I had a frustrating experience with Kings Pizza in Clearwater. I placed an online order at 7:30 PM for two pizzas and wings, and received a confirmation text saying it would be ready for pickup at 8:00 PM. I arrived right at 8:00 and checked in with the hostess at the front. She told me the order was in their system and would be ready in about 10 minutes. After waiting another 20 minutes, I checked again--only to be told that the kitchen had never received the order, even though it was showing in their front register system. At that point, nearly an hour had passed since I originally placed the order. I was asked if I wanted to cancel, but since I had already paid (including tip), I asked them to go ahead and make the food. I then waited another 20 minutes for the order to finally be prepared. While the hostess did apologize, the restaurant really needs to figure out how an order can be confirmed online and appear in their system, yet never make it to the kitchen food order queue. Unfortunately, the food didn't fully make up for the experience. The pizza itself was good, but the BBQ wings were overly sauced and cold. Our family only ate two out of the dozen we ordered. Using uber tells you when they are preparing and when they are on their way and an expected delivery time. It is always at least 30-40 min past that! And the food is cold. We live 3 minute drive at the end of the street. Every single time and we continued to order again and again. No more! The subs were good and the fries were crispy and cooked to perfection. A very large menu that has more than just pizza. I think there were 4 tables inside with 4 chairs per table and an outdoor patio with multiple tables. 2 days prior we were at Surfside Taphouse and paid $10 more for a Philly Cheesesteak sub.
