To the people in hot prepared foods:…read more I wanted to take a moment to congratulate your prepared foods department on accomplishing something I didn't think was possible: making chicken completely inedible. This afternoon my wife purchased two portions of your "Harvest Chicken" from the hot foods counter. When she brought it home, we sat down expecting dinner. Instead, we were treated to what can only be described as a culinary experiment in dehydration. I didn't realize chicken could actually reach the texture of corrugated cardboard, but your staff has apparently mastered that technique. Large sections were so hard that even a fork had trouble getting through them, which is an impressive achievement if the goal was to create building materials rather than food. It's honestly a shame, because an animal had to give its life for that meal, only for it to be cooked into something no human should reasonably be expected to eat. I have seen more care put into kindergarten cooking projects. In the end, most of it went straight into the garbage, which seemed to be the most appropriate place for it. For comparison, a stop at Burger King would have been a noticeable upgrade in quality. You may want to take a look at what's happening behind that counter, because if this is the standard being served to customers, something has gone very wrong.

A few of my coworkers have been raving about this place, they're all first gen here in the US, so when they go nuts over Italian/Italian American spots, I take heed. I want to say what I got was called "The Giuseppe"? It was chicken cutlet, fresh mutz, roasted red peps and I added balsamic...this was THE BEST chicken cutlet I've ever had outside my friend's off the boat mother's kitchen, truly outstanding. As for the price...wow, talk about getting your money's worth, this thing was enormous and the price was more than fair (just over $13)

Everyone was raving about good the food was, and how the ballroom was the grandest one they'd ever seen. The cocktail hour area was super spacious, which was one of things that my husband and I were looking for when we were researching venues. We hate when we go to a wedding and we have a plate of food in one hand, drink in the other, and nowhere to put them down and/or sit. But not at the Tides - plenty of seating, which is also much appreciated during Covid times, since it means guests will likely not be crowded in one area. Tito was our banquet manager and he answered my billion questions leading up to the wedding. Any worry I had, no matter how trivial it seemed, was put at ease. My girls and I got ready at the Tides. I had 9 BMs plus my Mom and MIL, and there was plenty of getting ready space. The main room is also very pretty, so it's great for 'getting ready' photo ops. There's also a room for the GMs to hang out in, although they are all connected so if you are the Bride, just have a member of the bridal party make sure that the Groom isn't around when you leave the room. Our maitre'd, Steve was awesome. Whenever I thought that I needed something, before I could even tell a BM to go find him, it seemed as though Steve would appear out of thin air, like some kind of wizard or something. We did a tea ceremony beforehand, and he set it up for us before we even needed to ask him to. He even packed our leftovers at the end of the night, knowing we did not get to eat. The Tides' motto is 'where we make your dreams come true', which I thought was a bit corny at first. But now that I've had my wedding there, I can see that they really do live up to that. Everything was perfect. Tip - they have a sound system in house, so if you are planning on hiring a DJ, let them know about this and maybe your DJ can offer you a discount.

I convinced my mom that we needed to try their INFAMOUS "Lomo Fries" we drove on Getty Ave begins St. Joes and at first we drove by it because it's parked on the sidewalk itself. So when looking for it don't drive by it and miss it. I ordered Lomo Fries and their wings combo. The Lomo Fries were AMAZINGGG, literally blew me out of this world, the juice that the steak tips had was very unique and they topped it off with another cream which enhanced the flavor. The fries were not soggy at all instead they absorbed the juice of the Lomo and were perfect. Typing this is making my stomach growl! Their wings were also delicious, I believe it was 8wings that were fresh and beautifully cooked in their special sauce which was perfectly spicy and the fries were fresh as well and not soggy. The wings combo comes with fries and a drink! The service was phenomenal as well and I was able to follow them on IG and now know where they are weekly and if they specials. It's a very exciting time for food trucks! I also got to talk to the chef who was very friendly and welcoming, definitely definitely recommend this food truck! Anything you want they are happy to make it happen. BYOB a nice plus. Food review.... Comp bread with garlic eggplant spread. Gotta love garlic for this one. Great italian bread with an amazing olive oil for dipping. Olive oil is nicely spiced and includes a shaved cheese. Fried calamari was perfectly done. They offer mild or spicy marinara and we were able to get both for the table. Yummy! Great marinara!! Complimentary salad is a nice plus especially these days. Huge serving. Classic salad ingredients except topped with minced italian meats and cheese. A light italian dressing. De-lious. Chicken parm entree was thinly sliced and perfectly fried, lots of cheese in a wonderful marinara sauce, side of pasta included. Pork braciole over homemade gnocchi was amazing. Pork was fork tender and expertly stuffed and seasoned. Gnocchi were soft and fluffy. Another huge portion. I had it for 3 meals. Crispy salmon over mushroom risotto was perfection. Salmon was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Risotto was beautiful made with lots of mushrooms. So creamy! Just a bit too much finishing olive oil for our taste. Cappuccino was delicious with a big whipped cream top. Tartufo ice cream is traditional and delicious. A wonderful restaurant.

PAID ALMOST $10K FOR GUESTS TO LEAVE HUNGRY. EMBARRASSED IN FRONT OF ALL MY LOVED ONES…read more Our engagement party is now overshadowed by humiliation. Several of our guests mentioned there was not enough food at our party. Furthermore, the food that was available was subpar at best. One guest flew in from Florida to celebrate with us, and said several dishes ran out and weren't replenished. Another guest told us she only had rice & beans to eat because all the other dishes ran out. A guest who managed to get some meat said it was so fatty she couldn't even eat it - it was causing her to choke! Another guest panicked, trying to figure out how to discreetly spit out an inedible piece of gristle. I cannot put into words how mortified I am. I have never hosted a party where guests left hungry and I am absolutely humiliated. The catering charge is calculated per person, so there should have been plenty of food for everyone - especially since we had several no-shows. We paid for MORE people than actually attended and they STILL ran out of food. We paid an extra upcharge for salmon, and the piece I received was about the size of a silver dollar. Many of the dishes were rice-based, making this even more inexcusable - how GREEDY and CHEAP do you have to be to run out of rice at a 100-person party?! Part of the reason we chose this venue was their "authentic" Peruvian menu, but it was embarrassing serving this to our Peruvian relatives! The ceviche was bland and disappointing, like the rest of the food (what there was of it, anyway). These owners pocketed nearly $10,000 and had no shame shortchanging 100 guests. I will be sending out apology notes with our thank you cards for this debacle - something I never imagined having to do for my own engagement party. Several guests have actually expressed pity for us because it's glaringly obvious we were ripped off and taken advantage of. Thank god we aren't having our wedding here! Do not make the mistake of trusting this venue with your celebration unless you want to spend it apologizing to your loved ones instead of celebrating with them.

Jill also acted as a day-of coordinator and everything was seamless. She worked calmly and professionally behind the scenes with all vendors to keep the day flowing. I didn't worry about anything that day and it all worked out perfectly. We had a lounge-like vision for the party: no assigned seats, a mix of table sizes, and a buffet of tapas style plates that would get people moving around the space. Jill made this happen and it felt seamless - she was endlessly positive and full of ideas and solutions to make the event feel festive, COVID-safe, and flowing. No one ever had to wait in line for drinks - bars were plentiful and well run. My husband and I sat at a small table together which she thoughtfully prepared ahead of time with a full array of food so we actually got to eat a little that evening!
