Personal cheese pizza with buttery garlic sauce
Courtenay O.

Husband comes here weekly, and he comes more often when he wants pizza. This is his favorite pizza restaurant, and it's mine too! I especially enjoy coming here before or after a show at Ruth Eckerd Hall. It's so close & the food and service are excellent. Tonight we're here before the Jeff Foxworthy Show at REH. IT IS PACKED! But luckily someone left after we ordered and the booth was quickly cleaned for us. Great service! Background music is pleasant and not too loud. The Chicago memorabilia decorating the inside reminds Husband of home and me of my ancestral roots. It's clean and pleasant to eat here. Tonight Husband had his regular sausage pizza. I had the cheese pizza with buttery garlic sauce since I can't have tomatoes or tomato sauce. No extra charge! Both of our pizzas tasted as good as they looked! We had plenty of time before the show to savor our food and enjoy the ambiance as well as each other's company!

Delicious pizza! Easy big parking lot makes parking a breeze. We went at an odd time so it was nice and quiet. The price was a bit high for the aesthetic and vibe but the service is great and the pizza tastes fresh and is made to order.

Best Thin Pizza!! This is a must go spot - worth the drive from the beach. The service is top notch and good people. You can get take and bake to go. We had the xl thin crust sausage and pepperoni pizza with garlic knots. Perfect - shared across four people.

Paul's hasPause has to be the best Chicago Tavern style pizza in Florida that I have tasted. The restaurant is consistent every time I order. The decor reminds me of back home. The restaurant is retro style Chicago. It puts me in the mind state of Chicago Tavern. Will be returning in the near future and highly recommended this restaurant.

Service was great. Prompt and friendly. Restaurant was clean. Pizza was mid but affordable. One slice was about $4. Probably won't be back personally.

XL Sausage & Pepperoni thin crust Chicago pizza

Man, what a good move it was driving over to Paul's Chicago Pizza in Clearwater, FL yesterday... Everybody was super nice and friendly and welcoming -- and the XL Sausage & Pepperoni thin crust Chicago Pizza was dynamite! And it turned out to be a lot closer to Town & Country Tampa than I realized, which is going to be an issue! It tasted like fresh, top shelf ingredients put together by an experienced, talented crew... It even reheated beautifully for my wife's dinner tonight, and she was really impressed... I just finished the last four squares, which is what inspired me to come here to make a review... Incredible... Their menu contained a lot of my favorite things so I will be back...

This place never is the spot for my wife. She grew up in Chicago and their pizza just hits home for her. Friendly staff and quick service. It's located in the Publix plaza. The pizza has the perfect crunchy crust. The wings are also great. Perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked. We usually order garlic parmesan poppers because IT IS A MUST. I encourage anyone to swing by if you're in the mood for pizza . They have all sorts for pizza toppings and make it to how you want it.

First time I've been to Paul's Chicago Pizza and I was very impressed!!! This is an order at counter restaurant and they bring the food out to your table when ready. Entire restaurant is adorned with festive themed decor which looks great!! Food was brought out in good time and was perfect temperature. Ordered 2 pizzas, one was the 8" Buffalo chicken pizza and the second one was a 16" thin crust cheese pizza. Both pizzas were excellent!!! The thin crust was perfectly crispy and not over cooked!! Highly recommend trying this restaurant out!! They have a great variety of menu choices in addition to what we ordered. They have soft drinks as well as draught beer and more to drink. Looking forward to visiting again soon to try some more of your menu items!!! Great job overall to the server and also kitchen staff for making my experience worthwhile!!

I was in Clearwater with my wife for a little getaway weekend for our anniversary and one evening…read morewe decided we weren't too hungry, so we started looking for decently rated pizza places, and we were tickled to find Alba Pizza & Cafe. Why were we tickled? Well, Alba is our last name, so we had to try it. It was about a mile and a half walk from our hotel and it was a nice evening so we took the walk. The area around the cafe is dark and relatively quiet, just off the beaten path a bit. The cafe is built into an old house it seems and there is no inside seating. We walked in and met two people, one was the owner and the other was taking our order. We waited outside for our pizza and in about 12 minutes, the owner brought it out. We asked how they came up with the name of the restaurant and he said it is because the family is Albanian, and he seemed to get just as big a kick out of us sharing the same name as the cafe as we did. I wish they sold t-shirts, but hopefully that happens soon. This is not any kind of bias, but I am happy to report that the pizza is outstanding! I'm originally from NY, so I'm a little picky about my pizza and I prefer a Brooklyn style- thin crust, and a little on the crispy side. This pizza was cooked perfectly! The crust was perfectly crisp, but not charred, the sauce was delicious and the cheese was terrific and the best part is the pizza was perfectly balanced. So many places put way too much cheese or sauce on their pizzas, but not Alba, they do it right! I had meatballs on my half of the pizza and they were excellent. I was pleased to learn that Alba has another location in Tampa, and the sister of the Clearwater location's owner runs that one, so we're going to stop in there one of these days as we live about 40 minutes away. To the gentleman who yelled across the street "Best pizza in Clearwater!" when we were about to walk in to Alba, I say: Thank you, and you are right! Alba would also be the best pizza (by far) in Palmetto if they ever wanted to open a location there. Haha. Thanks so much to the staff at Alba, you all are very friendly, and we enjoyed the conversation and the great pizza. We will surely see you again one day soon. Let us know if you ever get any t-shirts in, please.

This was clearly a vestigial pizza joint. Based on talks I've heard around Clearwater Beach, this was at one time a hotspot for tourists and locals alike, however I heard a lot of controversy that surrounded the place. Truthfully I was way too gentle with this place when I first reviewed it, so I'm here to rectify that before I leave this review be for good. The "pizza" I had here, if you can call it that, in 2024 was an over-glorified ritz cracker with cheese and tomato sauce...Absolutely no flavor, no substance, and it went down like a rock; I had gas station oven pizzas that tasted better than this. So little to say but so telling at the same time...The owners really had no pride in what they were doing at all to the point that they were borderline catatonic, and the entire place was in disrepair when I last visited it; Nothing was organized, wires were hanging out, and it was just straight up a rundown eating environment, which is a far cry from when it used to have outdoor seating reserved for its place. All of it was really offputting. Captain's Pizza was a shipwreck of its own doing and it was honestly time to abandon ship, just to keep it in tune with the theme.
