Uncle Ed is a great mechanic for many different brands of cars. Our car, Goldilocks, is a 20 year…read moreold veteran of the day~to~day cross~country lifestyle. It's protected two generations of families and now it's on its third. Of course, over the years Goldilocks has had its adventures with a few wear and tear scars. When our Ohana adopted Goldilocks, we really didn't know where to take our car for repairs. I asked dozens of mechanic shops around town and because of Goldilocks make, model, and year, no~one wanted (or had the right tools) to work on the car. Word-of-mouth lead me to Uncle Ed. After speaking with him on the phone for a few minutes, I knew I found the right man for the job to restore our car back to road worthy conditions. Uncle Ed and his assistant are good ole' honest mechanics that give me a straightforward answer each time I have a problem or question about Goldilocks health. We still have a few more things to address with the car and a couple of preventative issues to fix. Luckily, Uncle Ed knows his stuff and has a good game plan ahead for Goldilocks, allowing me and my Ohana the peace of mind of knowing our car still has a long future ahead with many more miles of adventures. The shop is a little off the beaten path but well worth the journey. They are busy, so please make sure to call ahead and schedule an appointment. Mahalo ~ Sir

The guys behind the counter work on cars and they know cars. This matters to me, I've found whenever I go somewhere else. I've encountered employees other places that I don't think have ever even done an oil change before and that's definitely not the case with Pahoa Auto Parts. You can have conversations with them about your car and they can make good recommendations based on their experiences. This sets them apart from pretty much all other parts stores on the east side. And I've never had a problem returning parts, so long as I had a receipt and the parts weren't used.

I later got around to fixing it myself. both high and low Schrader valves were left loose and open. ac would charge but loose charge over night. I gave them time to reach out and make it right. hilo is small. I hope they can improve and stop taking advantage of people. aloha
