left a Yelp review in over five years, but this interaction pushed me to do so. We wish there were other float options in the area, because after this experience we'll never use this facility. Not because of the floats themselves, but because of how the staff handled the situation. Expecting people to put their lives at risk during literal flooding is unacceptable.

I discovered this place via Groupon and decided to try out a float tank experience…read more Ava was the attendant that welcomed me in. She was warm, inviting, and offered for me to use the bathroom before getting started. She walked me through the whole floatation experience process and allowed for any questions. The room has a washcloth, two towels- a body and a hair towel, ear plugs, and ointment for any potential skin tears or cuts. The shower has instructions in there on a metal plate attached to wall, but Ava as well explained the pre-and post float shower expectations. Then she offered me a speaker that could connect to my phone via Bluetooth, which I really appreciated, and then she left me to get started. After inserting the earplugs, showering/exfoliating and shampooing my hair, I got into the tub. There is a neck-support float provided as well, which I decided to use, and as well there is a provided water bottle to spray in case salt gets in your eyes. There are "constellation lights" on the ceiling above the tub and also LED lights that are in the background. There are different buttons in the tub that you can press to adjust either/or and as well a button for controlling the room light. The water temperature was nice and the tub spacious. Then you float until being signaled that your time is up via flickering lights. I followed the post-float shower instructions and applied the "soothing lotion" before finishing up. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience! I recommend trying out At Peace By Defying Time spa if you're looking for a float tank experience.

Bought a Groupon here because I love a good float tank sesh but haven't been able to find too many…read moreplaces out here that do them. I used to have a regular spot in Austin. Anyways I hate that it's so far away from me, I think location definitely effects their business and customer inflow. But the new owner is so sweet. She was very helpful when I arrived, and asked me if I had done this before, and explained to me how their tank sessions work. Overall the experience was good, but I'll be honest it wasn't as relaxing for me as the others I've been too, because the room is too bright for me. So they do have options for lighting, but it's either pitch dark or they have some colored lights and a starry night feeling but they're so bright I could still "see" them when closing my eyes. Additionally, they do have the option for music but you attach your own phone to play it. I personally didn't like all these features, others may.....in the past my float sessions the lights were dimmer and they played light music right in the pod with you and had ambient lights and they helped wake you from your session gradually. It all just felt more relaxing. That said, if you're looking to float this serves that purpose, but I personally like the closed in pods better I realize versus this which is more of a bathtub version. They also offer other services if floating isn't your thing or you want to add on.

4/5 - Great First Experience With One Important Concern…read more This was my first time visiting Spa Castle, and I'm happy to say they did not disappoint. There are multiple pools and saunas, each with different temperatures and benefits to explore. Whether you want to detox, relax, or simply enjoy the water, there's plenty to choose from. You can also book add-on services like massages or scrubs for a more personalized experience. There are plenty of areas to relax, both indoors and outdoors, and while children are allowed, we thankfully didn't have many around us during our visit, so it still felt peaceful and serene. The locker room and bathhouse areas are fully nude, which is something I chose not to experience due to personal preference. However, one thing I did feel strongly about as a parent of girls was the fact that children are also allowed to walk around nude in these areas. While I understand this is part of the cultural setup for some spas, I believe Spa Castle should consider a policy that prohibits nudity for minors. Unfortunately, pedophiles don't have a "look," and some parents can be completely unaware of their surroundings. For the sake of child safety, I'd strongly recommend the spa reevaluate this policy and put something in place to protect the kids. Aside from that, I had a great experience overall and can't wait to return to see what the upcoming renovations look like. This place has a ton of potential and offers a unique, refreshing escape from the day-to-day.
